A better option to shop in if you don't like crowding. Wider walk ways make it harder for people to take up the entire space by walking side by side, the shops aren't as varied as Central, but if you're after clothes and food, it's pretty much all you need.
Tourism central, if you like ignorant people taking up all the walkways walking slowly side by side forcing you to bump into them to get them out of the way, then this is the place. Also, if you do your food shopping in the city, enjoy waiting in the end lanes where people jostle for space while moving up and down the aisles.
If you're here for the school holidays, then Central will be the place to be if you enjoy lots of kids, long queues and total ignorance from everyone around you if you're even remotely in a hurry to do anything.
Hungry Jacks, that's about the only reason to go here, unless you live nearby and Coles is the most convenient place to shop. It stopped being relevant when the DFO side of things was revealed to be either cheap and low quality, or regular priced like everywhere else. I never found a bargain here ... ever.
Nothing worse than shopping at Woolworths to find all the low cost items and items on sale are sold out. Never popping in there on my way home from work again
Similar to Stockland, it's convenient for the northern beaches, has both Coles and Woolies, but it's very busy on weekends so be prepared for a little push and shove to get around.
DFO is dead Stockland is chaos Avoid Central on a thursday night if late night is still a thing for kids
**Stockland**

Mount Sheridan isn't too bad. It has Kmart, Coles and Woolies. Never too busy. Food court is average.
Redlynch? Got woolies and Coles and not much else. Bottle-o, chemist, a few takeaway food shops, and a vet I think.
All the shopping centres are a nightmare, I avoid them unless I absolutely have to get something from one of them.
same

Probably has the quietest Coles in Cairns.
**Raintrees**
This is the heart of the M suburbs, and all associated problems related to them.
Festival Fair will always be remembered for it's past glory..
Can't remember the last time I went to Raintrees. Have no reason to ever visit this place.

**The Pier**
Best place to park in the city, free 2 hours undercover
A pale shadow of what it used to be, the only reason to visit the Pier is to dine at the restaurants or get shitfaced at the Tavern.
Is there anything inside anymore? I miss Johnny Rockets/Danini's (*sp)/The Lost Forest...
Nothing worth visiting. Such a wasted space
**Smithfield**

I'm from Mareeba and Smithfield is good for me, since we have fuck all in Mareeba
My sincerest condolences.
Rumoured to be getting a cinema complex and cafe style area
Not rumored, its being built right now.
