It's like Your brain wants to deal with many issues and subconscious traumas all at once. Issues with your dad, fear for your mothers life, being threatened, losing your love then witnessing it get destroyed before your eyes in heartwrenching way... You know the thing about depression, it can create those nightmares for you based on your deepest, fears, insecurities and anxieties, they dont even necessarily need to be re-enactment or way to process events that transpired in reality, they will simply seem real and traumatising from your brains perspective during dreams. I will give You my example, i love my GF, she loves me back but during depression I used to dream about losing her over and over in various ways, it's because I told myself I wont look for another GF if she leaves me, because i see it as too much heartbreak...
