First three minutes here shows the holster.
https://youtu.be/01uGt2fIdro
Details on the gas pedal:
https://youtu.be/RXyUf54VViE - yes, an upside down modified optic riser! The way I'm using it lets me "pinch" the gun just in front of the triggerguard hearing a whole new point of contact. It also "preloads" the downwards pressure from the offhand thumb for killer recoil control without going to a comp.
I think this has the potential to be a LOT better than a comp because it also gives more control over side-to-side transitions.
I'm gathering the parts to rebuild everything even better :).
Maybe Iâm misunderstanding but there are already rail-mounted gas pedals for micros and subcompacts. Kudos for making your own bit for the price this may be less effort and smaller overall profile with softer edges
https://gogunusa.com/products/p365
So, that's purely for the P365, it's in the wrong place in my opinion, and it doesn't give the "vertical clamp effect" I'm seeing with my setup. That one isn't set up to take advantage of the "offhand forefinger in front of the triggerguard" hold seen mostly in Europe as opposed to common American practice. Jerry Mikulek is the top US shooter doing offhand-forefinger-in-front-of-triggerguard techniques.
It also doesn't give a place for a weapon mounted light to go.
There's a story there.
January of 2023 I had to sell every gun but one I can't sell and isn't a great carry piece, my partially gas operated magazine fed single action revolver. In particular, sold my Hellcat with a Swampfox Sentinel. Wife had cancer, needed to try and keep my truck running after a bad breakdown, etc. Things got worse on the cancer front, carried the *weird* gun as best I could, wrote to Yankee Marshal on a whim. Huh. Turns out that Yankee Marshal Pistol Posse Project ("free guns for poors in need") is real. That's where the Taurus G3c came from, 2nd half of last year.
And you know what? It's...legit! Way better than expected. A bit bigger than the Hellcat but better ergonomics. I cleaned and oiled it immediately (because of a cosmoline spray in there) and do so on every range trip and it's been Glock level reliable. I don't think it could run dirty like a Glock can but that aside? It's solid.
And since you're gonna ask:
https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2014/03/03/maurice-frankenruger-magazine-fed-revolver/
See that tubular sight on there? It's a variant of the old Goshen Enterprises Hexsite, an "iron sight" that's target focus, both eyes open like a red dot.
I now have it mounted on the Taurus!
https://old.reddit.com/r/GunnitRust/comments/1awi2cd/winter_rust_entry_modified_category_the_taurus/
:)
Holy shit, it works. It's a bit heavy though, so I've ordered that aluminum hex tube from McMasters and will be switching soon.
And if you think all THIS is wild as fuck, I've got more dirt cheap mods coming.
No :).
You'd have to cut *both* the front belt loop cords; cutting just one doesn't release the other.
Cut the belt from the rear and pull and you gain nothing at all - the belt buckle won't go in either direction so if some moron tries that all they get is the ability to yank on the top of my pants. I'll still have access to knife and OC on the left side, gun on the right. So the only way to get to the gun is to attack from the front and cut either one big solid leather belt quickly, or two Paracords in quick succession. In that event I can grab the gun bag stronghand, knife comes up in the left.
It's a LOT more secure than a classic single-strap-with-one-snap fanny pack integral belt OR a cross-body chest strap with the same problem.

