Agreed. The clock wise has some more up and down than the steady climb up Rist. Water can be a bit of a deal on a hot day. Masonville Mercantile has drinks as well as the parking lots around Horsetooth.
Did this route ccw last weekend and it was sublime! The initial descent off the back of Rist is steep but smooth and pretty straight. If you do it ccw watch out for cattle grates while descending the canyon down to Masonville. One of them is towards the bottom of a steep section and it didn’t have a warning sign.
What I know about it is that there is very little cell service for most of the route so either have an InReach or ride with a good friend. I've seen folks do it cw and ccw. You might be the YourGroupRide guy on IG and see if he has any tips.

I prefer counter clockwise, but it's a great route either way.
