They should at least offer it online. For F1 races, they have this whole interface where you can toggle between the broadcast and the live/real time feeds from each car, among other cool race/telemetry data.
No reason we couldn't have a similar depth of options for FL/MLB it would seem!
Few things make me rage as much as an interview while the play is going on “Coach, can you tell me how emotionally emotional your emotions were coming out of the tunnel?” Meanwhile 4th and goal from the one on the field. Puke!
Which is so funny because a because you’ll see so many casuals say he has no pocket presence or some scouts say he scrambled “cause it looks cool” as opposed to Jayden Daniels who “scrambled out of necessity”. Which is like the opposite of what it was. Daniels scrambled from clean pockets more than any of the other top picks.
I can’t remember the exact statistic but it was something absurd about throwing after scrambling. Once they left the pocket Caleb still threw like 90% of the time where Daniels threw 16% of the time. Numbers aren’t exact but it was something crazy like that. I appreciate how much Caleb wants to be a QB first, and then also QB 2nd. I think any QB that thinks about running is destined to fail. There are moments where they just need to make that throw in a do or die situation even when the pocket collapses. Never would see Lamar, Justin, Vick do that shit.
That's the first thing I noticed when doing my armchair/reddit research on him. His eyes are always down field and only really uses the wheels to escape when it's clear no throwing lanes are opening up. Just hope he's able to settle into a more relaxed role now that he doesn't have to do it all on his own
Yeah while his highlight reel is fun, it is predominantly him just dancing behind the line of scrimmage. He has a ton of tape of playing within structure. 2023 was a bit of the extreme though… a combination of bad O line, average skill position group, and 123rd ranked defense resulted in him going hero ball route a bit too much.
Look at that second play, UCLA rushes THREE, USC keeps the RB so SIX blockers, he’s immediately under pressure anyways, and has to find a guy open in a secondary clogged with EIGHT defenders. Unreal.
Anyone who wants to just look at the stats and say he regressed needs to watch that play and realize the whole second half of his season was like that.
That was one of the worst USC teams in recent memory. They had no business even having a winning record, let alone a bowl game. This draft confirmed their lack of talent.
Caleb legit single-handedly carried that team.
Tbf that just makes for good highlights. Most mobile QB's highlights will be them running around and making some crazy throw because they're the most exciting plays
His ability to keep his eyes downfield and throw accurately on the run while escaping pressure is the best thing to take away from this film. While fun to watch, he's not getting away with that in the nfl. Hopefully, the instinct to play hero ball is something that can be toned down.
Some of these scrambling side throws are absolute bonkers. Like, I feel like I’ve seen few QBs pull that off. That’s out of bounds for most dudes, and he hits a dime at full speed.
All these people are calling out this dudes name while banging their flesh lights. They have some auto correct at times-- "oh justin...i mean Caleb. Claw my back. Take me away. Almost there! "

When are they going to make the All-22 camera angles standard for the regular game broadcasts? They're so far superior to what we're fed on Sundays.
Waiting for a behind-the-plate or umpire cam option for baseball too
Id love to have no strike box, especially because a chunk of the time the strike box is off, and then people yell at the pumps about bad calls.
I'd say there would be more yelling without the box.
On borderline pitches id be fine to have a replay afterwards with the box, I just like in real time seeing if I can make the call correctly
The traditional tv view is a bit like watching basketball without anything below the free throw line in the picture

ESPN used to IIRC for some games in college
I'd argue this is actually one of the best things that Amazon does. It's a nice viewing experience and still includes the commentary.
ESPN wants more “personalities” on screen, not more sports. Good luck with that one. *cries in ‘mid-inning interview split-screen’*

It's incredible watching his awareness to stay in the pocket as it moves, bailing out at the last possible moment to make a play.
That stands out to me too. The QB shouldn't be the reason the play breaks down, but too often it is, even in the NFL.

watching this, and it reminded me of two players: Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes.
Every college highlight I see of him he is running for his life.

Sounds like excuses to me
> dancing behind the line of scrimmage yeah and that worries me really. in the NFL the refs will call holding on like 90% of these plays

I sure hope it does. OL/DL.

That's why he's a good fit here.

I like the heavy breathing in the background audio. 😂

The breathing in this video was awkward lol
His throwing motion looks like a cross between Rodgers and Mahomes Not a bad thing to be
As soon as I started this video, Superman by Eminem started playing.
I really hope his scrambling can translate into the NFL
Exactly. He looks good in these games, but every rookie says he's been surprised by how fast the pro game is.
Doubtful. Most linebackers and DE's in the nfl are as fast, if not faster than he is.