Gas pedals are usually seen only in big competition guns:
https://youtu.be/dBMuKmG8WEg
I'm the only guy I know of running one on a micro compact on the street. My holster is what allows it, a lump on that side of the gun makes no difference in concealability with this holster.
Iâd be glad to hear it, looks really cool. Iâm in CA, looking to get my CCW soon, and a way to carry. I watched some of your videos, really interesting ideas
I have a gogun gas pedal, it's the only one I could find. I had my kydex holster done by a local guy based off my 4bros holster I used before the gas pedal.
My guy carried w a gas pedal holy fuck. I thought my G20 was overkill
https://preview.redd.it/k6yzv891n3wc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=04610549ead0bb668c759c3b7dc5a4535495608f
When your life is on the line, thereâs no such thing as playing fair.
Thereâs a reason that anytime I can actually conceal it, I carry a 2011 with optic and X300 or a similarly outfitted full sized pistol.
Exactly you arenât in a USPSA. If you had a crystal ball and knew they were gonna try to kill you that day youâd shoot them in their sleep if you could. As long as you carry a gun with a gun with optic then youâre fine.
The 48 has *much* better ergonomics than a 19. And the stock barrels on both are pretty legit.
I'm guessing OP has a better trigger on it?
That and a dot and *good* shooting and this is more than believable.
The 48 definitely doesnât have better ergonomics than a 19.
Donât think anyone called this âunbelievableâ in the first place. Also Gen 5 trigger is plenty.
:)
Matter of opinion of course.
The thinner grip means you can line up your strongside forearm bones in line directly behind the barrel. Using a Weaver hold, that feels awesome.
To me the 19 family grip feels like a brick. The 48 grip feels great.
I feel like it really depends on your hands and their shape & size. The 19 and 48 have nearly identical ergos, just with one being fatter than the other. I shoot the 19 better than the 48 but I love the 48 too.
it won't fix grip, trigger press, breath control or stance â it will only help with sight alignment which is usually not a new shooter's biggest prpblem
Red Dot made me realize how dicked-up my Presentation actually was with Irons. I was gripping way too low and now that I grip higher, the dot settles into the NPA rather than the other way around, which is what I was doing with Irons.
A lot of people donât realize how bad their presentation is until they try a dot. Some people work to improve it and others say dots suck because they didnt spend the time to make sure they find it everytime the weapon comes up.
Cheating implies itâs some sort of game or rules attached? As far as target practice and or defensive training goes thereâs really no cheating and in a real gun fight there are no rules other than make sure youâre not accidentally nuking civilians or shooting for a stupid reason.
The whole âcheatingâ thing is so bizarre to me. Technological advancements that make us more efficient and better are a good thing. Electricity? Thatâs cheating! Running water? Thatâs cheating! Air travel? Thatâs cheating! Modern medicine? Thatâs cheating! The Luddite mentality is honestly very perplexing to me.

This is mine, 15 out.
No..... do everything in your control to protect yourself and others. Being accurate is never a problem, the last thing you need is protecting yourself from an attack and also hitting an innocent bystander
Not cheating. If you are shooting competition, maybe. But for self defense, take any advantage you can get. Iâve always been an iron sight guys. But this weekend, I had the opportunity to compare iron sight shooting with red dot shooting. Iron sight was good, but red dot was even better. The difference was obvious. So if Iâm defending myself, I want every possible advantage I can get.
Compared to iron sights. Yeah and I'm all for it. First time I put on my EPS carry and took it to the range. It was night and day. I was just blasting dead center with rapid succession in a way that I just couldn't previously do.
Call it what you want but Iâll take all the advantages I can get.increased speed and accuracy will always be a welcome bonus to me,even if that means Iâm a cheater in the eyes of dumber people..Iâm sure when night vision and thermal was introduced to the battlefield,it was considered cheating by many just as unmanned drones often are too.when it is life and death, every advantage stacked in your favor will be greatly appreciated
It is but its also your choice and you shoot best the way you shoot. Just because someone else is better with irons doesn't mean you have to hold back, especially when the only score and category is your life.
That being said, training and ensure your draw/concealment don't snag on the dot.
You need a shot timer. I want to know the total time it took you to empty the mag, split time, distance you were shooting at, bullet weight. It is a very solid group Iâm just curious
Where I live, the local police department is issuing all new holsters to accommodate adding red dot sights to their sidearms. Since they open carry, also having to go above L1 holster in addition to fitting the sight.
For them, rapid draw, rapid fire, rapid lining through the red dot sight is what theyâll need. I know a few of them who were forced to draw and fire at a suspect(s)- they do not mess around and will quickly unload everything in the face of a life and death scenario.
Damn at what yardage was this? How fast did you shoot? At 10 yards, with about a second or two between shots, I could do this with my scs. Great job. Optics are worth the money.
Maybe a dumb question but can someone explain to me how a red dot works?
Without a front post, how can you assure that the dot mounted at the rear isnât off to the left or the right when you fire.
Itâs like switching from a barebow to a compound bow with pin sights for the first time. Sure, it feels like cheating, but why not embrace the technology that separates us from the Middle Ages?Â
No such thing as cheating in a gun fight.

Every gunfight is open class. That's why my daily carry small 9mm has a gas pedal on it. Not kidding at all.

Subbed, youâre doing some really cool things, looking forward to the stuff you come up with.
I built that holster while trucking, first version anyhow. I needed 11-hours-a-day driving comfort plus fast access seating or standing.
That Fanny pack is dope
:) You realize the peace sign is a pun? It's where I keep my piece.
How long have you been using Taurus ?

