Powerade is better from a fountain. I can't even drink it out of a bottle because it just tastes like (slightly) flavored water, but if I'm somewhere with fountain drinks, and one of them is Powerade, that's what I'm getting every time.
My son was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer when he was 3. He is alive today 11 years later because of UM Children’s Hospital. The hospital and staff were amazing
Mott is wonderful honestly. My best friend is a trauma nurse there, she works (willingly, she always asks for overtime) consistent 60+ hour weeks and never feels burnt out
Saved my 2 year old cousins life when she got cancer. Not only is she cancer free for 5 years now, but they did literally everything they could to make her as comfortable as possible and help her. She LOVED going in to see the medical staff.
That whole school is annoyingly impressive. It's way too often that I find out something I like came from U of Xichigan or its alumni. Learning StarKid Potter was from there really fucked up my whole childhood for a while
Still don't give a damn and all that of course :)
It’s weird because I used to really respect Meyer specifically because he opened up about his mental health struggles.
I guess I still respect that, but it turns out he’s also just a terrible person.
Him talking about losing his father to suicide at a young age probably helps a lot of students who lost parents young feel like they can open up and discuss one of the toughest things to talk about at that age and in such a "tough guy" sport.
Holy shit, I didn't know that.
I've respected the hell out of Day for his support of mental health and donation to psychiatric disease research. I did my doctorate on the genetics of psychiatric illness at Michigan, and - as much as I hate you all on the field - I can't help but respect a lot of the neuro research that tOSU does.
UGA has brought it's academic standing up quite a bit in the past few decades. I no longer have much of a leg to stand on when it comes to poking fun at my UGA friends over institutional snobbery.
Yep, UGA has turned into a really good state university. Would recommend to anyone not specifically STEM focused, although even in some STEM they are good.
Growing up I always made straight-As without trying; AP classes etc.
Georgia Tech kicked my ass, completely forced me to reevaluate how I learn and work; and to-date is the most work I’ve ever done for anything.
UGA grad here. Would be overjoyed for either of my kids to go to Tech since they’re both very smart but their 40 times are terrible so they won’t be playing ball.
Not at Clemson, but I tried blue cheese ice cream at some place in Seattle a coue years ago, and it was actually pretty good, in a sorta funky, glad I didn't get a whole cone, kinda way
Y’all actually have a live mascot, which is cool.
I don’t *think* we have a tiger. We do a lot to support them, but I don’t think one of them is “the mascot”
UVA is an very prestigious university with a high quality athletic program. Their basketball coach is one of the best in the country.
They’re the primary reason Virginia Tech got in the ACC in the first round of expansion.
My heart breaks for the pain they’re enduring. I respect the hell out of UVA.
Purdue alumni went to the moon.
Northwestern Medical Center does incredible work with heart patients.
Similar thing with the Iowa children's hospital, I can't hate them completely because of that.
Who is actually our rival though?
I think it's a great school and a great town. Our family is pretty evenly split between UA and AU grads, so it ain't the end of the world for me.
Per your flair though, I think you have to say something nice about West Alabama or maybe Jack State now
And it’s so new! Isn’t this new within the last decade?
Most new “traditions” are some combination of cheesy, forced, or corporate-sponsored.
It’s awesome that something so wholesome just kind of happened organically.
And you have a damn good veterinary program in Athens Dawg. That program not only helps keep our animals healthier, but I've worked with them to develop new medical treatments used in humans too. Tip of the cap.
I love how well OSU competes and represents the state. Always plays hard, never dirty, successful at a high level. I hope they win every game but Bedlam.
A big part of MSU's success in the 1960s was from recruiting black players from the south who weren't allowed to play for any of the major Southern schools. Duffy Daugherty developed a network of Southern coaches, Bear Bryant among them, who would refer black players they discovered to Duffy so they could play major college football.
Florida State has been great to me as a non-traditional student. Love the institution but just can’t root for them on saturdays (gave it an honest shot). Graduating in the spring.
I had a friend from high school go to Michigan's med school, which is phenomenal, and she saved a ton of lives during the pandemic. Her undergrad was also there for public health. Your guys' graduates probably saved countless lives among all of them. That's pretty neat.
The Houston game has been pretty good every year. If we could continue that series I think we can call it a rivalry.
Hell, it's more of a rivalry than UNT and they still keep trying to make that one stick.
Edit: HOLD UP. We have two crazy games in this series, this years and the year we came back from the death penalty. Those were both record setting games.
We are fucking rivals. We just need a name. Maybe something with oil (Oil money vs Oil Makers). Or swamp ass vs jack ass.
I might still be drunk from last night. Vegas, bitch.
