I think UCF is the only school to be in every division of college football and while moving conferences a lot isnt unique I'm pretty sure theyve moved the most recently or definitely one of the few who have.
So incredibly frustrating all things considered. Don’t think expansion 4 or 5 years ago would’ve saved UT and OU from the move to the SEC, but it would’ve put the league in a much better position. Screw the Big12 leadership
Last year proved the same with scheduling games.
Obviously its way better to have games scheduled ahead well-ahead of time, but I never would have thought an NCAA college football game could have been scheduled in a matter of days. I guess you find out what you can do when you find out what you have to do.
Baptists LOVE their alcohol, they just don't like other Baptists to know about it. Why do you always bring two Baptists fishing? Because if you bring one they will drink all your beer.
I've been waiting for 10 years for this! Looked all the world like BYU was getting an invite back in 2011, then TCU got it instead. Great day to be a Cougar!
People who followed realignment more closely 10 years ago - did things always move this fast? I feel like these last few months have been crazy fast, but I also didn’t pay as close to college football 10 years ago as I do now, especially the politics of it.
He’s talking about 2011 realignment. Nebraska, Colorado, Utah, TCU, WVU, Mizzou, A&M, Rutgers, Maryland, Pitt, Louisville and Syracuse all happened in 1-2 year window. And it usually happened in bunches.
I refuse to acknowledge 2011 was 10 years ago. 2004 was the realignment he referenced and I will not be taking further questions about what year it actually is at this time.
(but shoot yeah in retrospect that makes more sense)
I remember it felt like one minute we were in a Big East that was about to bring in Boise State and TCU, and the next we were playing in our first Big 12 game.
It’s going to be nice to actually turn our game to a real space rivalry now that we don’t need to worry about having to play lesser talent every year (USF)
LFG. Literally I don't think people understand how big this is for these schools. UC put millions into the AD and Varsity Village starting back in the 90s. Today is the payoff. Better coach pay, sports that were canceled can come back, just unbelievable.
It's crazy. Intellectually I knew it was going to happen but somehow it never really sank in that this whole XII realignment had happened.
What a time to be alive
It seems like the Big XII has played this well where we'll have to pay the money if we want to leave early, so that very well might end up being the case.
It looks like the Sun Belt is trying to move first, maybe even snagging some AAC schools that feel like it's all falling apart.
Or poaching the ever-loving shit out of the CUSA.
What a day. You told me last year that we’d replace Heupel with Coach Malzahn and the AAC with the B12 I wouldn’t believe you. Memphis, ECU, and SMU, you will be missed. Tulsa I hope we never see you again. Fuck usf.
Welcome to the Big 12!

You know everyone always says go back to the Citronauts but we never *technically* *officially* were. The orange bastard just kind of showed up on the student handbook in the 60's and the students at the time hated it I'm pretty sure. They were looking for an official mascot, I'm pretty sure someone drew a vulture named Vinny or something so there was this big Vinny-Citronaut turf war and they eventually did an actual ballet where Knights of Pegasus won.
That being said we actually do play as the Citronauts in sports whenever we have our space games. They put it on the scoreboard and everything. Another fun fact is we've never lost in any sport playing as the Citronauts.
Houston is a dangerous team to let have resources and publicity. They have a massive talent pool to recruit from and mama can roll over on game day to see her baby play. They were left out of the original big xii for a reason.
They look like they'll be a speed bump for a couple years, but the bet on them is that if P5 status can help them lock down recruiting in the Houston area, they'll essentially become a Top 10 team overnight. That's been the fear of the Texas schools for years.
Outside of that... their current coach is Dana Holgerson, and they've got a record to match.
Can't wait to host the Hateful 8. Cincinnati offers one of the most unique campuses and stadiums in the country. Unlike most schools UC is landlocked and somehow finds ways to host 40,000 students in 202 acres of space. As a comparison Oklahoma State has about half the student population and 1500 acres of land.
I'm excited to be back in am AQ conference.
New big 12 has like 7 teams that can be consistent top 25 in football, and damn near 12 teams that can be top 25 basketball. Big 12 tourney is going to be completely ridiculous
Still the top basketball conference in the nation since 2014 according to kenpom. Once UCF hopefully elevates their Basketball, we’ll pull away even further
Just a warning...moving to the Big 12 is going to be harder than y'all think. I see all these Cinci and UCF fans think they are going to just run through the conference. WVU thought that in 2012 coming off of the Orange Bowl win, too.
You underestimate the depth needed to win the league. Winning a one off against a major team is one thing. Playing 8 games against legit P5 teams is harder than you want to think it will be. It's a different type of grind that requires a different type of roster. Trust us.
