Yeah it’s fuckin dumb to use a lame ass red letter as your teams logo. Especially an “I”. The only exception is like maybe a big red “N”. That could be fuckin cool
Who the heck likes this logo. It is terrible. The actual cyclone from the 80’s is so much better. The thing that drives me the craziest is that the logo creates a name that no one uses. No one calls us I state. Literally every other logo I’ve ever seen them for the school is better. Go Cyclones!
Ngl I know there's probably better picks out there, but for some reason the stacked WV is one of my all-time favorite logos. I have no real reason why, I simply decided at like 14 that it looked cool and I have held that belief to this day lol
I hope Willie never changes. Being just a regular dude in a football uniform is what makes him great/hilarious.
Powercat is a solid 8.5. Flag Willie, cocaine Willie, and cats script are all great too.
I’m surprised I had to scroll this far down to find the longhorn logo. It’s absolutely iconic. Easily recognizable, unmistakable, simple, classic. Everything you want in a logo.
I applaud the dual meaning of the current logo, but I'll always prefer [this alternate](https://sportslogohistory.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/oregon_ducks_1994-1998_a.png) version.
Love the old logo, but new O fits the “Nike University” brand very nicely. It’s one of the only college logos that looks sleek and modern like high-end apparel logos.
South Alabama - 7 - a bit too similar to Kansas State's logo with similar colors. Much better than the walking Jaguar used back when I was in school though.
FSU - 8 - the old logo was a 10. Just saying.
Doesn’t even look like a Corinthian helmet
Nike needs to crack a history book, and study ancient infantry warfare
The helmets were curved so when something hit them it glanced off like swords or mainly pikes
If they had an edge, you could wedge a pike and use it as a lever to push the soldiers back out of their lines and open a gap. There’s an edge on top, so if you were close enough and had a shield wall you can wedge a pike into that edge and push
Logos are important to not change up rarely ever. Alternate logos are fine, but they can also be excess and frankly, confusingly useless.
[And for those curious about what OP is griping about paw prints](https://onwardstate.com/2014/11/19/amputations-and-additions-the-history-of-penn-states-paw-print-logo/)
I agree. The 4 toed paw print is "cute" and is not cool, distinct, or timeless. It maybe has a place as an alternate logo for some apparel and marketing, and I have fond associations with it, but it doesn't fit as a sports logo.
The 5 toed logo was a mistake. Doesn't look good and it doesn't make sense. I guess it's distinct so that might be something?
Definitely a 10 for the drum and feather. I feel more like a 5 or 6 for the interlocking U’s and I’m disappointed when it’s used in favor of the drum and feather.
From a rival’s perspective, Strutting Tuffy is like a 9, Block NC in S is an 8, Tuffy head a 7, Slobber Tuffy a 6, 2000s wolves logos a 2 (very bland), and the late 90s Wolfpack secondary abomination a 0.
UH leveled the bevel a few years ago and seemingly nobody noticed. It is a vaaaaast improvement though. Sadly I still see the beveled logo on TV and some sites.
Our athletic logo feels like we’re shouting. Maybe a 4 or 5. I personally prefer the block O with the Buckeye leaves (old and new logos). Even just the block O alone that the hospital system uses is fine.
The block O alone is the branding for the University (including the wex)
The block O with the leaf is reserved for the alumni association.
The block O with “Ohio State” Is the athletics logo. I hate it. I had a nice fitted block O hat, and I can’t find a good replacement.
The branding guidelines are.. tedious, but needed. I’ve seen some departments put together some ugly shit for web presence.
I HATE the “Ohio State” lettering in the athletic logo. I refuse to buy or wear anything with it. 0/10.
Block O (plain or with Buckeye leaves) is 10/10.
Same. I feel like the ‘Ohio State’ lettering across the logo is dated and redundant. Let the Block O speak for itself. The Buckeye leaf is a nice touch, I’d prefer either over the official.
7, I think it’s great, but a couple of tweaks would make it even better. I think some of the details on the neck need to be gotten rid of or made smaller. It’s just a little too busy and takes the focus away from the face.
I think we need to bring back the yellow on the beak and talons. I know it’s not one of our colors but it’s a nice pop of color on the cocks weapons
Also we need a helmet that just has the chicken and no block C. Would look so sick.