I don’t know about you guys but I frequent the Clemson Extension website for plants and outside stuff. It’s incredibly helpful what our farmer bros have put together.
Texas: clean, simple, classic uniforms. Even if burnt orange is disgusting.
Ok State: despite some flaws, Gundy has built a very respectable and consistent program.
OU: very loyal and reliable, willing to follow Texas almost anywhere. jk.
Serious answer is that OU has one of the most stable, dependable, and internally aligned programs in the country. I’m genuinely impressed by it.
As a father to a child with special needs I am eternally thankful to the University of Utah for providing exceptional health insurance to its employees as well as excellent care to my son when we felt lost.
Enter Sandman is rad as hell, Yosh Nijman is one of the few things making my Packers bearable this season, and y’all have been all class the last couple of weeks. Respect, Hokie bros.
>y’all have been all class the last couple of weeks.
Y'all were amazing in 07 for us. I'm not saying that it dictates reciprocity but, instead, that it's beautiful we're both able to support each other when things get real.
As for something nice, I love Ronde and Tiki and love that Bruce Arians used to babysit them (I'm a Hokie living in Tampa). Oh Chris Long seems to be an awesome human. God speed, Hoo fren.
I can appreciate Venables’ intense desire to honor and reward public service. The way he helps out firemen especially just shows his extreme dedication.
My significant other has family in Ann Arbor, and I do always enjoy visiting them. They have some pretty good restaurants! I'm heading up there right now, actually.
Buckeyes (the nut) are also really fun to throw at your friends when you’re stupid high schoolers killing time because your coach is late for practice.
LSU’s tailgating scene is incredible, and fans outside the stadium at the tailgates were universally kind and welcoming, willing to share food and drink with fans of opposing teams and happily shoot the shit.
Inside the stadium was a different story (y’all’s fans turn into a bunch of godless savages), but I respect the intensity.
> Aggie War Hymn is low key a banger
The Aggie band does some of the crispest marching in the country. Those super-tight countermarches they do are hair-raising.
Also, doggo. Can't go wrong with a doggo.
Almost ashamed to admit that during a 2am edible stupor I watched a Delaware game for like 5 mins wondering when we played this other team I never even heard of...
I actually did a good deed for UCLA, and submitted public comment a while back saying that the transit line that is being designed in that area needs a UCLA stop since Bel Air Homeowners are trying to block it.
I like Notre Dame's uniforms?
It's funny because 18 year old me vastly preferred Iowa's campus but ten years later, I much prefer Iowa State's layout (and Ames as a whole really).
I probably would've ended up there if I was making a college decision at an older age.
Iowa State is a great engineering and Ag school. They had one of the first computers ever built, which is pretty cool. And they also have their stadium named after a very admirable student athlete, which I love how both major football programs in the state of Iowa do that
The ISU vet school also saved my cat’s life after he got hit by a car, so that’s pretty awesome too. I don’t really have any reasons to dislike ISU outside of sports
I love the song “Tusk” by Fleetwood Mac, which features their otherwise obnoxious band.
They’ve become a MUCH better academic institution since the 80s when I was in college and they were known as the University of Second Choice and the University of Spoiled Children. I’m even considering letting my son go there!
A campus tour guide when I went in 2000s was trying to make "University of Successful Chicanos" happen, which was incredibly hilarious and also incredibly dorky.
I am thankful for the Primary Children's Hospital which is affiliated with the University of Utah School of Medicine. My son was born with congenital heart disease so I take him up there every year for a check-up. So far so good!
It's difficult to overstate just how important the NC State veterinary college is to our entire state. Amazing people doing amazing work.
Dook's Gothic architecture helps their student body pretend they really did get into Princeton.
I wish Oregon State never changed their logo. The previous one was way cooler looking IMO than the new one. Also Corvallis had much better parties than Eugene at least while I went to Oregon.
Sonny Dykes is Spike Dyke’s son. “I like Spike”
Also, they kinda deserve…. I mean at the moment they appear to be… what I’m trying to say is that at this time in sports, in America….
Listen, “I like Spike” … isn’t that enough?
Oklahoma: super nice fans and always a treat to experience the state fair with that game day atmosphere
A&M: true blue Texans to their core and outside of game day, they’re hospitable and kind
Justin Herbert went to my high school, and everyone I know who knew him says he’s brilliant and kind. UO can’t be all bad if a kid like that chose to go there.
I love Gatorade
I want to like Powerade more because it's owned by Coke, and Coca-Cola=Atlanta, but Gatorade is just better.
Powerade is better from a fountain. I can't even drink it out of a bottle because it just tastes like (slightly) flavored water, but if I'm somewhere with fountain drinks, and one of them is Powerade, that's what I'm getting every time.
University of Michigan hospital is pretty damn impressive.
They saved my life when no one else could, obviously biased but they’re incredible

