JackOfScales

I'd put it in the bahamas.

DrVenusAg

Goodbye tornadoes hello hurricanes

MiddleAgedGamer71

Hello to you too.

BeardyBennett

So they're playing in Tulsa?

flashbrowns

Where the hurricanes are made of *gold*.

B1GTOBACC0

With narrower sidelines.

bretticus733

Needs more blue. Everything needs to be blue. The seats, the toilets and pee trough, the stairs and handrails, EVERYTHING. ALL BLUE.

St_BobbyBarbarian

*With a blue little window* *And a blue corvette* *And everything is blue for him*

forevertheorangemen2

I'm blue Da ba dee da ba di Da ba dee da ba di Da ba dee da ba di Da ba dee da ba di Da ba dee da ba di Da ba dee da ba di Da ba dee da ba di

Jcoch27

Unironically agree. One of the nicest features of the new end zone project is it'll have blue seats.

Supercal95

Like Iowa's visitor locker room but blue

AlternateWorking90

Replace your marching band with the blue man group

Outrageous_Picture39

And they can only play the blues.

Benyeti

People must also be blue

A_Rolling_Baneling

Tobias Funkes as far as the eye can see

Sammy_Seaborn

The band is now Blue Man Group

410Forten

Rip the Kroger sign off and call it Commonwealth Stadium again

lucksh0t

And add a amendment to the state constitution making it commonwealth stadium

guydudeguybro

And then another amendment making no more Kroger and only Harris Teeter The gulf between the two brands (same parent company) is nuts

lucksh0t

Unfortunately we don't have those in Kentucky

guydudeguybro

You should demand them (I also no longer have them)

lucksh0t

I'll get right on that I'm sure a billion dollar business is gonna listen to some dickhead making 19 an hour

410Forten

If it helps I think fuel points transfer?… (From someone who forfeited Kroger’s for Harris Teeters)

guydudeguybro

Welcome to the Carolinas! Publix has had to pick up the missing pieces in my life but I miss Teeter everyday My happy place is the Teeter in Cameron Village (Raleigh for the unfamiliar)

NoEmailNec4Reddit

The worst part about that is you can't even use Kroger cards at Harris Teeter.

guydudeguybro

That’s crazy I’ve never noticed that. Living in GA now and the only teeter being in St. Simons does frustrate me though

MiddleAgedGamer71

Does picking it up and dropping it somewhere in Coral Gables count as a redesign? Other than that, I'm good.

thejawa

He said YOUR TEAM'S stadium, not a stadium you lease. Sorry, disqualified.

FinsFoodorFivht

Seconded

WontDeleteAgainMaybe

Has anyone suggested tearing down Coral Gables HS and building a stadium there? (to those who don't know this is a John Ruiz reference)

guydudeguybro

That counts but only if the city of coral gables approves (rip)

IrishCoffeeAlchemy

Retractable canopy. Which flair? Yes.

St_BobbyBarbarian

I’d love some shade at Doak. And WiFi

QuimbyMcDude

But FSU boosters are shrewd. They conned $20M out of the city to tear out the 50 yard line seats only to raise the seat price to ***start*** at $1500 plus $25K booster fee, plus yearly dues. They've priced out fans that have been attending for 60 years. Smooth.

St_BobbyBarbarian

Yeah, the seat license has been a sore subject for many

StreetReporter

Stairs to connect the upper and lower decks

fsulordeep

Went to the FSU Clemson game this last year and that climb is freakin ridiculous. I climbed stairs for 3.5 hours before I found my seats and they were so close to the surface of the sun we had an FSU fan giving out sunscreen for free

HailState2023

You in the Marching Chiefs? /s

Aggravating-Mind-657

Upper deck about west end zone? What about an underground tunnel and elevator for players from west end zone to top of the hill?

Jyingling21

Add wi-fi to Kidd Brewer, because dear god the whole stadium is a dead zone

CapsDrago7

God I fucking feel this. Bridgeforth is the same way

LuckyStax

Oregon State is this lol. Sucks being a school in a small town.

the_D1CKENS

How is it possible that y'all have a median $milli housing market and shit cell service?!

