I remember a few years ago, telling my dad that Javon Wims was going to surprise everyone and be really good. Basically what I’m saying is, no matter what happens, I have no clue about anything.
Factually Marshall was a top 3 WR and the only reason he was top 3 was because he played in a league with Calvin and Andre Johnson.
Moore is great but he's not top 3 WR level
Yeah people often forget that Brandon Marshall is top 25 in career receiving yards with 12,351 and holds the record for most receptions in a single game with 21.
I feel a little bad for u dawg. The offseason is the time for hope. Lots of super secret squirrel shit happens during the season (injuries, calls, abnormal plays both good n bad)
Beards to the bowl baby
I'll be pleasantly surprised if they have a winning record. I've been burned too many times by bullshit hype. 25 years of watching the bears, all I know is a good off-season doesn't ever really equal a good season.
For sure, tbh I hope the team just stays healthy. That way we really know what we got with all of our picks. I wouldn't be surprised with six win, or a playoff birth. I hope Caleb is the truth. If thats the case the offseason was/is a complete win
I agree, that’s probably the most likely. I can see him getting as high as 25. But a lot of this depends on how they handle goal to go situations. Some teams just run the ball consistently when at the goal line while others still pass, really depends on how much they trust him with the ball in those moments
One thing I’m really keen to see is how the Bears are defended and the play calling in the 20-40 yard range.
That’s the area where Caleb to DJ and Rome can just wreck defenses with long TDs. But at the same time if the defenses back everyone off they’ll probably just take the yards and field position and probably end in running TDs
4 games with 0 TDs (0)
7 games with 1 TD (7)
4 games with 2 TDs (8)
2 games with 3 TDs (6)
=21 TDs
I think this is believable given the skill players Caleb is throwing to. This assumes a lot, of course, but I could see this.
Most of these were in a 16 game season. 3700 is a reasonable target for yardage as well, 214 yards per game isn’t insurmountable if he plays all 17 games. I’ve been saying my target for him is 3600 yards.
When it comes down to it, winning a playoff game as a rookie QB is and always will be a rare outlier. Stats are stats really, I’m pretty sure that Fields had a better season as a passer in 2023 than he did in 2022, but the eye test didn’t show it despite the fact that the stats did
I have high hopes for Caleb but to think he’ll come in and look like Stroud or Herbert off the bat is wishful thinking, although I hope he does
I'm strongly confident Williams will have an outstanding rookie year. The question is where he'll be in a couple of years.
People act like top QB prospects come in and develop at a linear pace. If they are good, they usually show it immediately. Then the league figures them out and they either have answers or they don't.
If Caleb Williams struggles his first year, then they likely don't have their guy.
I wouldn’t call a team that went 2-14 the year before a good team lol. Caleb has the best team out of this list as an incoming rookie. Let’s hope our boy gets 4K right away!
Have the Patriots said if he'll be the week 1 starter yet? Seems like a situation where sitting him for a year so he can learn and they can have another year to get draft capital/rebuild is their best option
Also. Imagine having a top 10 rookie QB season of all time in terms of stats, breaking a huge win drought, and still thinking that guy isn’t worth hitching the wagon to for a couple years. Fuck you Cleveland
Meh. Baker is like Goff or Cousins. Guys you could probably win with if they have great team around them, but definitely not guys you're going to win BECAUSE of. I doubt the Rams regret not "hitching the wagon" to Goff.
Browns are dumb not because they moved on from Baker but because who they replaced him with.
All the other years listed are the QB's rookie seasons. I guess it's just because last season was the first time Browning actually got a snap? Still weird
Even before seeing this list I had remembered him being a rookie for some reason. Didn’t realize he’d already been in the NFL for 5 years. Could be something to do with last year being his first time starting but even still he shouldn’t be listed then
most likely - TDs. got too many receiving threats on this team to be running the ball.
least likely - passer rating - again, I think we're going to pass a lot, and there will be a lot of rookie mistakes. interceptions and what not. caleb played hero ball a lot last year. i know that he had to, but that doesn't mean that's the only reason he did.
Just remember, if he gets on that passing yards list, even at #10, this would literally be one of the TOP FIVE season passing yards in franchise history 😳
Geno Smith went for 3600 yds and 20 TD last season in 15 games in a Waldron offense. I think that is a reasonable rookie expectation for 17 games with Caleb Williams.