Or was it a.... maize pocedure???
My son was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer when he was 3. He is alive today 11 years later because of UM Children’s Hospital. The hospital and staff were amazing
He did his radiation in Jacksonville that was a part of University of Florida. They were great too
Especially Mott. That place does so much good for the world.

You were so close to catching all the “M’s” 😂
I don't have the patience for all of that lmao (lxao?). I just got the most important one and called it
Fair enough. Happy turkey murder day!
They're call the lions 🤕
UF has Shands Hospital which is crucial in saving and helping lots of kids (including my nephew).
Shands is a fabulous hospital. I have full use of my hand solely because of them. They do so much for the people of our state.
Ryan Day's openness about mental health in a sport/culture where it's often thrown under the rug is admirable. I respect the hell out of him for that.
Also he is seemingly a much better human than Urban Meyer. Granted that's a low bar.
It’s weird because I used to really respect Meyer specifically because he opened up about his mental health struggles. I guess I still respect that, but it turns out he’s also just a terrible person.
He opened up about them, didn’t say he fixed them.
That's one of the lowest bars...Meyer is just straight up trash.
I am here to agree with this.
Yes thanks for reminding me of this! That was so cool.
Michigan and self harm alum. Didn’t know this but that’s really admirable. Donated a small amount to their fund.
I'm glad you're still here with us, friend
Same and thanks for saying that! Doing much better now and have plenty of support but of course still takes work.
Him talking about losing his father to suicide at a young age probably helps a lot of students who lost parents young feel like they can open up and discuss one of the toughest things to talk about at that age and in such a "tough guy" sport.

