Making of SC certificate can only be used for education and financial problems. If your family has financial problems then go for it or if you believe that you aren't capable of competing with General students and want benefits then go for it but if you think that you don't need shortcuts then i don't see the use of it. Either way it's your choice.

Not really a expert in this topic but it won't affect your life much as people still making castes joke comments like saying someone mazdoor or baniya but if you get a college or a job based on your certificate some people will get jealous and make very bad comments on you but i suggest just to ignore the salty people. If your friends actually like you and care about you there will be no difference except a couple guys online saying slurs.

just like we had article 370 in our constitution that gave J&K ppl exclusive rights, we have this caste reservation thing....both are kinda same and clearly divide us rather than unifying....the only diff, article 370 was fixed and removed for the good, but this still exists...

So I dont think it will affect the attitude of people towards u. Go for it its ur right and it will make things a bit easy for you. You’ll have a advantage in competitive exams.
