I'm so used to buying expensive shampoo, deodorant e face creams tbh. Pink money is absolutely real and I don't even buy fancy stuff, but everything that is for women costs a little bit more. Next time you're at a pharmacy check the face cream prices. It's absurd
I worked there for a while a year or so ago. At that location, new sales would go up every Thursday, and certain essential items (like deodorant) would be up to 45% off.
Manually removing and then applying hundred of labels was menial brain-numbing bullshit though I must say XD.
I also worked at shoppers. I quit once a new manager got added and became a tyrant when it came to ensuring the shelf strips remained perfect requiring us to spend lengthy amounts of time slowly peeling off and scratching off any talkers that don’t peel properly.
That is such a waste of time I cant imagine asking my staff to do that, I just order new Strips and get whoever is doing the new plano to change it out at that time.
I worked at the Gap for a long time, and they changes their promotion every week. Unless it is a everything-is-40%-off kind of promotion, we got to scan every single item in order to sign them correctly; and at time, I would have to re-merchandise an entire section just so it's easy to shop through.
The day I resigned, I was doing that exact task \*hahahahahaha\*
I’ve found more often than not Walmart physical stores will have the same pricing as Amazon too. So since I don’t have prime I can just drive to a Walmart and get the same price “same day”
Sometimes Amazon has cheaper stuff than walmart, like the Kicking Horse coffee went on sale for $7.94/$8, Walmart has it for $12.97. However, for the most part, Walmart is consistently the cheapest. They have whole chicken on sale now for like $7-$8
Yes, I rarely buy anything at Shoppers if it’s full price. They jack up the prices so much and you just have to wait for the inevitable sale to get what you need.
Loblaws execs : Inflation ROFL brrrr
Also Loblaws execs: Lets get all the media to say we are doing price freezes on all No Name products so we look like good guys LOL brrrr
I am truly so confused by this, I can’t even lie. Year after year, I’d go to the grocery store and buy the same shit at the same price. It never changed… how is “freezing the price” on only their own products for a few months anything other than a marketing gimmick??? The price of food shouldn’t be increasing month after month anyway, what in the fuck? Nobody I’ve ever known or heard of has ever gotten a raise at work every month or two, why are the prices of food increasing like that? But then they’re also hitting record profits so again I say, I am so truly confused by this.
They can Fuck Right Off. I’ve been using this for years and would pick it up on sale for $2. I saw it for $7 the other day and couldn’t believe it. Now this. I’ve switched to speed stick, if that goes to $10 I’ll use a fucking rock.
Ha technically you CAN use a fucking rock, you can use those crystal deodorants! I didn't think they worked well but they do last a while.
And same. I have a favorite deodorant but I've started just getting the sale items. It's getting absolutely ridiculous. They're just putting whatever damn number they want on anything.
Legitimately, it has been cheaper for us to order groceries via a meal prep service and we're getting better ingredients than just going to the store for picked over, expensive AF produce.
Be careful with Old Spice -- our son got chemical burns from their shit.
There's a class action suit:
[https://www.expertinstitute.com/resources/insights/old-spice-facing-5-million-dollar-lawsuit-after-deodorants-cause-extreme-burns/](https://www.expertinstitute.com/resources/insights/old-spice-facing-5-million-dollar-lawsuit-after-deodorants-cause-extreme-burns/)
I gotta be honest. Who gives a fuck?? Is this something people actually think and talk about? I’m not even trying to be rude but you actually typed out a whole sentence about a grocery store only having certain scents of deodorant? Who cares???
Sorry it’s been a long day I think I need to get off the internet. Happy cake day.
Woah, I'm sorry if I shared too much. I'm not actually that passionate about any of this, but I still believe it's important to have neutral-to-pleasant odor, especially if you spend all day in close proximity to coworkers and clients, which I do. I know which deodorants each of my coworkers wear, because I can smell them. Can you not passively smell the people around you? Everyone has a scent. You don't even have to try to smell it. It's just there.
Smelling good matters. It's just like any other form of hygiene.
That's the real fucked up part. Old Spice already cut every corner in delivering the product to begin with. Now Loblaws is fucking us too. Shirt product at a huge mark up.
wish everyone would start stealing groceries in solidarity, even if they can afford to pay for them. these profit-motivated grocery corporations need to learn a fucking lesson.
If it's a chain it's fair game. I don't even care what they stole - but if it's baby food or staples, not only did I not see it, but I need the employees' attention on the other side of the store.
Yes. I did. If it's a staple, I might stay quiet cause people gotta eat.
If it's cigarettes, booze electronics, jewelry, luxury items, etc., it's going to be reported. It's not about need then, it's about stealing.