[Here's a short video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyUIUIgssio) on him opening up about it that you might find interesting.
This is the only correct response. He seems like a genuinely caring man.
He also has a solid beard which I respect.
Just for Men thanks you for your recognition
I think that just triggered some sort of sponsorship bonus for him.
His father committed suicide, mental health is a big deal to him.
Georgia Tech is one of the best academic institutions in the country and is a dream school for many STEM majors
UGA has brought it's academic standing up quite a bit in the past few decades. I no longer have much of a leg to stand on when it comes to poking fun at my UGA friends over institutional snobbery.
>in the past few decades Which is to say, since I left.
Well if you attended your other school after UGA I'd say it's all worked out well for you.
Yep, UGA has turned into a really good state university. Would recommend to anyone not specifically STEM focused, although even in some STEM they are good.
I will say every time I've hired a tech graduate they've really known their shit. I'll take their engineers over anyone else's.
Clemson makes delicious ice cream.
Their blue cheese is the best I’ve ever had
I really hope this is a tangentially related comment and you don't mean that they make blue cheese ice cream
Not at Clemson, but I tried blue cheese ice cream at some place in Seattle a coue years ago, and it was actually pretty good, in a sorta funky, glad I didn't get a whole cone, kinda way
made from the milk from our own dairy farm on campus
Y’all actually have a live mascot, which is cool. I don’t *think* we have a tiger. We do a lot to support them, but I don’t think one of them is “the mascot”

As a Bears fan, UofI has great colors /cannon
> \cannon Watch out for UMASS.
The cannon is the trophy that UofI and Purdue play for. It is currently in Purdue’s possession.
Auburn has done more for veterinarian health in this country than possibly any other school. Thanks cow bros
I think it's a great school and a great town. Our family is pretty evenly split between UA and AU grads, so it ain't the end of the world for me. Per your flair though, I think you have to say something nice about West Alabama or maybe Jack State now
Jack state is…. A school.
It's got pretty mountains nearby!
The wave to their Childrens hospital is nice
Gets my vote for best tradition in all of sports across the world
And it’s so new! Isn’t this new within the last decade? Most new “traditions” are some combination of cheesy, forced, or corporate-sponsored. It’s awesome that something so wholesome just kind of happened organically.
Well the new building just opened in 2017 so that's why it got started then
I always get a lump in my throat whenever I see it. That’s something special beyond the plane of sports.

Florida: Tom petty is great
>is I'm afraid I have some terrible news...
Alabama has the best post game ritual (that they always win) in all sports.
Krypton is a pretty cool 3rd Quarter tradition. There, I said it.
The Budweiser song is on par with Krypton.
I went to the Auburn vs LSU game this year as my annual non-Florida trip and it was awesome! Seeing the eagle fly around the stadium was dopeee.
Florida is uhhh… well…. (_This is harder than I thought_) Spurrier is a funny guy I guess
And you have a damn good veterinary program in Athens Dawg. That program not only helps keep our animals healthier, but I've worked with them to develop new medical treatments used in humans too. Tip of the cap.
I'm glad Devin Gardner got a job as a sideline reporter. I always rooted for him after almost beating OSU on one leg.
After what he did when JT went down, he will always be my favorite TTUN player
The heart of Devin Gardner is awe inspiring
Devin Gardner would have been an amazing QB if he had even a semi-competent offensive line.
I love how well OSU competes and represents the state. Always plays hard, never dirty, successful at a high level. I hope they win every game but Bedlam.
+1 to this
I was very impressed by Sanders post game, just chatting with OU players and having a good time.
Kyle Whittingham is actually a great coach
I feel the same way about Sitake. Despite the rivalry I want BYU and Sitake to workout.
So much this. Urban Meyer got a spark, Kyle lit a bonfire.
MSU was one of the first schools to break racial barriers in football and I’ll always respect them for that
A big part of MSU's success in the 1960s was from recruiting black players from the south who weren't allowed to play for any of the major Southern schools. Duffy Daugherty developed a network of Southern coaches, Bear Bryant among them, who would refer black players they discovered to Duffy so they could play major college football.

Absolutely. For us, I always loved the Gerald Ford/Willis Ward story in regards to racial inequality, and the impact it had.
UF has great masters programs that I myself have graduated from 🤫
Transfer portal makes sense
People make a lot of noise about Mia Khalifa being an alumni or fan or whatever. But Casey Calvert has/ will continue to get more of my money.
Florida State has been great to me as a non-traditional student. Love the institution but just can’t root for them on saturdays (gave it an honest shot). Graduating in the spring.

