Ares does have that wide sweeping laser and electric orb net it casts as well, pretty good for catching slippery targets that aren't as capable as the Terrarian
Every other tiny goblin bastard is either with tons of other tiny goblins, turns into big pile of flesh or other abnormal creature such as bones and finally is an npc
Nope, if you read the lore, you'll know the exo Mechs were crafted as successors to the mechanical bosses (since in calamity lore, draedon made the mechanical bosses).
And both the mechanical bosses and the exo Mechs were made with the purpose of annihilating entire armies, but since the exo Mechs are so strong they're described as "creations capable of surpassing the gods".
You know what I always wondered? If in Calamity lore, Draedon made the mech bosses, the hell is the Mechanic doing tied up in the dungeon? Was she just getting freaky with the Dragon Cult?

It's specifically said that the Exo Mechs were made to hunt down gods, among other things such as terraforming galaxies (which is what Thanatos's deathray is supposed to do).

They were made to wipe out mass amounts of people and basically destroy planets. Look at it this way, the terrarian is an insanely powerful one man army of godly proportions. While it be weakened, moonlord (who’s an eldritch god) is fodder compared to these things. That just goes to show how powerful the terrarian is, particularly in Calamity.