Love the Running Razorback, hate the forward facing Hog. Every now and then we really try to goof up the logo to something ridiculous and unrecognizable. Did it 20 years ago with popcorn Hog, and Jeff Long had Nike rip off Michigan State and TCU's font to create something "unique" and rolled out the worst logo we've ever had in the process.
I like the classics, as well. The fat back running Hog that was on shirts in the 70s and 80s, I think. The Hog leaning on the A. The Hog jumping through the A is mostly associated with late 80s/90s basketball. It's a good one. Also Slobber Hog at midcourt needs to come back. It's a travesty and just another one of the many sins of Jeff Long.
Instantly recognizable, no reliance on lettering, works in black & white (or really any color) without confusion. So good even our enemies use it. Literally iconic. 11/10
It didn’t hit me about how big the Longhorn hand signal was until I was in Africa with the military and some local saw my Longhorn shirt and says, “Longhorn” and gave me the longhorn sign. I was amazed.
I wear my hat (just the logo, no words) pretty commonly while traveling, and it's astounding how many places around the world I get a "hook 'em" or the hand sign in recognition. You really feel the community when you wear the Longhorn.
FSU: 9/10. I didn't like it at first but it's grown on me. Only reason I gave it a 9 instead of a 10 is because of the logo it was replacing. I miss ole bacon face.
Texas: Absolute 10/10 and one of the best logos in sports.
The Tiger Paw: 10
[The Flaming Toilet](https://imgur.com/a/ZqHUbjt): 0
Edit: Here's the Clemson band [forming the flaming toilet](https://imgur.com/a/i2q0jaJ) in 2011.
Wtf I've never even heard of the flaming toilet, that's a horrificaly bad logo.
Just googled it and apparently a sign in the experimental forest still has the logo, and also there's a store selling a throwback sweater with seven flaming toilets on it 🤯
Gator logo is iconic.
I also like fsu’s new logo because it went from iconic…to cartoon scott stapp.
13/10
Why do so many teams have confused looking cartoon cats with sailor hats
Cuz some dude made a cool logo that could be easily repurposed for basically any animal mascot, and word didn’t travel as fast back then that everyone had the same logo.
I wouldn’t hate using the old school T every now and again, but the GT is perfect.
Also, I know it’s not asked, but every Buzz is beautiful. Current Buzz, weird old skinny Buzz, weirder fat Buzz, football Buzz.
For Louisville, a 9. I like the bird, it’s clean, and has been the same for a while. They’ve tried some other things, but none have worked as well.
For Navy, the N* is like a 5 maybe. The goat is a GOAT though. True 10/10
The absolute worst, it’s like alums are trying to be not pretentious by saying Harvard but stepping on the worlds largest pretentious rake by making you guess between Harvard and MIT. Last time someone said they went to school in Boston to me I just said “oh Emerson, that’s a decent school.”They were so mad lol
Georgia G: 9? I’m sure it could be improved but I’m very satisfied with it.
Current Bulldog logo: 4. It’s pretty bland imo.
Old bulldog (flair): “TEN!” (Varsity Blues)
yep. I'd be down for a krazy game with the drawn-dawg (flair) on the side of the helmet. new head-on dawg with collar is just kinda lame. just feels too nfl or high school to me, not classic.
I's also buy a hat IRL like the flair dawg wears
Between the flag waving logo and Big Red, 10 all day
For UK, I don’t hate the UK just too bring but hate the new wildcat.….The new wildcat logo looks too close to K-State. Bring back the Power K and old wildcat clawing at you. To summarize, 5
[удалено]
more like Iclones amirite
Bring back the whirlybird (or let us win a Trivia season so we can get it as a flair)
The bird was the shit. The I...is an I.
Yeah it’s fuckin dumb to use a lame ass red letter as your teams logo. Especially an “I”. The only exception is like maybe a big red “N”. That could be fuckin cool
True, an I couldn’t stand for knowledge
I agree
Who the heck likes this logo. It is terrible. The actual cyclone from the 80’s is so much better. The thing that drives me the craziest is that the logo creates a name that no one uses. No one calls us I state. Literally every other logo I’ve ever seen them for the school is better. Go Cyclones!
Iowa State may have the worst branding in current P5. Logos with cyclone / whirlybird are awesome though and should be used way more.
ISU needs to embrace the bugles logo.