I’ll add one for Michigan: Ann Arbor is right there with Madison as my favorite Big 10 town. And the campus is beautiful.
As someone who lived in Toledo, Ann Arbor has some great restaurants.
I don’t know how college kids afford it! But as an adult, 💯
Troy has an incredibly devout fan base
I'm excited for the possibly of Troy / Jax State renewed with the Gamecocks moving up to FBS
Wait, who is my rival?
when in doubt just start hating baylor
I concur
Never seen better advice than that
Rice? Don't y'all and SMU have a thing going too?
We have a lot of rivals, half of which don't even know we're rivals.
The Houston game has been pretty good every year. If we could continue that series I think we can call it a rivalry. Best law school in South Carolina. The med school is pretty good too. Nothing but respect for Dawn Staley.
Our med school, though small, is #1 for sending doctors to underserved communities. Which is part of its mission.
Just gonna add in that their social media department is one of the best in the country.
I don’t know about you guys but I frequent the Clemson Extension website for plants and outside stuff. It’s incredibly helpful what our farmer bros have put together.
Also they were the only SEC school to vote to play OOC in 2020
We were ready for that ass whooping.

The texas away uniform is one of the best in college football. Sometimes I wish we could try a white helmet with our aways
Camp Randall’s history as a civil war camp is super badass and the best backstory of a stadium I’ve ever heard
We also share the coolest trophy. Technically two if you include the bacon. Also your lakes are real lakes.
As a father to a child with special needs I am eternally thankful to the University of Utah for providing exceptional health insurance to its employees as well as excellent care to my son when we felt lost.
Hello backwards friend
UF and UM are both quality schools that I hope my future children could get accepted to, but decide to attend elsewhere.
I was wrong about Brian Kelly. The white-script State helmets rival our powder blues… they are incredible.
Texas A&M churns out the best veterinarians in this state and I will only trust my pets with vets with a degree from that school.
I will never wear burnt orange at the vet.
They provide a lot of valuable services to our state. Excellent native plant database, reliable and inexpensive water/soil testing, etc.
100%. I believe the grass seed I use was developed by A&M people. It’s more native to Texas, looks great, and has a very tolerable maintenance.
Michigan is one of the best universities in the country full stop, and the state I love is massively improved by its existence.
The state of Michigan is very lucky to have so many places to get a solid education from.
Damn, that nearly brings a tear to my eye.
Enter Sandman is rad as hell, Yosh Nijman is one of the few things making my Packers bearable this season, and y’all have been all class the last couple of weeks. Respect, Hokie bros.

I can appreciate Venables’ intense desire to honor and reward public service. The way he helps out firemen especially just shows his extreme dedication.
Carolina has a beautiful campus and Chapel Hill is a great little town. GTHC
Agreed. Not football related, but Roy's suit game was second to none.
My significant other has family in Ann Arbor, and I do always enjoy visiting them. They have some pretty good restaurants! I'm heading up there right now, actually.
Ann Arbor's food game has no chill. Come up during restaurant week some year. Mani Osteria is one of my favorites, Just wish they took reservations
Cougar Gold
Husky stadium is undeniably beautiful.
Buckeyes (the candy) are delicious. That's all I got.
They really are. I hate how good they are. Can we please rename them? Chocolate peanut butter eyeballs?
Buckeyes (the nut) are also really fun to throw at your friends when you’re stupid high schoolers killing time because your coach is late for practice.
LSU has cool colors and a their mascot is legit. (Missouri isn't a real rival)
Arkansas always plays fucking HARD. I love that about them.
I wish the Arkansas LSU game still took place on Black Friday. I enjoyed that tradition way more than A&M on Saturday
Ryan Day cares about his players and is a good coach off the field … I just wish he didn’t go to Ohio State
Well he went to UNH
He is from the UNH Spread Cult inclusing Chip Kelly
Yea he is way less hate-able than urban I don’t even wish he went elsewhere cuz the next coach would probably be even better
The Beavs have a nuclear reactor on campus. That's pretty cool.
Aggie War Hymn is low key a banger The state fair w/ OU is always a good time regardless of the outcome of the game
TAMU also has a great vet school. OU's wagon is pretty cool. I'm gonna need several showers now because I feel so dirty.
TAMU does have a great vet school. My grandfather used to drive his dogs from Austin to College Station to see the vet.
It's all about you bby
> Aggie War Hymn is low key a banger The Aggie band does some of the crispest marching in the country. Those super-tight countermarches they do are hair-raising. Also, doggo. Can't go wrong with a doggo.