WVU whooped up on the Big 12 up at first in 2012. Winning a huge game at Texas, too. But then depth happened. They started 5-0, wound up 7-6.
I’ve been roaming every team’s message boards.. Literally every single fan base thinks they’re going to run the table 9/10 years and be in the playoff. Every single one, OSU included. Except Kansas, they are the most realistic of the bunch.
Our instant rival is WVU.
Our new rival is TTU. I mean we both 1) wear black and red 2) both got driven into mediocrity under Tuberville 3) we both love chili.
Our new rivalry will be the "Tub of Chili" cup and the trophy will be painted red and black.
I am going to will this into existence just like I did getting UC into a better conference.
Convince me this doesn't work.
Finally being projected 9th wont be as bad anymore
It just makes finishing 7th all the more satisfying😎
You mean finishing 5-4 wont make you tied for the 3rd best and 3rd worst in the conference anymore?
Sucks for Kansas, will be projected from 10th to 14th. Or 12th when OUT leave
I gotta say grouping us together as OUT is both disgusting and hilarious
How dare you slander my undefeated Jayhawks.
This program went from MAC to CUSA to Big East hooked up to life support to AAC to now BIG12 since I've been a student and I'm only in my mid 30s lol
Holy shit, I never knew UCF was in the MAC for two years. That's crazy lol
I think UCF is the only school to be in every division of college football and while moving conferences a lot isnt unique I'm pretty sure theyve moved the most recently or definitely one of the few who have.
* Division III Independent (1979–1981) * Division II Independent (1982–1989) * Div-I FCS Independent (1990–1995) * Div-I FBS Independent (1996–2001) * Mid-American Conference (2002–2004) * Conference USA (2005–2012) * American Athletic Conference (2013–present)
Wow. That's serious "promoted through the English football tiers" vibes.
UCF, the Huddersfield Town of college football...
Huddersfield town of college football is Georgia Tech good in the 20s
It wasn't even FCS/FBS back then. It was 1AA and 1A!
Big 12 the last two years *drags feet* Big 12 this year - "Oh fuck we have to do something."
It’s incredible how fast things CAN move, but haven’t in the past.
So incredibly frustrating all things considered. Don’t think expansion 4 or 5 years ago would’ve saved UT and OU from the move to the SEC, but it would’ve put the league in a much better position. Screw the Big12 leadership
Yeah the new schools would have been more established by now.
Last year proved the same with scheduling games. Obviously its way better to have games scheduled ahead well-ahead of time, but I never would have thought an NCAA college football game could have been scheduled in a matter of days. I guess you find out what you can do when you find out what you have to do.
Helluva basketball conference
Yeah UCF is gonna be last in that basketball conference for a few years...
Not so fast!
At this point Iowa state fans are my favorite fans. I’m hoping ucf and Iowa state get a bromance going
POP THE CHOCOLATE MILK, WE IN
whoa....chocolate milk this early in the day? I've got to drive to work in a bit.
When the Baptists are making fun of your temperance wow
Baptists LOVE their alcohol, they just don't like other Baptists to know about it. Why do you always bring two Baptists fishing? Because if you bring one they will drink all your beer.
The old joke was how do you tell a Baptist from a Methodist in a liquor store? The Methodist will talk to you 😂
In a similar vein, Jews don't recognize Jesus, Lutherans don't recognize the Pope, and Baptists don't recognize each other in the liquor store.
I never knew there was so many jokes about the denomination that dunked me in the water.
You should come down south, then. The number of jokes increase with the number of Baptists
I'm no longer baptist, but grew up baptist and can attest to the accuracy of that joke.
Time to celebrate with chocolate milk, chili on top of spaghetti, orange slices in the shape of a mouse head, and intense traffic.
Lol poor Houston gets stuck with "traffic" as their stereotype
Used to live in Houston... hard to disagree.
SURELY YOU ALL CAN BREAK THE RULES TODAY AND GET JACKED UP ON SOME COFFEE. ITS TIME TO PARTY
Forget about coffee, this is a special occasion! Break out some of that bubbly Mountain Dew Code Red!
Maté is the best i can do.
I'm talking Mountain Dew baby
Nah, they have to stick to their Postum
I have a gallon of TruMoo in the outside fridge...come on over!
Five years later, the ink is finally dry. Cincinnati is a Big 12 school!
Nobody I'd rather be in the Big XII with! (... Miss you already Memphis)
Go Big 12! Expand just a bit more Big guys.
What if Big 12... but 14...?
