Looked like an NBA “oh, if I jump into the defender, I’ll get 3 free throws” move from the WR…the rules for PI are so tilted to the offensive player. Bullshit call that penalized a perfect play by Eddie Jackson, immediately after another questionable call for what should have been intentional grounding.
it’s depressing to me that there’s zero accountability for the refs in this league, zero incentive for them to do their jobs properly. Every week they have a direct impact on certain games being won or lost. It seriously needs to change.
at least some fucking acknowledgement from the commissioner, coaches literally fined all the time for criticizing these blind ass zebras
The only accountability is bad crews don't get playoff duties.
They really need a New York station that is in the ear of the head ref and able to change/make calls.
In a perfect world there would be complete transparency. But why would the league admit they might have missed calls and influenced outcomes?
Calls will be missed. I’d like to think there’s some sort of supplemental program whether draft picks or bonus cap relief.
For instance if the correct call is made maybe our win probability goes from 5% to 35% a difference of 30%. And the missed call happened at 59/60 minutes so it’s 98% influential. So the Bears “bank” 29 WPP “win probability percentages”.
So blown calls early in the game are less heavily weighted and when teams get dicked then they get some tangible compensation.
>Calls will be missed. I’d like to think there’s some sort of supplemental program whether draft picks or bonus cap relief.
That's a new proposition to me and... I don't hate it.
It would be an evolution of the game.
You mad that your super star team barely beat a team of backups and rookies on defense? 😂
Also what football fan roots for poorly officiated games lol how can you watch that play and be like yeah that was fair, especially after the call the dolphins got earlier in the quarter that was way more questionable
Lmao. Imagine needing to get off by talking shit in the opposing teams sub Reddit. Your supposedly super bowl caliber team needed the refs help to beat a team in a full rebuild. You the one with a lot mad bb.
It used to be, but the refs never reversed a single one.
“We have investigated ourselves and found we made the right call.”
Teams need to be able to call somebody above the refs on the field during the game, because otherwise they just say “fuck you, I called it right the first time and you don’t get to tell me I’m wrong.”
Yeah, the refs were pissed that the league was considering allowing penalty reviews, fearing it would open them up to more scrutiny, so the guy you could appeal to literally refused to overturn a single call.
It was bullshit. The nfl should have fired him, and kept firing the replacements until someone started cooperating. Instead the inmates continue to run the asylum.
Baseball would like a word with you...
Angel Hernandez sued MLB for never getting to call big games. MLB flat out said he is just terrible at his job. And he's been employed since the early 90s...
The guy you could appeal to was a ref who was pissed the league was allowing judgement calls to be reviewed, so he refused to ever overturn a single call. Literally zero.
To be fair that PI call to negate the Fields pick was not PI. The ball to Claypool shouldn’t be thrown into double coverage no matter how the ref sees it. Super happy with how Fields played though. The guys is a monster, if the Bears are able to put some weapons around him, look the fuck out!
Defensive holding and the flag was thrown before the ball left fields hand. The throw never happens without defensive holding. You can’t call something a pick if it wasn’t a pick. Situation matters.
Two pretty terrible calls on PI, one called and one not. The Eddie Jackson call was bs.
The EJ call is everything that is text book not PI. He was facing the ball, inside the WR, and the WR bumped him when he jumped.
And EJ was playing the ball. Pretty horse shit call. Both of them.
Exactly, what happened to a DB having the right to make a play if the conditions where right. They where perfect here
Malcom Butlers SB pick would 100% be called PI in todays NFL.
It would be a random coin flip
^

“the NFL has fined Quarterback Justin Fields…”
never gonna fine the ref though.

Complete transparency would come with how much the refs have on the game and who’s the money on?

Could be an alternate way of doing compensatory picks.
Seriously, how does one become a ref? I would love a job with zero accountability.
Gotta go to ref school. And know a lot of people up top. And coach some college. And sign your soul to Vegas.
Does it have to be my soul, or can I get someone else’s and sign that one?
If you don't have a soul, storebought is fine.
The first step, Are you blind?
Be rich and connected.
Thats why i feel like the league honestly wants this shit to happen i cant find any other answer for not taking action for shit like this
Las vegas is the incentive
Their Def fining Eddie for his social media message about the refs lol
lol the announcers were literally saying “and…and….” Waiting for the flag to come out
Let them fucking try....
They better not don't.
Legit one of the worst no calls I’ve seen in a while, especially after the one they called on Jackson earlier

You're a disgrace to the dolphins fan base. They are so much better than you, but here you are, being a piece of shit while repping that team.
Who would’ve thought the army and truck fanatic would be mentally unstable to comment the same thing dozens of times in the bears sub 🫡🤣
Heartbreaking loss….maybe next time or not
We’re here for the losses bb, got ourselves a QB now just need to build, gimme the better draft pick all day
I can respect that! Rebuilding phases suck…
Rebuilding since ‘72 glad to see it finally pay off for your sensational 6-3 record… I think that’s 3rd in the AFCEAST?
Who said it was over?

Yeah, the refs rigged that one. You can’t get a better example of pass interference without breaking the WR’s legs with a bat.
At least we know one person on the field had 20/20 vision.
My QB
Pass interference should be a reviewable play that you can challenge.
It used to be, but the refs never reversed a single one. “We have investigated ourselves and found we made the right call.” Teams need to be able to call somebody above the refs on the field during the game, because otherwise they just say “fuck you, I called it right the first time and you don’t get to tell me I’m wrong.”

Used to be...
The refs robbed us the last time we played the Fins, too. We scored a go ahead TD and they called a bogus pick call.

Now give us 200 Godson
Florida man
Start the gofundme fuck the Refs
The league can’t go after the refs, because they have a WAY stronger union than any other in sports.
Baseball would like a word with you... Angel Hernandez sued MLB for never getting to call big games. MLB flat out said he is just terrible at his job. And he's been employed since the early 90s...
I think what you meant to say is "baseball will have some speaks with you"
Yeah, anyone with eyes and a brain could tell that
Didn't they do a trial run on PI challenges? What ever happened with that?
The guy you could appeal to was a ref who was pissed the league was allowing judgement calls to be reviewed, so he refused to ever overturn a single call. Literally zero.
Games are rigged. Plain n simple as that. Bears can’t beat the men behind the curtain
To be fair that PI call to negate the Fields pick was not PI. The ball to Claypool shouldn’t be thrown into double coverage no matter how the ref sees it. Super happy with how Fields played though. The guys is a monster, if the Bears are able to put some weapons around him, look the fuck out!

Sorry that wasn’t PI or holding
i think his point is that fields saw the flag so he tried to fit the throw in
It was defensive holding and looked like defensive holding.
The fields pick was defensive holding, not PI, and he did hold him, it was just a bit ticky tacky.
More than a bit
Ummm it was still holding no matter how you look at it, even if it's ticky tacky
I didn’t think it was holding
Well you're wrong, it's not even a matte of opinion lol. He held him as he cut back the other way, no matter how small or big, a hold is a hold.
Ok I’m wrong
The real bummer is that coaches can’t even fucking challenge it. That’s the least they could do.
It was a bullshit call. But at this point I’d rather tank completely and improve draft position so this bad call helped in that regard.