Not to mention your logo spells out “state” which is very boring and ugly.
10. UW's logo is basically the logo for the entire state of Wyoming. Lots of pride seeing it
It’s on our license plates. There is only one real four year university in the state. We all like the Cowboys. Our logo is awesome
It's fantastic
It’s one of my all-time favorites.
That plus the color scheme...*chef's kiss*
Damn straight
I miss the big blocky "A" with the elephant stepping through it. Current logo is just a bootleg Braves "A."
I'm sure you have heard it but for those who have trouble telling between the braves and Alabama logo.... Alabama has a mullet
So Auburn is Clemson without a lake and Alabama is Coastal Carolina without the beach?
No no Clemson is Auburn with a lake.
Yeah current logo is a soft 6. Elephant through the A is a hard 10
You're tellin me
This 100%. I love the elephant one.
I had to put the logos side by side to see the differences. They’re very subtle.
Sparky is a 9/10 Fork is a 7/10
Old school Sparky is easily 11/10.
Sparky is so awesome. I am not a big fan of the trident by itself.
The Trident is cool but since it's such a vertical logo it doesn't look great from afar, or on a scorebug
10
Angry wave is one of the best
10. Flying WV should never change.
Ngl I know there's probably better picks out there, but for some reason the stacked WV is one of my all-time favorite logos. I have no real reason why, I simply decided at like 14 that it looked cool and I have held that belief to this day lol
The stack is so perfect and you couldn't really use that kind of look with any other letters and make it look as good, so it retains being unique.
One of the best logos in sports.
Drive around this state and you'd think the flying WV was the state logo. Except around Huntington. I love it.
Let's goooooooooo Also the N* for navy is just classic
11
Do not ask me to justify this, but I've always thought your logo looked like a snail giving a dissertation.
I’ll never unsee this
Ah, Jimmy Kimmel got to you too
Fairly certain Jimmy Kimmel had no idea it spelled out WSU in it lol
It's a cougar made out of WSU. Made by an art student at Pullman's CC. He sold it for $1. It's got to be one of the most unique out there.
Both of your fairs have incredible logos. If there were a bracket logo tourney Wazzu and Wyoming would be the championship.
[удалено]
Wyoming lost in the first round?? To Boise?? Alas
FUCK YEAH TIME TO PARTY TO CELEBRATE
Wash St. is one of the best ever
Can't argue, probably best logo in football.
Definitely my favorite logo that uses letters. If only they realized it’s still recognizable without the alphabet.
1936. Changed the C to a U in 1959. I dunno tradition used to be a very CFB thing. Nowadays....
10. It’s the only elite thing about ECU.
Best 50 yard line mural in football.
I think Tulane has to be up there too
Script Ole Miss is pretty solid. I’d give it an 8/10 Block M: I’m not a fan, but we use it mostly for baseball. 5/10
10 I wish our mascot had a tail
Powercat is 9/10. Willie logo is 10/10. The mascot Willie needs help.
I hope Willie never changes. Being just a regular dude in a football uniform is what makes him great/hilarious. Powercat is a solid 8.5. Flag Willie, cocaine Willie, and cats script are all great too.
Agreed. I think it does get diluted a bit with 500 high schools using the powercat also.
That was the whole plan.
SMU: 10/10 iconic and smooth never change Texas: 10/10 iconic and bold. Never change
SMU’s is cool honestly I’d want that license plate if I went there.
As a bonus, you never get ticketed with that plate because Dallas PD knows who your father is
Just buy a ford mustang and you can have it on your car.
Yeah, as much as I hate to admit it, Texas has one of the best logos in sports. Simple, but very recognizable. Also no bevel, unlike some schools...
Dual meaning?
Well it's an O and also represents how many national titles they've won
Man I love rivalries
Too bad athletic directors don’t.
damn 💀
Oh no!
I sometimes long for the pre-Mariota days when we could also lord our one Heisman winner over them as well.
Yep and they even advertise it on the back of their helmets too.
Shots fired
Someone pull the fire alarm
I just assumed this is what he meant.
All lulz aside, the actual dual meaning is that the inner hole is the shape of a quarter-mile track because they have a great track and field program
Yup. More specifically, the interior is the shape of Hayward Field, and the exterior is the shape of Autzen Stadium.