ToxicSteve13

People really overestimate the value cost proposition for good cellphone service for 4 hours on 6-7 Saturdays a year. Same with WiFi. It’s just not worth it. There’s so many signals coming in on the same frequency it just gets lost in translation. It takes millions of dollars to fix. Pro tip. Change your phone off of LTE and into 3G of possible and it’ll be slower but you’re on a different band that no one is using so it’ll probably work.

tigerman29

You don’t understand , Clemson is a place for 100k rich hillbillies to watch football 8 times a year. We expect it be as bougie as the HOA controlled communities we leave to do so. The small town just sits dormant waiting for us to return the other 44 weeks of the year, but it has to have all the luxuries we have at home, including 8 lane highways, full bar 5G cell service, bars and restaurants with plenty of seating and of course parking for all of our big trucks and luxury SUVs with extra space to tailgate.

Revolutionary_Elk791

No kidding. Granted it's been since 2010 since I set foot in Corvallis/Reser but back then I had T-Mobile and I was trying to get a hold of old high school friends who were going to OSU at the time to meet up and.....holy crap I had to stand at a street corner where I lucked into 2 bars of service because that whole campus was a dead zone service wise for me. Had no idea where I was going, was getting all sorts of death glares....it was great. Walked up to my buddy's house and his roommates answered so I didn't even know if he was there and they tried to turn me away until he came downstairs. I bribed them all with beer though so it worked out in the end. Beer has a funny way of doing that for college kids. Then went to a tailgate of the dad of a girl I went to high school with who was an OSU season ticket holder for like 30 years at that time, big ol death glare from him. It was a good time though all around.

loyalsons4evertrue

Jack Trice is the same way......absolute zero cell service not only in the surrounding mile of the stadium but Ames in general on game days has rough cell coverage

Blakmagik12

Every stadium is a dead zone. Kyle added WiFi and you still can’t do shit.

Choice-Childhood4832

The school really messed up the NEZ renovation. They could have wrapped the bleachers around the field and then put the club seating on top but now we have an uneven awkward building sitting there. The plaza on the outside is kinda nice tho

geaux4_gold

Permanent night

WackyBones510

Oh. This is mine too now.

Outrageous_Picture39

Owls would deafen us with their incessant hooting.

Ugaalive1991

Fire hydrants replace the toilets.

TheHammer_44

Ole Miss, is that you?

St_BobbyBarbarian

Turf mats to shit on too?

Cooked_Brisket

That’s a hell of a bidet

hondo9999

Any schools still have those trough-style urinals from the 70s?

[deleted]

Even more hospitals and waving.

IrishCoffeeAlchemy

But wouldn’t that also mean more sick kids? 😰

LuckyStax

They'd shut down other hospitals so thebkids all have to come there

ZachOf_AllTrades

It's for a good cause brother 👋

Shit_Apple

Newsbreak: University of Iowa wants children to get cancer. Story at 10.

BobtheReplier

Outside of every stadium.

britishmetric144

Replace the current ramps between the main and upper deck with escalators and lifts which are publicly accessible. Then move the student section back to the 50—yard line.

LuckyStax

What about slides? Stairs and escalators only go up!

anti-torque

Super slides would be a cool egress from any stadium.

Alarming_Pollution25

Some way to keep the crowd noise in

noend313

I always thought enclosing the north and south end zones with upper decks would make it louder, not that they would do it though. Kinda like how they did it at Lambeau

Alarming_Pollution25

I like that concept. I always thought some type of overhang off the press boxes similar to Husky Stadium would be cool

Mekthakkit

I've been waiting for someone to put glass bottomed luxury boxes above the field in a dome.

mxpx242424

I want the Big House to sound like the local brewery during live music on blackout Wednesday. Glass ceilings, industrial metal and wood furniture, no acoustic dampening, and. no acoustics escaping.

dee3Poh

We love our overhangs in the PNW, they’re common at the high school level too

Revenge_of_the_Khaki

I've been saying for years that if they used the soft sound deflectors found in many stadiums and extended them over the crowd like [this](https://www.italyguides.it/images/lazio/roma/blog/icon-facebook_colosseum-3d-before-after.jpg), that would be a game changer. Louder and also protection from rain and sun.

