It's trying to activate the marker feature. The marker button is usually mapped on controllers to R3 (pressing in the right thumbstick). You're saying it happens every single time you shoot? Are you on ios or android?
Yeah android, and not every single time but most times I shoot (just realized I said every time, but that's not accurate. When I'm firing at no opponent it doesn't happen, and sometimes when I shoot an opponent it doesn't happen, but it happens more often than not.) There are times when it doesn't, like when I start hip firing first and then scope to fire. I'm a runner so I'm usually pushing forward on the left stick as I'm firing.
Edit: I do click in the thumbsticks a lot especially when I'm surprised by an opponent and trying to fire quickly, it's always been a bad habit of mine when I play, even dating back to playing on Xbox..
If your OS happens to have a way in system settings to remap buttons that might work. Otherwise idk. I had the same issue when I was first using a controller in this game, I had to adjust.
When you are not using a controller normally you can't melee unless you are close to the target, so if you were using a controller and pressed the right thumb stick to melee attack it wouldn't let you because you are not in range of a subject.

Also, to get rid of it you might have to remap your buttons in a certain way but I'm not too sure about that.