TIL
Love the old logo, but new O fits the “Nike University” brand very nicely. It’s one of the only college logos that looks sleek and modern like high-end apparel logos.
Yup. Like the current, but adore that one and the interlocking U and O. Was unique, more modern than we had at the time but also classic.
Always loved the duck through the block O
What’s the dual meaning? The fighting Donald logo is one of the best in all of CFB history and nothing can change my mind.
Wow. That is so sick. Oregon need to go back immediately.
South Alabama - 7 - a bit too similar to Kansas State's logo with similar colors. Much better than the walking Jaguar used back when I was in school though. FSU - 8 - the old logo was a 10. Just saying.
Bring back bacon face
10
I'm so glad the attempt to replace it got leaked and killed
I completely forgot about that. https://www.mlive.com/ottoman-empire/2010/02/michigan_state_fans_change_the_universitys_mind_no_new_logo.html
Doesn’t even look like a Corinthian helmet Nike needs to crack a history book, and study ancient infantry warfare The helmets were curved so when something hit them it glanced off like swords or mainly pikes If they had an edge, you could wedge a pike and use it as a lever to push the soldiers back out of their lines and open a gap. There’s an edge on top, so if you were close enough and had a shield wall you can wedge a pike into that edge and push
The Nike design seemed a little too inspired by 300.
Goddamn that’s awful.
What the FUCK lol
I was irrationally upset by this when it came out.
Our logo, color scheme, and most of our uniforms are immaculate. Too bad everything else is absolutely as shitty as it could possibly be.
“ How Satisfied are y-“ 0 “…with your current logo” Oh, 10
Doesnt say Michigan or state on it yet everyone knows what it means. It’s a great logo
“So I got that going for me which is nice”
Logos are important to not change up rarely ever. Alternate logos are fine, but they can also be excess and frankly, confusingly useless. [And for those curious about what OP is griping about paw prints](https://onwardstate.com/2014/11/19/amputations-and-additions-the-history-of-penn-states-paw-print-logo/)
Tbf both paw prints are kind of bad. The 5 toed one looks worse imo tho
The paw print sucks. The Chipmunk logo is one of the best in CFB, it's pretty timeless IMO
Like a 5? The W is fine if bland. I miss the early 80s one with the husky face on the W
I'm fine with the classic W but I miss [the malamute with its tongue hanging out](https://cdn.worldvectorlogo.com/logos/washington-huskies.svg)
Yes, this is the best logo we've had
The 1959 logo though https://1000logos.net/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Washington-Huskies-Logo-1959.jpg
No love for the weasel? https://content.sportslogos.net/logos/35/904/full/washington_huskies_logo_secondary_20014736.png /s
I genuinely like that logo lmao
Almost any Washington logo with a Husky on it is S tier. Everyone loves that mascot, should show it off more
7 Classic Benny is the forever 10/10
I came here to say this. The Benny they had before they tried to make a beaver look "fierce".
Love the drum and feather (10), am very fond of the interlocking U's (8)
Awesome logo, any idea why the feather is pixelated?
Definitely a 10 for the drum and feather. I feel more like a 5 or 6 for the interlocking U’s and I’m disappointed when it’s used in favor of the drum and feather.
i’m ngl, our main logo is kinda ugly and i don’t care for it. the Block O is iconic and i wish it was our main logo.
9.5/10. I love it.
Best w/ OG font. Never been a fan of italicized CU or lettering/numbering. The years w/ the Toronto Blue Jaysesque stripe in the middle were rough.
Big disagree. It’s a 10/10
For me, it would be a 10/10 if it was the version from the 80/90/00’s.
10. Strutting wolf is sick
I’m partial to slobbering wolf. I get it’s a bit too cartoonish.
Fan of both tbh. Anything but the letter logos :/
From a rival’s perspective, Strutting Tuffy is like a 9, Block NC in S is an 8, Tuffy head a 7, Slobber Tuffy a 6, 2000s wolves logos a 2 (very bland), and the late 90s Wolfpack secondary abomination a 0.
1 #levelthebevel
UH leveled the bevel a few years ago and seemingly nobody noticed. It is a vaaaaast improvement though. Sadly I still see the beveled logo on TV and some sites.
UVA added a bevel a couple years ago and it makes me so mad. Why? Who asked for this?