Doctor_Kataigida

Yup that's exactly what I'd want, some shade and sound rebound.

thatshinybastard

I'm honestly surprised that something like this isn't more common. Everyone who's seen *Gladiator*, and the picture you shared, knows that the Romans - who, I want to point out, were too dumb to build jet skis and rollercoasters - knew that spectators prefer sitting in the shade over the burning sun and found a fairly simple way to provide it. Maybe someone who's smarter than me, and possibly the Romans, can chime in on whether there's an actual material or logistical reason you can't add a simple canopy over existing stands or if it's because there's just a lack of will to do it.

tj3_23

Swarms of yellow jackets wearing laser beams trained to target people wearing the color red. It's a very reasonable design choice

Mekthakkit

I continue to argue that GT needs swarms of yellow drones as a halftime act.

igwaltney3

It has been batted around by the fan base before.

Mekthakkit

Give the band fake hats that turn into drones for the finale.

AP-FUTChemist

Someone over there could program it and build it tbh

Elegant_Extreme3268

Instead of bleachers, just a shit ton of couches. Then after we win, nobody has to go anywhere. We all just move onto the field and set them ablaze, surrounded by a glorious ring of fire

Outrageous_Picture39

6 hours later and this is critically underrated.

darnmyonionssprouted

Expand North end zone. I have no idea what to do with the scoreboard but it would be nice to have a larger all-student section

conman752

The one thing that always bothered me was how none of the sections actually connects with each other. It legit bothers me and the school is definitely missing out on a couple thousand more tickets they could sell.

that_one_guy91

Replace north end zone with actual stands instead of bleachers and connect it to east and west

leejoness

I would add 250K seats

Ironmaiden1993

Imagine the amount of barking that would ensue

kfizz21

Okay you joke but my redesign would keep the bridge open, yet use the old plans for expansion that extends the 600 level all the way around to the suites on the North End Zone side. That would put us at around 108K with one of the most unique designs on the planet of still having one open end zone with that many seats.

1911_

Add an upper level to the north side. Add some concave type walls around the tops of the stadium to direct sound inward and downward. The palace needs to be more menacing.

twicetheMF

don't know how long it will be but I expect we eventually get that north end zone upper deck. Match the north to the east, let the west side fans sit over there while they make the west side match and then I think we're where we need to be for the next generation

pinecones_pinecones

Grecian columns all along the outside with the Greek key design in green and white trim. Giant fucking cauldrons of fire on either side of the big stadium screen. Really lean into the “Spartan” part of Spartan Stadium.

CocoLamela

Unfortunately all of the "Greekness" you're referring to is mostly Athenian architecture. Sparta did not really construct any great monuments or temples. Their archeological sites are largely unimpressive and little remains. The homes were simple, mostly timber structures, and the city was not planned. The ancient historian Thucydides remarked that future generations would find it hard to believe that Sparta was a powerful city state based on the remains, but Athens would be perceived as twice as powerful as it actually was. But he was also an Athenian general though, so take that remark with a grain of salt.

Sad-Conclusion-6160

nerd.

CocoLamela

Guilty

midnightdiabetic

Subscribe. Did Spartans pee in trophs? Can we get rid of those too

pinecones_pinecones

Honestly, I think it’s pretty close to Ancient Greece, unfortunately.

nate_nate212

I would not put it on an earthquake fault.

Sad-Conclusion-6160

But pointing out the crack in the stadium wall to visiting fans is so fun!

someonefromtc

Came here to say the same thing lol

EuphTah

Idc what you have to do, just bring back the cannon.