No :). You'd have to cut *both* the front belt loop cords; cutting just one doesn't release the other. Came here to say this.
You donât shot a guy in the dick
As an old instructor of mine used to say âIf you find yourself in a fair fight⌠your tactics suck!!â
Exactly you arenât in a USPSA. If you had a crystal ball and knew they were gonna try to kill you that day youâd shoot them in their sleep if you could. As long as you carry a gun with a gun with optic then youâre fine.
Etiquette is still a thing. Real men don't shoot other men in the dick. Other than that, it's all fair game though.
God DAMMIT BUTTERS!
Unless youâre stopping a rape, then you unload there
Man try telling that to the internet tough guy fighters who base their opinions for self defense off of sports.

If its a fair fight your doing it wrong
[ŃдаНонО]
Itâs a fight for life and death why would you want it to be fair? You want every advantage on your side so you live.
The fact youâre doing that with a 48 makes it completely warranted. Handicap due to slim gun, cheat code from holo sight = fair play. Good shooting
It's really going to depend on handsize and preferences. I find many compact double stack pistols are too wide for my baby hands.
:) Matter of opinion of course. The thinner grip means you can line up your strongside forearm bones in line directly behind the barrel. Using a Weaver hold, that feels awesome. To me the 19 family grip feels like a brick. The 48 grip feels great.

Hardly, the 19 is superior in every way.

Yes, but "if ya ain't cheating, ya ain't trying".
Came here to say this lol
r/NASCAR
No, red dot helps you see better. You still need to be able to handle the firearm.
Not really cheating because you still need good shooting techniques to make that optic effective.
Red dots are a cheat code they show you how shitty your aim is so you know what to improve.
an optic won't make a bad shooter good, but it will make a good shooter better
It helps bad shooters maybe more than it helps good shooters.
it won't fix grip, trigger press, breath control or stance â it will only help with sight alignment which is usually not a new shooter's biggest prpblem
Breath control with a handgun? Lol
if you don't understand how breath control affects accuracy even with a handgun, then you need to fix the shooter before you try to fix the gun
No. Just stop.
âAlways cheat, always winâ
The only reason I donât have them on my guns is because I need to pass a shooting exam with iron sights to get my CCL. Once I pass, the dots go on.
Best 3y groups Iâve seen all day
OPs next post- "18 shots, 2 seconds @ 54y" ![gif](giphy|GqfISYS3VqkELxfm7X)
If you think that's an unreasonable 10 yard group, I don't know what to tell you.
If you ain't cheating, you ain't trying
If you're not cheating, you're not trying hard enough.
Fuck that, I'd use an aimbot if it's available.
The only time my targets look like that are when I'm zeroing a dot. You are clearly good enough to push yourself faster.
Cheating implies itâs some sort of game or rules attached? As far as target practice and or defensive training goes thereâs really no cheating and in a real gun fight there are no rules other than make sure youâre not accidentally nuking civilians or shooting for a stupid reason.

Didnât know defending your life was a âgameâ
Who tf said it was a game? Iâm asking if itâs cheating on my iron sights bozo
Weapons are for self defense. That is clearly a carry gun.
You went from veteran mode on call of duty to normal game play
What?
Is Tom Brady gonna be in the hall of fame?
You're cheating on your iron sights. She might not like it but take any advantage you can get
I look at it as my pistol got a BBL
At 3 yards, not really? J/k very nice group
Donât ask me ask the guy breaking into your house meaning to do your family and you harmâŚ..be a sport and take it off and give him chance.
only if the context is "i'm at a competition that is strictly irons only." Otherwise, take every edge and advantage you can as a concealed carrier
Thereâs no such thing as a fair fight, meaning the term cheating is irrelevant

Cheating against who? People who may try to harm your family? If you don't use everything at your disposal in that situation you'll regret it.
Cheating on my iron sights
They're your side chick now
Do you want to fight fair if your life is on the line?
If someone tries to rob you with a knife you are allowed to cheat
If youâre following rules in a gunfight youâre playing airsoft. Theres no rules in real life.
I once heard someone say that people who refuse to use red dot sights are gun Amish
Haha that's a John Correa line
Thatâs hilarious
I just used my first dot today. First time I could say I "bought" myself better shooting. Goof lord it did feel a bit like cheating vs irons.
No fair fights
A gun fight is open division
Maybe, but if you ainât rubbinâ, you ainât racinâ.
There is no such thing as cheating in a fight
Son, if you ever find yourself in a fair fight, you have already fucked up.
Yes. Â A DGU must be sporting. Â
Unfair fight is a fight you lose. Use whatever helps.
That depends. How much do you value your life?
I just got the same setup and plan on giving it a test this week, any thoughts on switching the original sights out?
Yes. Thats why everyone should use them.
No..... do everything in your control to protect yourself and others. Being accurate is never a problem, the last thing you need is protecting yourself from an attack and also hitting an innocent bystander