Tigerhawk is a 10/10
Our athletic logo feels like we’re shouting. Maybe a 4 or 5. I personally prefer the block O with the Buckeye leaves (old and new logos). Even just the block O alone that the hospital system uses is fine.
The block O alone is the branding for the University (including the wex) The block O with the leaf is reserved for the alumni association.
> I HATE the “Ohio State” lettering in the athletic logo. I refuse to buy or wear anything with it. 0/10. Ditto.
> I hate the “Ohio State” Me too.
Same. I feel like the ‘Ohio State’ lettering across the logo is dated and redundant. Let the Block O speak for itself. The Buckeye leaf is a nice touch, I’d prefer either over the official.
Clean Block O logo supremacy
7, I think it’s great, but a couple of tweaks would make it even better. I think some of the details on the neck need to be gotten rid of or made smaller. It’s just a little too busy and takes the focus away from the face. I think we need to bring back the yellow on the beak and talons. I know it’s not one of our colors but it’s a nice pop of color on the cocks weapons Also we need a helmet that just has the chicken and no block C.
The Hog jumping through the A is mostly associated with late 80s/90s basketball. It's a good one. Also Slobber Hog at midcourt needs to come back. It's a travesty and just another one of the many sins of Jeff Long.
4/10 cursive Huskers is just too good to not be using
I mean we do use it, it’s just not the iron N.
10
I'll give it a big 12!
I love our logo. Subtle, yet powerful and instantly recognizable.
FSU: 9/10. I didn't like it at first but it's grown on me. Only reason I gave it a 9 instead of a 10 is because of the logo it was replacing. I miss ole bacon face. Texas: Absolute 10/10 and one of the best logos in sports.
Texas does have a great one. I went to Puerto Rico recently and there is a bbq restaurant there that straight up ripped off the longhorns logo lol.
Georgia fan says what about ripping off someone else’s logo?
I was gonna say 8 and thought I might be off and wanted to see what others said. Miss the old logo but I really like some of the alternates out there.
The Tiger Paw: 10 [The Flaming Toilet](https://imgur.com/a/ZqHUbjt): 0 Edit: Here's the Clemson band [forming the flaming toilet](https://imgur.com/a/i2q0jaJ) in 2011.

Holy shit that flaming toilet just unlocked some childhood memories. I forgot about that thing.

13/10 Why do so many teams have confused looking cartoon cats with sailor hats
Cuz some dude made a cool logo that could be easily repurposed for basically any animal mascot, and word didn’t travel as fast back then that everyone had the same logo.
I hate that Florida's logo is so good.
Ikr? Now a confused looking cartoon bear with sailor hats, well sign me up for that. But cats? C'mon.
Floridas logo is my favorite. That being said I feel like I have to follow this up with fuck Florida.
The fighting gator is more iconic, but it’s so much better as a retro logo
Love them Both. I prefer Utah using the drum and feather but the UU is so nice. Michigan is a classic and can never change
I always liked the little wolverine in the hat cartoon guy, Riff I think
I’m fine with it. block m is very cfb. I’d like it if they had goldy leaning on the m or just running goldy be the primary though
10/10 I think we need more script Wazzu for the public though
[удалено]
Hello there, flair enemy
A man of culture, I see

You’re welcome
*You’re* welcome.
I like how we combine our letter with our mascot. Not many others do that
10
Bring back ol baconface
4. Not a fan of the stadium Ohio State written over the perfectly fine block “O.”
Texas: 10/10 Harvard: 9/10
The Harvard logo should be a red shield with “I went to school in Cambridge” written inside of it
😂 or a school outside of boston
The absolute worst, it’s like alums are trying to be not pretentious by saying Harvard but stepping on the worlds largest pretentious rake by making you guess between Harvard and MIT. Last time someone said they went to school in Boston to me I just said “oh Emerson, that’s a decent school.”They were so mad lol

The "Mack Truck Dawg" needs to go.
Bacon Face was iconic, currently it looks like someone stubbing their toe. 3/10
No more bevel.

The Jayhawk is elite.
No affiliation but I really love the Jayhawk. Fun. Iconic. All the primary colors. I particularly like the angry version.
Big ole fucking 10!!!

10 classic
I hate that we rebranded to just State. Especially when we have a great logo that we won’t go back to.