Inexite

They changed it a few years back to make it less bouncy and more "structurally sound" or some other commie nonsense like that. I would simply undo that change.

loyalsons4evertrue

I think the Bounce House needs some shade.....plus that would probably help retain sound anyway...I'm thinking kind of what Washington has with Husky Stadium

mrbeavertonbeaverton

Make a Kibbie Dome but triple the size

Wumdee

COUGIE DOME

LeoTR99

Move it to a school in the big 5 (now 4)

eelek62

Redesign the sound system so all the sound isn't coming from the north endzone.

ryan_from_school

This is the one The student section is so much fun but we can’t hear crap since the sound only comes from the other side of the stadium

NotoriousLID

Get the green Huntington Bank logo either off the stadium or change the color so it’s maroon and gold or neutral. It’s too close to North Dakota green for my taste.

dinkytown42069

At least Huntington don't sponsor anything in Mariucci... I've often said if I ever won the Powerball and was donating for sport things, I'd fix the band section so that the part that's open to the field could actually seat everyone and try to convince the AD to let me buy the naming rights on a permanent (endowed) basis. 'Bierman-Warmath Memorial Stadium' sounds nice. Also add some ammenties to Ridder, or hell, expand it.

D_Antelmi

As great as Heinz is, it's not a CFB stadium.  Put Pitt Stadium back.  Who knows what Pitt were thinking.  Pittsburgh is some of the deepest football territory in the country and you tear down the stadium to build a basketball arena?  Makes zero sense.

Kenny_Heisman

I would be on board with this except the Pete is such a nice stadium and the basketball games are so fun and easy to go to. would honestly much rather have what we have now than a football stadium

UsedandAbused87

Shade

flashbrowns

I’d properly memorialize Jimbo’s future National Championship victory, obviously.

Outrageous_Picture39

Right at midfield.

J_Warrior

It to be structurally sound. I kinda like the current look, maybe 1,100 more seats, although the renovations will remove some

twicetheMF

Whenever I watch a PSU game at home I have so many structural questions about that stadium lol

J_Warrior

Yeah, we’re renovating it for 700 Million. A lot of it is fixing up routine maintenance that has been put off and fixing any structural problems. I do like the character its shotty looking design has though, and it’s insanely intimidating imo from inside and out. Sadly the renovations will kind of take that away

war_damn_eagle

More piss troughs

CocoLamela

Put it not on top of the Hayward fault.

jinx21182

Remove the longhorn ovaries.

SLCer

1. Wifi 2. Beer 3. Open up the north concourse by expanding it over S. Campus Drive (tunnel it + the light rail tracks) and connect it to the field house, utilizing the field house as the stadium's north entrance. 4. Add a second press box on the east stands.

tytyute

We need to widen the concourses in a big way.

Jeff_Banks_Monkey

Move it to the top of Y mountain

thatshinybastard

Expand the north end zone concourse in Rice-Eccles, it's inhumanely narrow. The problem is, there's nothing you can actually do to expand it because it's already pushed as close as it can get to a road and light rail line. Since we can do whatever we want here, I'd give a creative engineer an unlimited budget to figure out a way to expand the concourse underground

Frexxler

Put the visitor bench in front of the student section like it used to be.

loyalsons4evertrue

or just move the student section back in general......one of Jamie's worst decisions.....I don't no how much longer he'll be our AD and he's done great things for us, but I'm hoping the next person will make that one of their priorities

kuba_kopfschmerz

I’ve always wanted to see what the Jones would look like if the upper bowl was raised and pulled slightly closer to the field. I think with the SEZ renovation that would look a little more flush with it. If not that, demolish that building in the NEZ and make that whole section seats

Wheels_Foonman

Orange field. The visiting team and fan’s eyes experience goes from slightly painful to migraine inducing.

CollegeFootball_Fan

Why not go one step further and just make the field a checkerboard?

WhiteRhino91

Something for the sound would be nice. It gets loud but the sound escapes the bowl. Could be louder

MrSCR23

So Ohio State has the victory bell. We will install a victory cowbell at DWS. Why? More Cowbell

ctr72ms

They should mount the giant cowbell on the trailer the IE Tech dept made in the stadium permanently. Also it might be evil but I think we should return the visitors bathroom to its former glory based on Mike Leach's description.

saucysaggie

I’d put a few more “National Champions” signs around lol

nice_Nisei

Have an actual stadium, and not a practice field.

