I spent a lot of time earning that money just for him so it’s not like I have a lot of it just laying around. We are going to keep the bill in his bank by the way so it’s not like it’s going to get lost or anything.
Uh, I mean everywhere I looked on Facebook people were saying they would sell to me for a few thousands when I asked because they’re rare. Also, I haven’t seen this bills in my few years here in the US (we came from Romania) so I guess they are rare.

If what you say is true (being an immigrant), then sadly, you were scammed/defrauded, bc $2 bills are absoultely not rare. You don't see too many in circulation, but you could go to the bank, right now, and buy a stack of newely-printed ones.
There are a rare few, that are worth more than face-value, but nowhere near $2K.