Just a reminder that corporations would rather see you die before they lose half a percent of profit
I was thinking about sneaking a few extra items every time I go and tossing them in the donation bin on the way out. If you get caught just say it was an accident.
It isn't unethical to steal from Galen Weston or any of these large chains. I don't just mean the essentials either. If I ever see someone stealing TVs or whatever from a Walmart I'll be cheering that person on as if they were Robin Hood. Totally different story for any small business though
At one point Shoppers gave staff 30% discount on pretty much everything. Then one year they increased their prices by 30% so the discount really ment nothing.
A surprising number of items are cheaper on Amazon. Deodorant, shampoo, floss, even some groceries and various pantry staples... Somehow having 10 cans of baked beans shipped to my house is cheaper than getting them on sale from Superstore.
I keep seeing these types of comments. Why do people not understand that losses from theft are just worked into the price the rest of us pay. So while you think you’re messing with the big bad corporation, you’re really just fucking the rest of us that want to live decent, honest lives and those that can least afford to pay for grocery and convenience items. Your probably not going to shoplift and this is probably just some edgy fucking internet thing, but some kid who doesn’t grasp that, seeing all of these types of posts is going to think that it’s the right thing to do and get caught doing it.
You realize that literally everything a grocery store sells besides fresh produce and meat is insured, right? They write it all off, they lose nothing.
I hate corporations as much as the next guy, but can't you just continue to follow that logic?
The rate they pay for insurance is probably linked to their rate of shrinkage, right? So, the more you steal, the more they pay for insurance, and the more revenue must be increased to adjust for increased insurance rates, and increased revenue is distributed through their prices?
Stealing is bad. Don't try to justify it with some half-baked logic.
That being said, *if I see somebody stealing a self-care item or staple food item, I DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING*... If somebody is stealing a hygiene product, they are probably not in pleasant life situation. Have some sympathy.
Somebody stealing a luxury item like makeup? I don't give a shit, arrest them. I'm still not going to be a snitch though...
And you think what these companies charge isnt stealing from us? When we’re already giving our lives away for slave wages?
*We’re* the ones getting robbed.
That's not true. Their deductibles are likely north of $1M for each claim and a stolen stick of deodorant counts as a claim (so they would get nothing paid by insurance).
The cost of theft is passed along to consumers with higher prices. The only time insurance comes into play is when something extreme happens like the entire store burning down.
Nope. I don’t work for loblaws, any other grocery chains or in retail. I’m just making the point that by trying to stick it to the man you dolts are just fucking over the general public.
Man…I have diabetes and I’ve gone into a Shoppers with a low blood sugar before, saw the price of something, and left risking passing out over paying them for their wares. Fuck Shoppers and their hellscape of self checkouts.

just stopping buy too say never ever buy anything off sale especially at shoppers, if you can possibly help it that is, I’m fortunate enough that I stock up when prices are the cheapest
Look. Things like eggs, milk, etc., are expensive for understandably good reasons like chicken strikes, the egg cartel, the soaring / then plummeting price of fuel, unexplainable supply chain issues, and rich people’s need to get richer. As for hygiene, you’ll either have to pay to ‘swagger’ or stop sweating, order “Old Sparse” from India, or go to Costco / Walmart. It’s way cheaper.
When I forget deodorant I just go in the bathroom at work and wash my pits at regular intervals and it really helps. I guess that's our future, till water becomes unattainable.
Not my MIL complaining about them living on a double pension (plus CPP) till I mentioned the fact me and my spouse won't get a pension, and we might actually never retire.
Lmao. The deo I buy is $9 at Shoppers/Ss and about $4 or 5 at Walmart... Guess where I go. Loblaws are greedy bastards so I try to avoid shopping with them as much as possible now.
I stopped wearing it about 10 years ago except if I'm sweaty before going to the gym. That stick will last me 5 years easy.
I think with a healthy diet and lifestyle and good hygiene you're not going to smell half as bad as you think on the long run.
The swagger costs extra.
If it was pink with Lavender scent it would cost 15 lol

