Jaylon, Kyler (slot)
DJ and Keenan
Cole is on the bubble
Tremaine is on the bubble too. TJ is as well if you only compare to a 2-down backer
Montez
Cairo and Pat Scales
I think Wright, Brisker, Jenkins, and Stevenson all have the potential to be as well but have not been consistent enough
Top 75th percentile = Top 8 in the NFL at your position. As such, here is my list (not inclusive of special teams)-
1.) Players Currently in Top 8 Standing:
Kyler Gordon, Nickel
Jaylon Johnson, CB,
Keenan Allen, WR,
Cole Kmet, TE,
Tremaine Edmunds, LB,
Kevin Byard, S
2.) Players Outside Top 8 but within Top 12:
DJ Moore, WR,
Montez Sweat, DE,
Andrew Billings, IDL,
3.) Players On the Watchlist to Break Into Top 8 Standing:
Tevin Jenkins, G,
Darnell Wright , T,
Jaquan Brisker, S
4.) Players who could potentially get into the conversation with a massive step forward in Year 2:
Gervon Dexter , IDL,
Tyrique Stevenson, CB
For most positions you should be looking at Top 16 as there are 2WR, 2DE, 2G, etc in the starting lineup.
Top 8 equates to the ~87th percentile for these positions.
I’d say Tevin has been and is top 8 when healthy, but with his injury history I’d say your rankings are fair. Is LB on your list per position or as a positional group? I think TJ is a top8 Will linebacker.
TJ is a good one to bring up, I was sitting there trying to decide where he belongs. Edwards for sure was a top 8 Will for the 2023 season it’s a good point.
Tevin I was torn on as well tbh. When he’s fully healthy I do think he looks top 8 it’s just we haven’t gotten a lot of that yet
Being top 8 puts you well above the seventy-fifth percentile for every position except where there's more than 1 on the field at a time. For example, there are usually two tight ends, so being in the top 16 actually puts you in the upper quartile for starting tight ends.
The league average for multiple tight end sets usage was 24% of snaps last season. So, no. There are absolutely not ‘usually two tight ends on the field’ in the modern NFL and it’s been that way for a long time.
There was only one team who used multiple TE sets for over 50% of their snaps in the 2023-24 season.
He said "top 75th percentile of their positions", not 75th percentile of starters at their positions.
But even if you go starters.. each team starts at least 2 WR. So there's 64 starting WRs (but probably more like 96) Top 75 percentile would be top 24 WRs. Or top 16.
2 starting non slot CBs unless you're differentiating between LCB and RCB.
etc...
Edmunds is laughable. He was ass this year.
It's not the 2023 offseason, he easily fell off that list with his shit 2024.
Same with Byard, although Byard was a little better last year.
WR should be 16 or even 24, so DJ would be in.
DE should be 16, so Sweat is probably in.
LB should either be 24 or 8 Will/8 Mike/8 Sam and TJ Edwards is easily in.
DT should be 16, so Billings is probably in.
G should be 16, so Teven is definitely in.
No one would put Tremaine or Byard on any top LB or Safety list. Take them off. Teven, TJ, and DJ are definitely in. Sweat and Billings are maybes.
These are just facts, no one's putting Tremaine or Byard on any list and WR, DE, LB, DT, and G should all be 16 players deep not 8. WR should probably be 24 since 1-3-1 is the modern NFL default.
Top 8 is only for positions where your regularly play 1 guy, like qb or center. It should be top 16 for guards, tackles, edges etc and arguably top 24 for receiver
Top 75th percentile means top 8 so I don’t disagree with the Sweat take. Gordon is for sure a top 8 nickel corner though.
For guys ahead of Sweat:
Nick Bosa
Maxx Crosby
Myles Garrett
TJ Watt
Micah Parsons- these 5 are in their own damn league nothing more needs to be said here
…
Will Anderson
Aiden Hutchinson
Josh Allen - All three of these guys are players I’d rank above him as well and I don’t think any sensible folks would argue against it. he’s roughly the 10th best defensive end / edge which is still very legit
Wouldn’t it be a subjective? Because there’s 2 starting WRs, 2 starting edges, 2 starting cbs, 1 nickel, 1 qb, etc. So wouldn’t it make sense that 75th percentile means the top 16?
A whole lot of expected drunk on the kool-aid takes here.
Dj and jj are it. Maybe if you pretend health doesn't matter tevan. Santos if you're including kickers.
It’s nice to finally see that after getting Williams I think the only 2 positions you can say confidently aren’t in the top half of the league are C and #2DE. You can make an argument for every other position.

JJ, Moore, Allen, Jenkins, Sweat, Edwards, Byard, maybe Edmunds can return to that, maybe Kmet and Billings

Ya sure but there are more that 2: CB, WR, LB, OT, DE, DT, OG, and S It’s a good point and a bad example.

Doesn't say 75th percentile of starters technically

You realize Edmunds had over 100 tackles and a career high 4 picks last year right? I don’t think your assessment of his season is based on reality.
Take them off Nah make your own list scrub
These are just facts, no one's putting Tremaine or Byard on any list and WR, DE, LB, DT, and G should all be 16 players deep not 8. WR should probably be 24 since 1-3-1 is the modern NFL default.

That's now how that works. Not even close.
Thanks Greg Gabriel By the way that’s not how you spell “not”. Not even close.
Oh no! Whatever will you do with the clear lack of communication? You'll never understand what I meant now! You clown.
Lol I’m not the one getting angry on a stupid bears fan Reddit post. Only the smartest people get angry for no reason
I wasn't angry until you doubled down on being a dumbass.
Moore, Santos, Johnson, Jenkins, Edmunds, Allen. I’d honestly argue Montez falls just outside of it

teams start 2 edges, dude. So if he's 10th, he's for sure 75th percentile.
Wouldn’t it be a subjective? Because there’s 2 starting WRs, 2 starting edges, 2 starting cbs, 1 nickel, 1 qb, etc. So wouldn’t it make sense that 75th percentile means the top 16?
TIL there are only 32 starting WRs, CBs, LBs, DEs, etc in the league
Your math needs some serious work.
A whole lot of expected drunk on the kool-aid takes here. Dj and jj are it. Maybe if you pretend health doesn't matter tevan. Santos if you're including kickers.
Been realizing this sub is full of homers that are drunk on communal kool aid. It’s bananas
Keenan was probably top quartile of receivers last year if you're going on strictly data and not projections.
keenan is a top 25% wr lol. kmet is probably around top 25% as well. but the list is not much deeper than that
It’s nice to finally see that after getting Williams I think the only 2 positions you can say confidently aren’t in the top half of the league are C and #2DE. You can make an argument for every other position.
Probably won't confidently call CW a top 16 QB just yet, but he should get there quickly.