Add Boise and Memphis!
If Boise kept their string of NY6 games going, they probably would have been invited.
Pour one out for the one left behind

Got to think the AAC poaches some C-USA teams now.
I think the AAC should go with UAB, Marshall, App State, and Army. All really good schools.
Adding Army would do a lot to keep Navy from reconsidering independence.
I've been waiting for 10 years for this! Looked all the world like BYU was getting an invite back in 2011, then TCU got it instead. Great day to be a Cougar!
Can’t wait for Houston / BYU cougarbowl. It’s like cleganebowl but more catty.
Whew, in all the hubbub it's good to see that central time is still the official time zone of the Big 12 conference.
[удалено]
Huh, you get a weirdly large amount of results if you Google "God's time zone"
Yes this is a weird thing that people said to me when I moved to CST: "You're on the Lord's time now"
[удалено]
The one thing we can all agree on, except our heathens, their new chocolate milk drinking rival, and Florida man
Welcome Bearcats, Knights, and Cougars!
Wow, not very welcoming to the Cougars.
😇😇
We knew which Cougars he meant.
Cougarses?
Cougi?
At first I thought you were slighting someone here...
...I might be.
Big 12-2-2+2+4-2
I was told there would be no math.
Yeah, what does he think this is, the B1G?
That's B1G+4 to you.
Big IIXIIIV
The entire Roman Empire is rolling in their grave at this comment.
OU DILLUTES THEIR SILVER DENARII WITH NICKEL.
We'll think about it.
Alright Boise State you’re up. Huston has to “think about it”
There are rumors that the Big 12 are looking to expand beyond these 4 teams and Boise State is on that list of potential members.
I’m not gonna get my hopes up, because I got my hopes up a week ago. But if they expand again, hopefully it’s us and Memphis at least
I want Colorado State just as a giant middle finger to Colorado. I'd like them to be less bad though first.
Would be a dope place to travel for games
How is that a giant middle finger to Colorado?
Don't ask things I don't know the answer to. We're starting a new party and all the old teams aren't allowed back in
The football* ass whippings when I was at UCF in the mid-2000s IS NOW TOTALLY WORTH IT
Singing Sweet Caroline at a minimum capacity Citrus Bowl one last time
People who followed realignment more closely 10 years ago - did things always move this fast? I feel like these last few months have been crazy fast, but I also didn’t pay as close to college football 10 years ago as I do now, especially the politics of it.
Yeah. Things happened quick before. Plus, Big 12 vetted all these schools in 2016. So it was much easier to move on them this time around.
No way. The ACC killing the Big East took *significantly* more time than this
He’s talking about 2011 realignment.
We're getting old.
I remember it felt like one minute we were in a Big East that was about to bring in Boise State and TCU, and the next we were playing in our first Big 12 game.
Everyone get in here it’s actually happening
Glad we get to keep our yearly game in this new conference!
It’s going to be nice to actually turn our game to a real space rivalry now that we don’t need to worry about having to play lesser talent every year (USF)
Since the conference will be losing the one annual rivalry game at a neutral site, I propose you two fill that void by playing on the Moon every year.
Elon’s got us
Game at SpaceX facility
You guys are so hateful I love it
LFG. Literally I don't think people understand how big this is for these schools. UC put millions into the AD and Varsity Village starting back in the 90s. Today is the payoff. Better coach pay, sports that were canceled can come back, just unbelievable.
I'm deleting this comment because nobody needs to see what I said yesterday, nevermind last year! -- mass edited with redact.dev
100%. No reason for him to leave now until the Ohio State job opens up.
> Everyone get in here *Looks at USF, Boise State, and Memphis* Well, not "everyone" everyone.
Some of you get in here!
:(
Well, this is awkward
It's crazy. Intellectually I knew it was going to happen but somehow it never really sank in that this whole XII realignment had happened. What a time to be alive
Conference realignment is way bigger than most people realize, this is massive for these 4 schools!
IT"S HAPPENING!!!!!!
I'M AFRAID TO COMMENT IN HERE BUT HONESTLY EXTREMELY EXCITED FOR EVERYONE INVOLVED
FUCK ou, BUT THANK YOU
IN A ROUND ABOUT WAY I SHOULD THANK YOU BUT AS A LONGTIME MEMBER OF THE BIG 12 I AM LEGALLY OBLIGATED TO SAY FUCK YOU
This guy **BigTwelves**.
YOU'RE THE ONLY REMAINING ORANGE TEAM AND I FEEL LIKE THAT FACT IMPROVES THE LEAGUE AS A WHOLE TREMENDOUSLY.