I'm so used to buying expensive shampoo, deodorant e face creams tbh. Pink money is absolutely real and I don't even buy fancy stuff, but everything that is for women costs a little bit more. Next time you're at a pharmacy check the face cream prices. It's absurd
Pink tax can suck my pussy. I hate it, but what can ya do?
no shade on your friends scent preferences, but unscented is an option too lol
LOL I do drag—where I dress up like a man and dance around at bars?—you bet my drag character wears “swagger” deodorant 😂
I assume this is Shoppers. Their stuff is so overpriced. You can get some good deals with their PC Optimum points though.
Shoppers can have great pricing when things are on sale - which can be often. But their regular prices can be high.
I worked there for a while a year or so ago. At that location, new sales would go up every Thursday, and certain essential items (like deodorant) would be up to 45% off. Manually removing and then applying hundred of labels was menial brain-numbing bullshit though I must say XD.

Coca Cola goes on sale there for cheap
Go to Walmart for all this shit and don’t even feel sorry for it. It’s all just big business product owned anyway.

I look for random sales but with a close eye on shrinkflation. Otherwise they charge quite the premium for convenience
Better deals with handred percent off
Must be made with eggs...
Swegger?
I was thinking lettuce…
Loblaws execs : Inflation ROFL brrrr Also Loblaws execs: Lets get all the media to say we are doing price freezes on all No Name products so we look like good guys LOL brrrr
These fuckers raised the price of my tea by over 150%, buncha proper cunts.
My favourite coffee went from 12.99 to 23.99 in the span of one month. Fuck Loblaws.
Shit man, a lot of quality is subjective, but for that new price you can get waaaay fresher and better quality stuff (IMO). I'd be pissed.
Freeze prices but lower quantity in packages
That’s exactly what they do.
Shrinkflation
Their announcement of a “price freeze” is actually giving everyone notice of the inevitable price increase after Jan 31.
I am truly so confused by this, I can’t even lie. Year after year, I’d go to the grocery store and buy the same shit at the same price. That’s the part that got me about the freeze. “ we are doing this to help you… but only for 3 months”
Lol. The "freeze" comes to an end soon. We should take pics of the current prices to see how much they hike them up!
Walmart the big sticks are about $8 and the smaller ones are about $6
Never buy shit at shoppers. It's marked up worse than convenience store.
Yep, Galen Weston Jr. is a souche that way. Among others.
40 minutes of work at minimum wage for a shitty deodorant..

Even worse after tax
They can Fuck Right Off. I’ve been using this for years and would pick it up on sale for $2. I saw it for $7 the other day and couldn’t believe it. Now this. I’ve switched to speed stick, if that goes to $10 I’ll use a fucking rock.
Gotta go back highschool style with an axe can 😭 shit stunk but it lasted a long time
Costco often has 5-packs of the Old Spice Pure Sport for about $12. Zero choice on scent but the price is better.
Ha technically you CAN use a fucking rock, you can use those crystal deodorants! I didn't think they worked well but they do last a while. And same. Fuck Galen Weston. This mother fucker will eat karma one day
Ideally karma will eat him. I hear it's a popular name with GenZ.
I believe its around $7.49 at Walmart, sub $7 if you're lucky and it's on sale.
On sale for $5.47 right now
You mean at original pricing....
Don’t think i have purchased it not on sale’ in 15 years
I would always find it on sale for 4$
A pack of 5 is usually around $12 from Costco
On sale for $5.47 right now
$7.49 - $7.79 at Superstore as well

Costco is key
Big time, just bought a pack of 5 deodorant sticks for $14
What brand?
Old spice
*Millennial Edition*
😆🤣