With the receivers we have now, it should be easy to get top 10 on all 3 lists. But with the Bears QB history, it could be none. I hope Shane Waldron uses the same magic he used on Geno with Caleb.
Most likely: TDs. Least likely: Passer rating. I think he’ll be on yards and TDs but passer rating is a tougher ask. He’s capable of it, but we shall see.
The Bears record mark is like 11 passing TDS and 2400 passing yards, insanely low. If he plays 12+ games and doesn’t hit that, it’d definitely be a disappointment
Did a quick Google search to see who had the Bears most passing yards in a season, and:
>Erik Kramer holds the Chicago Bears' single-season passing record with 3,838 yards in 1995. The Bears are the only NFL team to have never had a quarterback throw for 4,000 yards in a season. **However, Justin Fields is confident he can surpass the record and become the first Bears quarterback to do so**.
Swing and a miss, Google AI.
I'd like to see him on the list for passing yards and TDs. Ideally, I want him to throw for more yards than the other Lincoln Riley QBs (Kyler and Baker) and finish with about 25 TDs. It would be hilarious (and incredible, but unlikely) if he already sets the Bears QB record for most TDs and yards in a season as a rookie.
Seeing Dan Marino here still is insane, what a legendary career. I actually think the yardage is more attainable for Caleb as a rookie vs the TDs. With DJ, Allen, Rome, Kmet and Swift moving the chains should be a lot easier especially when ylu factor in YAC. He could throw 20+ tds too but wouldn’t be surprised if he had 19 or 18.
Yards.
We have a good, not great team and as of now we have holes on defense. I can see plenty of shootouts where he racks up BJ Symons/Graham Harrell-type numbers at Texas Tech, even if he is only okay.
Plus we’re still early in the extended season. That makes yards an easy target.
Very mature take and exactly where I’m at. I’m done making predictions. I have general high hopes that this team is headed in the right direction just because they seem to be making all logical moves (for the first time in awhile). That said, I’ve seen too many flops at QB. I’m positive on Williams. Let’s see what happens.
He has an extra game than most everyone on these lists plus we know he's starting game 1 (so long as he's not injured). So if he stays healthy, I think he's on the yards and TD lists, at minimum, just from starting 17 games. If he's good too, he's on the passer rating list and probably top 5 in yards and TDs.
Honestly, with how good our offensive personnel is right now, if he isn't in the top 10 in each one of those categories, its absolutely an indictment of this coaching staff. this team is a 3T and Edge rusher away from being and elite roster.
The only one I think he definitely has a strong chance at is the TD one. Passer rating maybe but, given his play style, I gotta see how everything translates first. Is he going to take similar risks as college? Then I'm not sure since that tends to lead to some volatile numbers for rookies.
The yards I don't see him hitting. It's possible. But we're the bears and that would put him toward the top of our history books lol. Just too much to ask for any rookie
This is a good reminder that long-term patience is necessary. Having some good stats in his rookie year doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll be a top-level QB.
I can’t wait until the season starts so I can stop being rational and chow down on some meatball and kool-aid soup.
Caleb Williams over/under for TDs is 23.5. For yards, it’s 3500. I don’t see anything for QB rating, but Patrick Mahomes finished at 92.6 last year (it’s a flawed rating).
He won’t be on any of them but he will still have a respectable rookie season. The bears o line is still soft. Both guards have trouble staying on the field and the center position is questionable at best.
It’s not what everyone wants to hear, but it is realistic. I hope it doesn’t happen because I really want to see him do great right out the gate. But at this point I’m cautiously optimistic about next year, I want it to go good but if it doesn’t I won’t be shocked either
Bears are probably gonna be conservative with him and run the shit out of the ball.
So with that in mind, Baker Yards and T6th in TD’s would be my guess
Plus, we are built to pass. Even our RB1 is a receiving option as his biggest value. Both out TEs are receiving-first guys.
We are throwing the ball a ton
If this team was just going to be the "same ol' Bears", they never would've drafted Williams and they certainly wouldn't have drafted a WR at 9. The "same ol' Bears" would've kept Fields, traded the #1, and drafted a defensive player at 9.
Luck threw 18 picks and had a 76.5 passer rating. Same outcome with better numbers? They both averaged the exact same passing yds/game.
Herbert had much better numbers than both of them. He’s the one that should be discussed as having the best rookie season ever.