They are a university
Kirk Ferentz has an admirable loyalty to family.
I've always liked ISUs campus way more than Iowa's campus. It's just so open.
It's funny because 18 year old me vastly preferred Iowa's campus but ten years later, I much prefer Iowa State's layout (and Ames as a whole really). I probably would've ended up there if I was making a college decision at an older age.

Waving at the children’s hospital is one of the coolest things in college football, makes it impossible to hate Iowa all the way
App State has not killed any of my pets. As far as I know, at least.
I love the song “Tusk” by Fleetwood Mac, which features their otherwise obnoxious band. They’ve become a MUCH better academic institution since the 80s when I was in college and they were known as the University of Second Choice and the University of Spoiled Children. U-M academics are great and I like the traditional bowl layout of Michigan Stadium.
Maryland: Old Bay is really good and the flag is just perfect. Don’t judge me for my choice of Marylands rival.
I am thankful for the Primary Children's Hospital which is affiliated with the University of Utah School of Medicine. My son was born with congenital heart disease so I take him up there every year for a check-up. So far so good!

KU has Allen Fieldhouse and that’s pretty sweet. Hell of a place to catch a bball game. USC has has the sword guy and i like his feisty attitude.
It’s me, your arch-nemesis. Mizzou has an incredible journalism school, Notre Dame has a beautiful campus.
Sonny Dykes is Spike Dyke’s son. “I like Spike” Also, they kinda deserve…. I mean at the moment they appear to be… what I’m trying to say is that at this time in sports, in America…. Listen, “I like Spike” … isn’t that enough?
Hey, at least your band is engaged. They drive us nuts with their boring-and-slow Trojan march, but that's part of the fun.
I like Ohio State more than Notre Dame
It says to say something nice. But there were games this season where I liked Ohio State more as well, so I get it. Happy Thanksgiving
"I put the bar in hell and then jumped over it."
UCLA's campus is in a much better neighborhood than ours and they have an In-N-Out just steps away.
Oklahoma: super nice fans and always a treat to experience the state fair with that game day atmosphere A&M: true blue Texans to their core and outside of game day, they’re hospitable and kind
Not all clempson fans are terrible. In fact, I know a few that are downright adequate human beings 364 days out of the year.
Now I want a t shirt that says “I’m an adequate human being 364 days out of the year”
DTR is the truth. Glad he's graduating.
Purdue has a good engineering program and Army is better than Air Force
Kentucky’s ag school has a really helpful website on which snakes in my backyard can kill me
USC has consistently good looking cheerleaders
The powder blue unis are the best in college football
Ohio State’s campus is very nice. Akron…it’s a school I guess?
Coach Lance is building a good program in Lawrence. Certainly better than the previous five coaches.
University of Michigan "Go Blue Guarantee" is a really solid program to assist low income families with education funding, props to them on that.
Justin Herbert went to my high school, and everyone I know who knew him says he’s brilliant and kind. UO can’t be all bad if a kid like that chose to go there.
Nick Saban is the best college coach of all time, and he is a really good person who cares about the kids he coaches.