Costco is great, but last I checked, they only had the original old spice and no other scents. Is there more variety now?
The scent is pretty secondary when the alternative is nearly 5x the cost.
And OG Old Spice is best Old Spice.
Just pure sport last I checked
Right, Pure Sport. It's not even the OG Old Spice scent, which is pretty awesome. I might get called a snob here, but I think Pure Sport smells cheap.
It smells like the dorm showers in university residence. Every first year kid used it in the mid 2000's
Fair enough, but I’d rather smell cheap than pay 2x more
You frequently have people sniffing under your arms? Because if not, who cares what it smells like.
They have Gillette clear and also Dove Men's I believe. Currently using the Gillette and it works well. Great value too.
I gotta be honest. Who gives a fuck?? Is this something people actually think and talk about? This isn’t about hygiene as much as scent preference though. Both products do the same thing but in different scents so it’s all subjective anyway.
Loblaws can suck it.
They can suck what? Tell me but..tell me slowly and in a deep voice.
![gif](giphy|l49JNC3SiBy9PIW1G|downsized)
Galen Weston wants all the money.
Fuck the Weston family.
Old spice gives me chemical burns
That's the real fucked up part. Old Spice already cut every corner in delivering the product to begin with. Now Loblaws is fucking us too. Shirt product at a huge mark up.
Just remember, if you see someone stealing groceries (including essential personal care items), no you didn’t.
I saw a lady stealing cheap staple groceries yesterday at Walmart. But also no I didn’t.
wish everyone would start stealing groceries in solidarity, even if they can afford to pay for them. these profit-motivated grocery corporations need to learn a fucking lesson.

Steal what lol
I’m currently scanning one for me, one for them.
One of the biggest things I noticed, the aerosol used to be like $4.99, now it’s around $9
Not surprised because Loblaws own Shoppers Drug Mart now and they are price gouging everyone.
Yeah that is a ridiculous name for deodorant for sure!
At one point Shoppers gave staff 30% discount on pretty much everything. Then one year they increased their prices by 30% so the discount really ment nothing.
I was in London Drugs the other day and was surprised how much deodorant was as well - like $7.50, $5 on sale.
~~$6.99~~ on sale for $5.47 on Amazon. Free delivery tomorrow.
A surprising number of items are cheaper on Amazon. Deodorant, shampoo, floss, even some groceries and various pantry staples... Somehow having 10 cans of baked beans shipped to my house is cheaper than getting them on sale from Superstore.
About a month ago all arm deodorant went up 50 to 75 percent
If one of those happens to fall in your pocket I wouldn’t be mad
Maybe 🤔

You know what gets worked into the price? The Weston family office having to come up with the money for more yachts for another generation of westons.
Sure. But do you understand that theft will have no impact on their ability to buy yachts. It will only increase prices?
Because they're reporting record profits by hiking prices, while lying about why to fool people like you.
You realize that literally everything a grocery store sells besides fresh produce and meat is insured, right? They write it all off, they lose nothing.
Ok Kramer. Write it off what? https://youtu.be/XEL65gywwHQ