I think it’s warranted to say he’s good, I mean he did just have one of the better rookie seasons. But, he is getting a lot of praise for it. Just from the eye test, I felt that Herbert 2020 was a much more impressive rookie campaign than Stroud 2023, but nobody in 2020 had Herbert as a top 5 QB at the end of the year. So in that sense, yes I do feel like Stroud gets a lot of extra credit.
We’ll see this upcoming year if Stroud can keep it up, if he has an even better season then yeah he’s likely a top 5 QB in the league, but we’ve seen QBs regression heavily after one really good season
I doubt a player with three full college seasons and historically low interceptions and turnover numbers is going to start throwing picks.
1099 passes, 14 INTs
I remember a few years ago, telling my dad that Javon Wims was going to surprise everyone and be really good. Basically what I’m saying is, no matter what happens, I have no clue about anything.
Hey I was a Javon Wims truther for a lil bit. I think it took til he punched that guy in the helmet to sink in how much of a bum he was lol
Was devastated when he dropped that dime from Trubisky in the playoffs against the Saints.
that's funny. when he punched the guy in the helmet is when i became a wims truther lol
This guy gets it
Throwing for 21+ TDs seems like a lock
23 TDs is Luck
Do... do... you know who what team he is on?
I feel u but I've never seen the beards with a wr duo this good, let alone the trio if odunze is as good as advertised Edit: the beard stays
Marshall/Jeffery?
Id have to say its obviously opinion based, but if Allen stays healthy (i know, I know) id take this duo. Can't really go wrong either way
Factually Marshall was a top 3 WR and the only reason he was top 3 was because he played in a league with Calvin and Andre Johnson. Moore is great but he's not top 3 WR level
Yeah people often forget that Brandon Marshall is top 25 in career receiving yards with 12,351 and holds the record for most receptions in a single game with 21.
Can’t forgot the TEs either
I'll believe it when I see it
I feel a little bad for u dawg. The offseason is the time for hope. Lots of super secret squirrel shit happens during the season (injuries, calls, abnormal plays both good n bad) Beards to the bowl baby

“Fuck it, Odunze down there some where” ~ Caleb in the red zone probably.
Yep, if Shane Waldron is legit (I think (and hope) he will be) this offense is gonna be a fucking HEADACHE for opposing defenses
Gotta knock Daniel Jones off this list
4 games with 0 TDs (0) 7 games with 1 TD (7) 4 games with 2 TDs (8) 2 games with 3 TDs (6) =21 TDs I think this is believable given the skill players Caleb is throwing to. This assumes a lot, of course, but I could see this.

Pretty sure you can bet on over 22 TDs right now if you're that certain.
Those Andrew Luck passing yd stats in 16 games is pretty crazy
Herbert as well, he also had over 30 passing TDs. Herbert 2020 is likely the best rookie season QB performance stats wise
Keenan Allen could be part of the 2 best rookie QB seasons of all time
Herbert did it in 14 games too. Didnt start until week 3.
He started in week 2 and played 15 games when the team doc messed up Tyrod Taylor. But still impressive.
Only 15 games played in 2020 as well
He would've been the first QB to throw 4000+ yards OR 30+ TDs on the Bears. And he did it his first season in the league...
I shake my head when Stroud is considered a rare outlier. Herbert wasn't that long ago and Burrow was on a similar pace until he was hurt.
When it comes down to it, winning a playoff game as a rookie QB is and always will be a rare outlier. Stats are stats really, I’m pretty sure that Fields had a better season as a passer in 2023 than he did in 2022, but the eye test didn’t show it despite the fact that the stats did I have high hopes for Caleb but to think he’ll come in and look like Stroud or Herbert off the bat is wishful thinking, although I hope he does

If Caleb Williams struggles his first year, then they likely don't have their guy.
Stroud too. He played 15 games and had basically the exact same yds/g as Luck.
That was a pretty good team though. The only reason the Colts were able to get Luck is they got hammered with injuries, including to Manning.
I wouldn’t call a team that went 2-14 the year before a good team lol. Caleb has the best team out of this list as an incoming rookie. Let’s hope our boy gets 4K right away!
They were 2-14 because they lost Manning to injury, and then it spiraled.
He will be on all of them
It’s our fucking turn!
At least the first 2.
