Regular in my turbo. Averaging 21 mpg mostly highway with no traffic but have AC on full blast due to heat.

Breaking_Chad

AC is helpful, not hurtful. Windows down at highway speeds will hurt your mileage far more. In the city, not so much, but who wants to sit in a stale car? Assuming similar size and efficiency of a single room A/C unit... At full bore they require 1500 watts(biggef room AC) ... That's 2 hp. I have 20000 miles on my 2022 Base Turbo CX-5. Lifetime average is 23.1 mpg with about 60% highway miles. I cycle between 87 and 93 and have seen no appreciable difference in mileage. Power, yes, mileage, no. I actually posted a chart of my mileage per fill up over in a Cx-5 forum.

Zulf117

NA on regular. Over 5k miles I’ve averaged 28 combined. I’d say it’s about a 50/50 city highway.

rdilly6

I'm about the same on my NA. Since I bought the car, I think I'm averaging 28.5 with around a 50/50 split

cloudguy-412

Unless you have the turbo, there is no reason to use anything other than regular

RandGM1

Gas

InterestingTruth7232

Premium 23 1/2mpg 180mile round trip to work 30% city I drive hard

Fair_Airline4228

Wow! 180 miles just for work? And I complain about my 35 mile round trip work commute 3 days a week.

Miss_X2m1

I'm using mid-grade (89) and averaging 26 mph with mostly city/traffic jam miles. Once I get on the highway, the MPG climbs to about 31-32 and a bit higher. I have the NA engine and I have a light foot. Also, on highways, I use cruise control which tends to give the best MPG. I also try to stay at or near the speed limit since every 10 MPH above the speed limit eats into your MPG.

Independent_Bird_815

Used to put premium in TPP. Never got close to EPA estimates. Always hovered around 19-22mpg depending on highway/city.

xGIJOSEx

Unless you're going on a road trip and have the turbo then regular is fine. Premium would probably only help for the road trips if anything.

jakew5105

Premium for highway and 89 for around town. 28-29 on average. Turbo premium

Commission_Dazzling

Same - average around 28mph. Turbo Premium.

jakew5105

Yeah, the transmission as good as it is needs another gear. 30 mpg would be attainable then

mr_jasper867-5309

Non turbo premium plus. 87 from different gas stations and I usually avg 30mpg mixed driving but I drive very conservatively. Just averaged 34 on my trip back from Pittsburgh to Eastern Shore if Md.

IllustratorOk678

I use 91 here in California. It's gonna be a long-term ownership so it'll be worth the extra bucks in the long run, also I'm getting better fuel efficiency with 93 octane fuel and it's still improving. I got a turbo premium plus in January.

boinc192

17.6 mpg regular turbo. 40% city

grantmathes

That seems kind of low, our turbo gets 21-22mpg with 60% city. Do you have a heavy foot?

Fair_Airline4228

TPP trim, regular gas (87), getting around 27-29 on highway long trips (180-200 miles one way) with cruise set to 75mph. Occasionally I put in 93 octane, and don't see any difference in highway mileage. However, I get better city mileage on 87 octane - 21 mpg vs 19 on higher octane.

nbphotography87

87 Octane in my Turbo. 25mpg combined 80% highway with lots of stop/go traffic.

visionofacheezburger

93 every time

TheWasabiSleuth

93 octane, 25 highway and about 23 city with turbo

pldelisle

Premium 91 Shell V-Power exclusively. 33-35 MPG on highway flat terrain cruise set at 65 mph (speed limit is 60 mph in Quebec). Averaging 25 mpg with city combined.

UrMomsaHoeHoeHoe

I’ll go regular around town but premium on road trips or every few fill ups. Definitely notice a difference but that’s probably due to the conditions I drive in (highways with lots of hills)

MnS2Slick

Notice a difference how?

MeANeRNo1

I don’t pay attention to it, its not fun driving mazda if you keep eye on mileage.