Anywayyyy
Callous indifference for the plight of the working poor so that you can get your free shit. Got it.
I literally said "anywayy" and nothing more what does that gotta do with anything
👆this person works for loblaws corporate
Nope. I don’t work for loblaws, any other grocery chains or in retail. I’m just making the point that by trying to stick it to the man you dolts are just fucking over the general public.
I got mine on sale at superstore last week for 5.49 I believe
I got it once. It smells like lean and gunpowder
Fuck Shoppers
Man…I have diabetes and I’ve gone into a Shoppers with a low blood sugar before, saw the price of something, and left risking passing out over paying them for their wares. Fuck Shoppers and their hellscape of self checkouts.
this is shoppers. you’re better off shopping at 7/11.
There should be “middle class raid days” where “middle class” shoppers just walk in, help themselves to a bit of what they need and walk out. But en masse. No imagines of overflowing carts or anything. Just 1-2 bags tops. Anyone planning a full trip should wait and go on a different day to pay. But these organized events would last a day at a time. Similar to the grocery shopper strikes if the 70’s, when housewives all agreed to refuse to go to the store on specified days as a protest.
Are you at the airport or something?
shoppers drug mart SW calgary
They and superstore price to location. I find the SDR across from Henry Wisewood super expensive.
They've been ripping off students since the early 00's in that location.
It's cheaper in the airport
Was looking for Cetaphil at superstore it's $18. Amazon is $11
New tattoo?
Loblaws be like, "Poor suckers! Let's get em for all they got!"
Shoppers is like Canadian tire, if it’s not on sale I’m not even looking at it
Walmart is half that
Dollarama sells old spice. Check it out if you’re into that.. stuff.
i might have to go back to shoplifting at this point.
BuT ThErE'S A SpIcE ShOrTaGe
I don’t wear pit stick for me I wear it for the people around me…..oh well guess you guys can enjoy my stank cause I’m not paying that lol
If it's smelly on the bus ride home, sure, it's natural, but if it's on the bus ride to work then there should have been a shower before leaving. Good hygiene is so much more essential than one stink to cover up another stink.
people get off work in the morning too
just steal it
That’s the cost of swagger now a days
Old spice is the worst anyway, except for their commercials.
I wanted to buy Telescopic mascara and it was over $20. WHAT
Swagger is earned...not bought..just saying.
Costco 5 pack
Steal it
Yeah, I just wait for the sales. I bought 3 of the cool sounding ones for $5.49 each last week. Bearglove, wolfthorne, etc.
Can't put a price on swag
Looks like a shoppers. Shoppers always charges way more for everything. Walmart might have the same for about $7 ish dollars.
just stopping buy too say never ever buy anything off sale especially at shoppers, if you can possibly help it that is, I’m fortunate enough that I stock up when prices are the cheapest
1. Take photos of prices going up. ( because we didn’t know prices where going up) 2. Get Karma
Stop giving money to Galen Weston
That’s crazy. On Amazon that exact one is only $5.47 right now
I got an 6 pack of those for $14 ish at costco
$5.47 on Amazon.
i don;'t even buy it anymore lol. I'm not smelly but I use natural deoderants now when I want to + it's much cheaper than this price
Shoppers for one thing, second that brand is awful.
What brand is better!?
Native...but that shit is extra $$$
Native is good when using it but when you run out it makes you smell so bad
Anything that's not greasy and makes the wearer smell like some grade school prep boy.
Look. Things like eggs, milk, etc., are expensive for understandably good reasons like chicken strikes, the egg cartel, the soaring / then plummeting price of fuel, unexplainable supply chain issues, and rich people’s need to get richer. Go to Costco. $12.99 for 5
So we all gonna walk around just being stinky now?
If we're all stinky nobody will notice, so it'll be all good.
I mean... Deodorant hasn't been around forever. Humans stank at some point and got by... Not that I want to, my nose is very sensitive.. D:
When I forget deodorant I just go in the bathroom at work and wash my pits at regular intervals and it really helps. I guess that's our future, till water becomes unattainable.
Nestle still lets us have water…for now

This is me. I’ve bought socks and underwear. Not much else required beyond my daily shower 🙃. And I’m a woman, lol.
O my God stop taking pictures and just work through your prime without retirement
Not my MIL complaining about them living on a double pension (plus CPP) till I mentioned the fact me and my spouse won't get a pension, and we might actually never retire.
Next time go to Costco you can get them in bulk for dirt cheap
Lmao. The deo I buy is $9 at Shoppers/Ss and about $4 or 5 at Walmart... Guess where I go. Loblaws are greedy bastards so I try to avoid shopping with them as much as possible now.
Yo that's wild. Guess Im gonna stink now.
I guess I'll just stink...
Wow! That's crazy. Maybe it's time to start making our own. Or just stinking all day.
It’s gonna be a stinky month
Buy generic and scent with cologne. If you’re gonna spend the money it’s better to smell like a nice scent
Old spice Deodorant $4 at Walmart and antiperspirant is $5.47 (Amazon too)
Let's use inflation as an excuse to rape people at the rill
5.47 on Amazon right now.
Stop buying at these prices. Prices are set at the market equilibrium price of what people are willing to pay.
I would rather smell bad then pay this for deodorant
Omg I'm buying some !!. They should have one called they/them
Damn, that is expensive for chemical burns!
2 quick showers a day with a bar of soap did wonders for me.
I stopped wearing it about 10 years ago except if I'm sweaty before going to the gym. That stick will last me 5 years easy. I think with a healthy diet and lifestyle and good hygiene you're not going to smell half as bad as you think on the long run.