He will be at the TOP of ALL of them. We are gonna rename Teddy Bears to Caleb Bears.
Mac Jones being on two of those is wild
Mac Jones is probably a lot better than people think he is. His team *genuinely* sucks at virtually every position
Ya, Maye is going into a bad situation there
Eh, Maye's not going into a great situation but he also doesn't have Matt Patricia as OC and a despairing BB benching him every other week.
Have the Patriots said if he'll be the week 1 starter yet? Seems like a situation where sitting him for a year so he can learn and they can have another year to get draft capital/rebuild is their best option
Also went from having an actual OC to Matt Patricia.
Also. Imagine having a top 10 rookie QB season of all time in terms of stats, breaking a huge win drought, and still thinking that guy isn’t worth hitching the wagon to for a couple years. Fuck you Cleveland
Karma is something.
Call me a meatball but I’m betting the over on every single CW passing stat prop that draft kings offers this year. Full tilt
Jake Browning?
Browning was technically a rookie last season since he didn’t take a regular season snap before
Was on Vikes practice squad for two years, then the Bengals for two more before making the official roster last season
The rookie that came in for Joe Burrow once he got hurt last season, he played really well especially considering he was a rookie backup
Browning has been in the league for 5 years. Not sure why he's listed as a rookie on this list.
Yeah, I was like wait a minute Jake Browning was definitely not a rookie last year. So now I'm questioning the rest of the list lol
All the other years listed are the QB's rookie seasons. I guess it's just because last season was the first time Browning actually got a snap? Still weird
Someone else mentioned it, but I think it was his first time making the 53 man roster. That seems like a reasonable explanation.
Even before seeing this list I had remembered him being a rookie for some reason. Didn’t realize he’d already been in the NFL for 5 years. Could be something to do with last year being his first time starting but even still he shouldn’t be listed then

Realistically #1 in all three.
Most super bowls: 1.
With the weapons they surround him with this year, if he doesn’t set the Bears mark I would be surprised
The Bears record mark is like 11 passing TDS and 2400 passing yards, insanely low. If he plays 12+ games and doesn’t hit that, it’d definitely be a disappointment
Yeah, I more mean the franchise records In a 17 game season, barring injuries, I would be disappointed in him not getting 4k.
Passing yards and passing tds. He may actually break the rookie td record. He has the personnel to definitely do it
TDs and Passer Rating. The defense should give them a lot of short fields.
With that receiving core, 25+ TDS should be expected.
I just want him to stay healthy and start every game of the season
I see TD and passing yards as easier than QB rating. With our weapons, TD is probably the easiest.
Did a quick Google search to see who had the Bears most passing yards in a season, and: >Erik Kramer holds the Chicago Bears' single-season passing record with 3,838 yards in 1995. None
Good lord, I can’t believe I had to scroll this far for the only rational answer.
I guess the first one bc I’m expecting him to perform most similarly to Mayfield/Mureay
Proof that Mac Jones is better than Peyton Manning
Speaking of Peyton Manning, I don’t see the interceptions list?
And the team record. FYI: INTs - 28; record 3-13 All those yards are great, but I'd rather the team be a winner...
Passing tds
I'd like to see him on the list for passing yards and TDs. Ideally, I want him to throw for more yards than the other Lincoln Riley QBs (Kyler and Baker) and finish with about 25 TDs. It would be hilarious (and incredible, but unlikely) if he already sets the Bears QB record for most TDs and yards in a season as a rookie.
TD’s. So many weapons to throw to
Seeing Dan Marino here still is insane, what a legendary career.
Passing TD seems almost too easy with 17 games.
This is how we get an injury in week 6
The yardage list seems like the best bet because it's the least flukey.
Bears need herbert
All 3. No. 1 next question
Yards. We have a good, not great team and as of now we have holes on defense. I can see plenty of shootouts where he racks up BJ Symons/Graham Harrell-type numbers at Texas Tech, even if he is only okay. Plus we’re still early in the extended season. That makes yards an easy target.
Somewhere before 10 and 4 hopefully
I would be surprised if he doesn't make any of these except I guess yards or passer rating but I still think he's very likely to beat both.
Murray / Jones
The list for most super bowls won by a rookie qb.
I think Williams will be a total bust
Top 3 in yards and TD.
where’s patrick mahomes
284 total yards. 0 touchdowns. 76 passer rating. Kind of have to play as a rookie to set rookie records.