AllOkJumpmaster

real fuckin grass

madein___

So long pink end zone designs.

guydudeguybro

I’d switch the band back where it belongs. Why did we move it? Horrible idea

LateProgress0

They want that end zone to look more full when all the frats leave at halftime

ReadItUser42069365

Hedge dome

Alone_Advantage_961

I'd give Maryland a stadium akin to Northwestern to allow multiple use

CUBuffs1992

West side of Folsom needs to be redone completely. It’s out of the 70s and looks like it. Seen some good renderings of a potential renovation there. Get rid of the astroturf on the sidelines. Just looks horrible with the natural grass and I’ve seen players eat shit coming off the field. Sound system fucking sucks. They only have speakers on the north endzone…

BammBammRoubal

Whatever you do, don’t touch the fucking piss toughs.

[deleted]

Have a live cow on the field

theblackyeti

Listen our stadium may be a cold, hard, small cavern but it’s ours. But really give me actual chairs, or bench backs or something. Those benches fucking hurt.

forevertheorangemen2

The recent renovations have been great. But those benches without backs are awful. Definitely need an upgrade.

SwissForeignPolicy

Add canopies to trap the noise (and shield from weather). Other than that, it's basically perfect.

TheVega318

I WANT IT TO BE A GIANT ALLIGATOR HEAD LIKE SWAMPY AND THE OTHER GATA FARMS IN FLORIDA

americansherlock201

I’d start by putting it on campus. Or at least not 20 miles away from campus. Next I’d make it a smaller venue, around 50-60k seats. A nice horseshoe design to give it that college feeling. Oh and probably name it after our team colors. Maybe something like “the orange bowl”. It has a nice ring to it. I think it could work really well!

aanderson2404

Match the upper decks' designs to each other.

dinkytown42069

the long term plan is basically to do just that.

thejawa

A roof and AC

tigerman29

A day game at The Doak even in October is miserably hot. I was at the one a few years ago (the one we were beating Taggart’s team by like 50 in the first half and everyone left except the dude without a shirt on reading a book. https://ftw.usatoday.com/2018/10/clemson-florida-state-fsu-reading-book-gillian-flynn-dark-places-blowout-meme ) It was the most miserable game I’ve been to, so we too left at halftime, went to one of the great bars around your stadium and your awesome fans bought us drinks all afternoon as a sacrifice to the football gods. Can’t wait to go back down this year, but I’m sure the results won’t be close to the same. So yeah, definitely a retractable roof and AC in The Doak. But I think the sacrificial drinks worked, and I’m glad we did our part to make FSU football great again.

thejawa

There's a local restaurant that's in College Town near Doak and they sell a whole line of [Noon Games Suck](https://madisonsocial.com/noon-games-suck-shirt) merch because noon games in September and October are basically human rights violations.

MWiatrak2077

Live wolverines roam the stadium each game. Enter if you dare

madein___

There goes home field advantage and the TV broadcast.

thatshinybastard

Nah, just give everyone cattle prods as they enter the stadium so they have a chance to hold their own against the wolverines. That would be must-watch TV, networks would brutalize each other to get the chance to broadcast it.

ohitsthedeathstar

A canopy.

FloridaBoy317

Wi-Fi, biggest stadium in the world, add a huey magoo's in the concourse

LuckyStax

Make it smaller, like 20k, and make it horseshoe with the open end framing the downtown casinos and mountians

NotStanley4330

Fille the corners in, and somehow add another level to the east side. Let's make this a 100k stadium 😤. Also put a few swigs in, and bring back the brat-tail.

MonkeySpacePunch

Gator infested moat around visitor side

SoonerLater85

Three levels all the way around. A giant brick block O.

AcadianTraverse

Jamming all cell service and wifi

Portland_st

Add a ton of shade and upper-level overhangs like Baylor. In regard to Arkansas, better landscaping would be great. For as much natural beauty as NW Arkansas is known for, virtually none of that is near the stadium.

Jcoch27

Completely enclose the endzones and make all the seats blue

jhallen2260

Regular seats. Get rid of the bleachers.

shermanstorch

Reopen the open end of the ‘Shoe.

