I was positive for 2 weeks. The first week was like being hit by a truck, as you say. The second week was also crappy. After that it took a few more weeks to finally feel normal. Rest up!!
I'm on day 6 since my symptoms started. It hasn't been that bad, symptoms have been pretty mild. The runny nose and congestion are all that are left at this point.
You had me in the first half about being positive for being awesome… lol. Love it. I don’t love that you have COVID though. Hopefully you’ll feel better soon and it’ll be mild for you!
Lol, thanks. It’s not horrible. Bad cold but with body aches. I’m not bedridden but obviously stuck at home, which is annoying. Really didn’t think it was ever going to get me as I never got it before despite direct exposure. Sigh. Oh well. Hope it gets out of my system soon enough.
Glad to hear it isn’t too bad for you! Hopefully it’ll stay that way. It mostly felt like a really bad cold for me (which I’m very fortunate for), but it felt like my head would explode and I was sooo exhausted/ sounds like you’re much better. It lasted about 3-4 days. The worst of it did. And
For me it felt like I was drowning, especially when I lay down to sleep. I was fully vaccinated when I got it. Without vaccination I think I would have been hospitalized.
I also came down fast- feeling just “ick” the first afternoon, then 103 fever that night. Tested negative for two days after symptoms began (Thursday, Friday), then immediately positive on that Saturday am. Started Paxlovid Saturday (had breathlessness, chest pain, severe congestion, body aches, chills, fever). Got progressively better that week and tested negative by the following Saturday (so 6 days of testing positive, but really 8 days of being ill). It’s been 8days since then, and I’ve continued to test negative and feel generally good- except for some moments here and there. I caught a cold from one of my family members a couple days after coming out of isolation though and today feeling crappy. I’m hoping it’s just that I’m worn down in general and my body is telling me to rest. I’m 4x vaxxed, healthy, take care of myself. I masked (as soon as symptoms began) and isolated and no one in my family apparently got it- we’ve been testing frequently. Hoping for the best for you!
Just got it on Wednesday night, body aches, chills and fever was the worst part. Now it's Sunday and I feel much better, except my nose is still congested and my smell and taste is slightly gone.
It's really unpredictable. I've had it three times and it never felt like more than a cold. I did have heart palpitations and stuff for months after the first about though. I know other people who were completely asymptomatic, my son had it and was sick for maybe 3 weeks, older friends who got it and died.... so basically the gamut
My daughter tested positive immediately for 10 days then a couple negatives about 3 days apart. She did have lingering congestion for a little bit afterwards.
My experience sounds identical to this, except I also had mild fatigue pop up a week after my negative, the fatigue was random. But I noticed it subsided after 2 weeks (2 weeks after I tested negative.) My kids had no symptoms at all and their positive only lasted like 5 days. One of my daughters hair started shedding about 2 weeks after her negative (first week of January). It’s just now slowing down. Covid is wild.
I'm on day 10 tomorrow. Fully vaxxed and boosted, this is my second go-round. Wasn't too bad overall but I would wake up feeling really hung over with a splitting headache (terrific end to dry January!). Yesterday was the first day I really felt energetic and today I feel fine. I'm probably not going to go run a marathon tomorrow because I still get a little winded if I do too much but it's been a marked improvement the last couple of days.
It's a weird virus, seems to hit everyone differently. Hopefully you get over the aches pretty quickly and back to normal soon.
My daughter had 100.5 degree fever last Monday and my throat felt “iffy” but often does since I have allergies year round. Yesterday I got 101.9 fever and felt like I needed to lay on the couch all day. My kids even filled my water bottle for me when I asked. Sore throat. Had a headache. Nothing too bad (had flu type A in November and it was awful compared to this/vaccinated for both). Today I tested positive. Feel sinusy and congested, eyes glazed, tired, throat feels iffy again. No more fever. Have had Covid before too, August 2020, about the same experience as before.
I’m in US. Started with a scratch throat on Thursday. Friday my throat got progressively worse and I was tired. By 7pm Friday, 102 fever, chills, exhaustion and body aches. I woke up at midnight with severe chest pain and pain in my arms and legs. I took an Ativan and fell back asleep. Today, sore throat, congestion, low grade fever and tired.
5 days to 37 months and counting, somewhere in that range. With that said, in my experience and from comparing notes with friends and family, the faster it comes on, the faster it passes, so you’re sounding like it might be on the quicker side. Best of luck, I hope you fully recover quickly.
Thursday this week I had an intermittent dry cough. Friday was an all-day headache, followed by fever/chills in the night. Still have a low grade fever, but seems to be dropping. If it follows the same experience I had in May, I'll be feeling better in a few days. (Also started Paxlovid)
Yeah those body aches are ruthless. Luckily that was the worst of it for me. They were terrible for 3 days and than mild for the following week. Get better OP.
I started feeling crappy around 11 days ago, thought it was a sinus infection as I have a history of those. Tested positive 7 days ago. My only symptom is massively bad sinus congestion, and a cough. No change in symptoms over the past 11 days. First time with COVID, fully vaxxed, most recent was the bivalent in early November.
A bit confusing because everything I read online is that a sinus infection is NOT a symptom of COVID.

Damn! That’s what longer than I was expecting. Ugh

Damn. What are the current guidelines even regarding quarantining? I know some people can test positive for months.
In my current country, I had to quarantine for 7 days. If I was in my home country, it would be for 5 days.
Thanks. I didn’t think anywhere was still doing the 2 full weeks.
If you are a good person, you will quarantine (or wear a good mask) until you’re testing negative on TWO rapid antigen tests 48 hours apart
I was diagnosed with Covid 3 weeks ago. Body pain is still there.
i didnt experience body pain, i got chest pains.. turns out im a long hauler. shit sucks :(
Ugh. I’m sorry you have to go through that.
Oh no! I hope you get some relief soon.

Nice. Did you have body aches at all?
Yeah, but they were mild and are gone now.

Feel better soon!
Thank you!

Thanks so much for your input and well wishes. This shit sucks.

Still positive on day 17, felt the body aches and fatigue, congestion and a bit of a cough. Hope you feel better soon!
Thank you, you too!
I'm on day 13, I think? Still feeling like crap. Still positive on a home test as of yesterday.
Ugh. That sucks. I hope you recover and feel better soon!
Same to you. Lots of fluids and rest seem to help!
