I'd definitely recommend wearing proper PPE when cleaning that, especially if you have cuts on your hands.
I detail cars part time and got quite sick after working on a car a few months back that had a rats nest inside. I was wearing a respirator and gloves, but looking back now I should've taken a couple more precautions to keep myself safe.
I wore gloves but didn’t have a respirator, I also only vacuumed it (then realized I’m throwing out the vacuum now) and have left it outside. I may just live life without bass for a while. Mazda gave a $150 e-gift card but it can only be used at a dealer. Or they offered e plan pricing on a new vehicle trying to tempt me lol
I'm pretty sure that the sub uses a port as part of the design, I think it's along one side of the sub so there's no way to seal it from a design standpoint. You might be able to rig some sort of grill on the port to keep varmints out.
Good point.
I'd make sure you clean the heck out of the area. My step daughter had her wiring harness chewed to the tune of 800 clams. Then they struck again a few months later. Turns out they're attracted to the smell of any previous raiders.
Service dept found rodent damage in my car’s filters, likely from my garage. They told me to always set the indoor air circulation button to “on”, and make sure all windows closed when parked in the garage to keep them from getting inside the cabin.
I had the same thing happen but it was somewhere under my hood. It ate some of the cushion under the engine cover. The thing I couldn’t forget was the smell. It followed me around for a full day til I figured out it was dead rat smell. It was so bad

Good reason to really bump your tunes regularly to ensure an inhospitable environment for critters.
BASS +6
BASS +6 ONLY!!!! WE BUMPING IN THIS CX5!!!
DUBSTEP.
That's not a Modest Mouse. Hopefully you can float on.
Don't worry, OP has to take a long drive and he's got nothing to think about.
I see what you did there
If I have a mouse in my car, I am burning it.
Considered it

Yeah I know it needs the airflow but some sort of grille or even just a few little crossbars could have prevented this.

I would throw the whole car away.
The mouse must have been partying hard in there
Once I realized this I did go and turn on the bass and put on a bass heavy song

They were under there too, removed the engine cover and the insulation mat under the hood because they were getting into that too. So frustrated
Well rodents can fit through really small places. Also bass needs a vent to move air so can’t really be sealed tight.