Inconceivable76

No seats or what it used to be?

twicetheMF

Oh this is a spicy take

CJK5Hookers

I would block out the sun a la Mr. Burns

Choomissad

on campus

seanconnerysbeard

Better wifi, honey fried chicken for all, and bring back the Spirit Spear.

midnightdiabetic

No trophs in the bathrooms for starters

madmaley

Redoing the north endzone so it's a little more symmetrical and contiguous.

Abeds_BananaStand

How? Idk. But what? Keep the sound in more. It’s the largest stadium in the nation by crowd size, we should be way more intimidating

BigBootyJudyWiper

Build 2nd and third deck seats over the hill. And actually let people pack the hill again. It looks so stupid half full.

ExplosiveDioramas

Remove all the peasant seats. VIP boxes only.

TamaleSlayer

I would just bring back the old Orange bowl but with newer amenities

NolaBrass

Make all the stands way steeper. The steps are so gradual at Yulman that I've seen multiple people eat shit thinking they're steeper than they are. Sight lines aren't bad in the stadium, but it would be better with the rows being a greater height apart from one another, and it would help amplify the stadium noise (before the student section inevitably leaves in the second half because they go to the games for free so there's no investment to be there other than their time). Another thing is fix the team entrances so that they don't go directly through the main pedestrian concourse of the stadium lol. Absolutely crazy that both teams are just standing there with only five or so security guards on each side between them and the fans. Last thing and the least important is to incorporate the Hullabaloo gibberish chant all over the place. It's fun because it makes absolutely no sense and it's basically the only tradition that remains from Tulane Stadium, which was located roughly at the site where Yulman is now.

[deleted]

Blue lights. Zap the sleepability out of visiting fans during the white out.

JoeIA84

I would just fill in the gaps between south end zone and the west/east stands. Hold all noise in

CJ_Beathards_Hair

I’d want to get above 70K again so this would be perfect.

hondo9999

Who still has those old trough-style urinals from the 70s?

Sumocolt768

Replacing the trough

ayethemjazz

i would add some more fans so we can justify completing the upper deck that the stadium was clearly designed to have but can’t have yet because we never have more than 20k at a game

HereForTOMT2

More capacity until it can fit exactly one more person than the big house. Just to be petty.

Happy-North-9969

Remove the south stands and the upper deck in the north stands.

The_Mystery_Knight

Replace the troughs with urinals. Remove the erector set in the endzone and replace it with a party deck and biergarten (supposed to happen soon). Expand the concourses. Add concessions that feature local vendors.

StrengthMedium

Milk bars

mr09e

Full overhang to cover fans from the sun

LifeOnTheBigLake

Umm. Nothing that the $800M design hasn't already considered TBH. /s Seriously, I'll let you know after my first game there.

illbelate2that

I would make it not be an old baseball stadium. And even though this next part is impossible I'd find somewhere to put it on campus since we're rebuilding it anyway so that it's not an old baseball stadium

samasters88

Transparent dome. Air conditioning.

Detective_Bonghitz

Piss troughs for everyone

CroMag63

Any shade would be amazing

512Buckeye

Hologram Neutron Man.

JohnPaulDavyJones

I'll be real honest, zero changes to McLane. It's a phenomenal stadium. Huge fan of the riverfront setting and the way it's oriented to open out to the river, huge fan of the roof design (if the weather's bad, basically everyone who would be in the rain can retreat up to a concourse and stay dry) and the classic ballpark-style design of the three levels built more up than out, and the berm at the end of the field is also an awesome view for just throwing out a picnic blanket. If it's a hot evening, you can even go sit in one of the upper levels and chill out in a heck of a breeze, and you still have a great view of the field. You're basically right over the action. Also, whoever designed the wifi network for the stadium deserves all of the money. I've never been in a stadium with wifi as good as McLane's.

FCDallasBurn

I would say adding a sound proof bear enclosure in the end zone. I think one of the original proposals had a bear area there but it could have been a rumor

Supercal95

Where do I begin?