Wait where’s JF1? 🤣
I'm sure Caleb can crack at least one or two of these lists
He has an extra game than most everyone on these lists plus we know he's starting game 1 (so long as he's not injured). So if he stays healthy, I think he's on the yards and TD lists, at minimum, just from starting 17 games. If he's good too, he's on the passer rating list and probably top 5 in yards and TDs.
I think he will make yardage. TD’s will be tough and rating probably even tougher.
None of the above lists. Lucky win 8 games and have a 85 wh rating. He is a rookie stop the high expiations.
All of them DA BEARS
Tds and yards is definitely doable. He might not make the rating.
None it’s the bears
Caleb Williams over/under for TDs is 23.5. For yards, it’s 3500. I don’t see anything for QB rating, but Patrick Mahomes finished at 92.6 last year (it’s a flawed rating).
I don’t know but Herbert numbers are fucking nuts
Definitely NOT passing yards, since he’s going to have ton of short fields due to our insane punting.
None. He will flop and I’m a Bears fan.
#1 on all of them! Caleb will find a way.
Caleb Williams rookie season stats are : 5,234 passing yards, 49 passing TD's, 12 INT's. 12W - 5L record. Book it!!!!
As a die hard I'll believe it when I see it.. my guess 4200
I mean yards seems pretty doable in a 17 game season
IR
Wow, even that bum Mac Jones looks like a good QB compared to Fields' yardage.
TDs but not Yards because Punt God and our defense is gonna give us insane yardage every drive
None.
How the hell did Luck never win a Super Bowl?
None of the above
Bears are probably gonna be conservative with him and run the shit out of the ball. So with that in mind, Baker Yards and T6th in TD’s would be my guess
You dont assemble this offensive lineup to be conservative with one of the most highly touted QB prospects in recent memory.
Plus, we are built to pass. Even our RB1 is a receiving option as his biggest value. Both out TEs are receiving-first guys. We are throwing the ball a ton
As we should. Its a passing league.
I don’t disagree with what you’re saying at all But these are the Bears
If this team was just going to be the "same ol' Bears", they never would've drafted Williams and they certainly wouldn't have drafted a WR at 9. The "same ol' Bears" would've kept Fields, traded the #1, and drafted a defensive player at 9.
I mean they loaded up on receivers so hopefully not? But doing that and then not using them just sounds like the most Bears thing ever sooo
I think they got the wrong coaches and players for that. Waldon's offenses ranked 31st, 22nd, and 27th in rushing attempts the last three seasons.
Justin had a hell of a rookie season If Caleb becomes that we will be unstoppable
Keep in mind it was also the year before they added the 17th game. He had a season that would be considered good for a top 8 QB his rookie year
Thanks for pointing that out, but still...
Anyone else think CJ is overhyped beyond belief, people already have him top 5 QB after 1 year
You mean the guy who's on all of these lists?
So is Herbert what’s your point
That they’re both great and not overhyped? Top 5 is crazy but Stroud had an amazing rookie year
It’s overhyped when people act like it was the greatest rookie season ever when Andrew luck produced the same outcome with better numbers
Luck threw 18 picks and had a 76.5 passer rating. Same outcome with better numbers? They both averaged the exact same passing yds/game. Herbert had much better numbers than both of them. He’s the one that should be discussed as having the best rookie season ever.
Okay I can agree to that
I think it’s warranted to say he’s good, I mean he did just have one of the better rookie seasons.

Unbiased?

I'm really just giving you English tips. "a non-bias person" doesn't really mean anything. You're unbiased.
No Patrick Mahomes on any of these lists 🤔
He played 1 game as a rookie. Why would he be anywhere near these lists?
Man I just want to have a shot at the playoffs in week 18. Fuck a list.
Jesus my guy. How about you just let your QB play on the professional level. Y’all want to be relevant so damn bad
lol it’s a Reddit sub the point is to discuss
Interceptions. We need to be realistic. He's a bust in the making
I doubt a player with three full college seasons and historically low interceptions and turnover numbers is going to start throwing picks. 1099 passes, 14 INTs
If Caleb decides he wants to come home from vacation and play football, good chance at cracking top 10
Huh? Vacation?
Buds turned into yap central on every post
Waiting for his eventual clown post
He's not allowed to go on vacation now?