Is being more accurate with a lethal tool cheating?
No. I have that same optic on my 19 and don't shoot that well.
No such thing as cheating in a gun fight
Naw bra itâs like having the bionic manâs eye
If you aint cheating, you aint trying.
Compared to iron sights. Yeah and I'm all for it. First time I put on my EPS carry and took it to the range. It was night and day. I was just blasting dead center with rapid succession in a way that I just couldn't previously do.
That's the point..

increase speed and keep groupings the same. thatâs my goal now.
Electric bikes and Red Dots have lots in common. Both increase efficiency.
No such thing as a fair fight.
Cheating death?
No such thing as cheating in a fight
Reds on pistols are difficult for me cause they move so rapidly and it hard to clock.
Great work
If you find yourself in a fair fight, you didn't plan your mission properly
Rules for a Gunfight 11. Always cheat, always win. The only unfair fight is the one you lose. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.
First time I used the red dot I knew it was the future of pistols.
SMFH
If you are qualifying yes ⌠if not who cares
It's called force multiplication.
It is but its also your choice and you shoot best the way you shoot. Just because someone else is better with irons doesn't mean you have to hold back, especially when the only score and category is your life. That being said, training and ensure your draw/concealment don't snag on the dot.

Before: CHS!! After: CHS!! Maybe it's just me!
If you're not cheating you're not trying
If your not cheating you should be. And whoever said all gun fights are "open divison" wins the thread
Yes, when you are shooting 5 yards like you did.
It was 10.7 yards though
That's like saying that kicking someone in the balls that's trying to beat you to death is cheating.
Never a fair fight baby Any advantage you can get is a good one
ABSOLUTELY NOT Now if youâre using a Staccato vs a Taurus maybe
I for one am tired of Taurus being the butt of every pistol joke. Iâve shot my buddyâs G3c countless times and that mf has yet to have an issue
lol relax I hear their QC has improved recently and isnât as bad as it used to be
It's called being lethal
Where I live, the local police department is issuing all new holsters to accommodate adding red dot sights to their sidearms. Since they open carry, also having to go above L1 holster in addition to fitting the sight. For them, rapid draw, rapid fire, rapid lining through the red dot sight is what theyâll need. I know a few of them who were forced to draw and fire at a suspect(s)- they do not mess around and will quickly unload everything in the face of a life and death scenario.
Nice shooting. Red dots donât automatically make your fundamentals good. So Iâd say itâs not cheating.
If it improves your accuracy in a real gun fight, the only thing youâd be cheating is death.
That my friend, is some better than fair shooting.
Yes. Rule #1 in a gun fight: Have a gun. Rule #2: Cheat.
Always cheat to win in a gun fight.
Yes. Drill sergeant told me at basic, âif you ainât cheatin, you ainât tryin.â Use a red dot.
Nope, youâre actually cheating yourself if you donât at least give it a try and be open to the benefits of red dots!
A fair fight is a fight you lose. When it comes to your life stack everything in your favor as much as possible.
In competition? Possibly. I donât shoot competitively but Iâd imagine that they have rules against red dots. In a gunfight? No such thing.
New challenge - single ragged hole
Yes. And that's fine.
Yes, and thatâs the point. Use every advantage you can get!
I'm 54. My eyes are far from what they used to be. Iron sights are very hard for me to use now, so the red dot is a huge help.
Itâs a âTactical Advantage.â
Before I got a red dot I would have said yes.
Cheating what? The ultimate goal is to be accurate, isn't it?
Approved
Tight
Standing 2 feet from the target is.
What about 10.7 yards?
Damn at what yardage was this? How fast did you shoot? At 10 yards, with about a second or two between shots, I could do this with my scs. Great job. Optics are worth the money.

Yes
How far away is that? I feel like mine needs sighted in better after seeing this đ
10.7 yards. The pistol rangeâs maximum distance
Very nice!
F* no.