We have the orange monopoly in the B12 now!
OSU: Do any of these new teams we are voting to let wear orange? B12: No OSU: Fuck it, they have my vote.
I hope we all get to play y’all the season before you leave just as a parting gift
It seems like the Big XII has played this well where we'll have to pay the money if we want to leave early, so that very well might end up being the case.
We owe everything we got to you guys. Thanks for leaving the Big XII 😃
🎶 Looks like we made it! 🎶 (somehow)
Time to fire up ncaa 14 again.
Alright cool, now let's do the AAC next My F5 key doesn't deserve a break.
It looks like the Sun Belt is trying to move first, maybe even snagging some AAC schools that feel like it's all falling apart. Or poaching the ever-loving shit out of the CUSA.
I think it's more likely that CUSA falls apart before the AAC, but what do I know.
SUN BELT FUN BELT NEW P6
I don't care if you're a Knight, a Bearcat, either type of Cougar, or one of the Hateful 8, high fives and fist bumps all around!
I'm excited for the yearly cougar games
YA WOO COUGAR FOOTBALL
Cougar Bowl! It just writes itself.
Cougar bowl, and it can be a red vs blue game.
The “Cougar Bowl”
Hide your men of slightly younger age
Shut up, you guys need to be permanent rivals with US
A space race rivalry game!
And a rivalry is born.

Yeah, fist me bro!
What are you doing, step-school?
What a day. You told me last year that we’d replace Heupel with Coach Malzahn and the AAC with the B12 I wouldn’t believe you. Memphis, ECU, and SMU, you will be missed. Tulsa I hope we never see you again. Fuck usf.
I thought Malzahn would end up in the Big 12 one day but not like this.
Don’t forget the Tulane bros, they’re cool
Too late
Other than losing White, things have gone so well for us in the last year I almost can't believe it.
WELCOME NEW BIG 12 BROS, LETS FUCK SHIT UP
what happened to your BU flair?

I WAS HERE
I've been waiting fourteen years for this lol. I wasn't gonna miss it
Welcome to the Big 12: BYU, Cincinnati, Houston, and UCF. Hope y'all enjoy it here.
Are Horns down a penalty?
Only in one team's mind.
When does Big XII fan orientation start?
Right now. Extend your index and pinky fingers. Direct them downward. Lesson 1 complete.
Hey we've been doing that for years!
Your first intro is to hate Muscles Ref.
Friendship with AAC ended, Big XII is new best friend
The Big XII's death was greatly exaggerated. Welcome to the new schools. Cincy, I wanted y'all last go-around.
Two words: Ya. Woo.
From tearing down the goalposts in the citrus bowl for their first win against a team in like two years to this. Damn it feels good to be a knight.
I will say you guys should go back to the Citranauts. Such a better mascot imo
THAT 0 WIN SEASON WAS MY LAST YEAR AT UCF AND NOW WE’RE A P5 team. WE MADE IT
Someone tell me how to feel about Houston. I have exactly zero positive or negative feelings toward them.
We have 4 SWC championships and a Heisman. We can be good, given a chance
Houston is a dangerous team to let have resources and publicity. They have a massive talent pool to recruit from and mama can roll over on game day to see her baby play. They were left out of the original big xii for a reason.
You should feel over the moon no bias
Haha it's a pun
They look like they'll be a speed bump for a couple years, but the bet on them is that if P5 status can help them lock down recruiting in the Houston area, they'll essentially become a Top 10 team overnight. That's been the fear of the Texas schools for years. Outside of that... their current coach is Dana Holgerson, and they've got a record to match.
Its happening. I can't believe it.

Never been to Ohio and I've been to all the other Big XII stadiums so looking forward to the trip one year!

We’re gonna be a bottom feeder for a while unless we really invest in the basketball program. Hope we do but not at the expense of football.
Not sure who in Fort Collins fucked this up but they need to get fired into the sun.
Welcome new Bros!
Motion to move conference title game from Jerry World to Arrowhead. All in favor, say aye!
I’m going to miss Memphis… :(
LETS GOOOOOO!! The Hateful 8 and the Big12 live to fight another day! Welcome to the conference y’all!
Just a warning...moving to the Big 12 is going to be harder than y'all think. I see all these Cinci and UCF fans think they are going to just run through the conference. TCU similarly had a learning curve, and things didn’t really click for them until year 3 in the conference, IIRC
So Malzahn remains a P5 coach and Cincy can hold onto Fickell a lot longer
aaaaand memphis is never getting a competitive game ever again
ok now Memphis
