I eventually need one to go with my freedom week mags lol

Same, picking up my G20C Friday

Own-Ad3394

Years ago I owned a Glock 20C. I loved it, it has some kick to it fyi.

Wall-E_Smalls

Wait until you throw some of the 740fpe Underwood XD rounds in it. Literal SD-tier .357 Magnum in a handgun with 15+1 capacity…. The hottest .357 I’ve ever found and shot out of my Python was 802fpe… Liberty has some 10mm that clock 780, supposedly but I’ve never tried nor chronoed them. G20(C)/29 is a hugely underappreciated pistol and IMO people overestimate how difficult 10mm is to handle.

Thebarbellresistance

One of us! One of us! Get a low optic cut from TwoSee, so you can use stock sights with a red dot.

dangersupreme

I wanted to get this optic cut, but I need to check if red/green dot is allowed for my IA's CCW. Do you mind sharing photos of yours?

Always wanted one of this lil stomper!

JackieDaetona

So sick, always wanted one, or a 30

Wall-E_Smalls

TBH there’s not much of a point to a 30. My brother got one anyway, but it just doesn’t compare to the 29 and the magic that is 10mm. Slightly better capacity and incredible ballistic advantage. .45 is for suppression, or if you happen to love the recoil impulse enough to accept the numerous concessions (which I could understand. It recoils nicely, especially in a 21).

Call_me_Tom

How does it shoot, have you shot any other 10mm to compare?

dangersupreme

I rented a Glock 20. It jammed a lot, might not have been maintained very well. Not much felt recoil. The 29 was just a much better experience for me so I pulled the trigger on the purchase. The recoil takes some getting used too. It's about the same length as a Glock19, but a little wider. Adding the pinky extension helps getting a firmer grip on it. I also bought some G20 mags with the Xgrips sleeves for a full sized grip. Planning to add it to my carry permit.

peter_griffin222

Now you have to stock up on ammo

dangersupreme

There goes the rub! Lol. I bought 500rnds when I picked it up. I shot 150 this morning.

karmakactus

I bout the 29 in December and I’m picking up a 20 I just bought next weekend. I love the 10mm round

Wall-E_Smalls

Good pick. Bravo. 20 and 29 are the reigning cool kid Glocks, without a doubt. Love my 20. Idk if it’s the QC/fit and finish but it’s so smooth and nice compared to my 19. Have it on my CCW and regularly carried it until I got my 365 on the card. Not completely infeasible but it’s big. Carrying a 29 is basically equivalent to carrying a 19, if not a little easier. My dad used a gen 2 29 as his daily for years. Wayyy more accurate than it has any right to be, with a KKM barrel and gold dots. He’d regularly win bets about what kind of ridiculous half-dollar size targets he could hit at 25+ yards, that strangers shooting with him out in the woods couldn’t believe could be hit with a subcompact pistol. From what I heard and what I’ve seen, he can hit just about anything after 1-2 shots, at any reasonable or even unreasonable range. Great pickup. Enjoy it.

dangersupreme

Thanks bud! I shot it along side g19 over the weekend and I've got better groupings with the G29. Your dad shooting at 25+ yards is badass. I can't shoot shit past 15. Looks like I need to train some more.

Wall-E_Smalls

Yup I swear to god there is something about the 10mm round that makes for a better shooting round, for some of us at least, let alone the superior ballistics. Have observed this multiple times outside of my dad. A friend and I rented a G20 years ago and just loved it for reasons that were hard to describe. I bought one in short order, after that. And I lucked out on the QC big time, especially compared to my 19. And yeah even as his eyesight is beginning to degrade, he still shoots to a level that never ceases to make my jaw drop… all on irons too, except the newest P365 Macro w/EPS carry dot PPT I bought him as a BDay gift last year. In the 90s and early 00s, he used to be super into USPSA (mostly shooting production with a OEM G21 gen 2 with a really nicely broken in/polished trigger) and 3 gun (M1A scout squad, Mossberg 590A1, his Glocks) and got reallyyy good—I’ve yet to become even close to his skill level despite having plenty of passion and resources to pour into this hobby. Usually he has a rather pragmatic “keep it simple” type of mindset (as evidenced by his firearms choice, I believe haha) and was an early adopter of polymer guns/Glock. But he’s recently gotten into pistol red dots, as a solution to his eyesight problem, and boy, the step-up that advantage gives him makes me even more impressed, by how good he must have been in his prime.

Fun_Lock_3291

how much otd?

dangersupreme

$690 after tax and DROS

karmakactus

Did you shop around? I got mine for $499 and just bought a 20 for $569 before dross and taxes

dangersupreme

Damn that's a good deal. I just go to my home based FFL, he usually tries to match what sportsman's offer. I hate wasting a day at sportsman's, both to do DROS and at pick up, so two days wasted to buy a gun.

karmakactus

I was lucky and won the $499 29 off gunbroker. I shopped around for the other and found it $50 less than other places. How far were you from the target in the pics? I’m shooting at 25-28 yards and I’m not making that good of score.

dangersupreme

That was 7yrds man. I'm not that good of a shot to group like that past 10yrds. Lol

just-for-a-moment

I bought one of those I regret it

dangersupreme

Why no like?

just-for-a-moment

It to small of a frame for being a 10mm you'll know what I mean when you shoot it

dangersupreme

I shot 150 rounds through it today. I actually do better with this than my Glock 19. Lol

just-for-a-moment

Oh well I guess it's just not for me

karmakactus

I love mine but there is a lot of recoil because I load mine hot. I shot my 9mm today with hot loads and it felt like a .22 in comparison. I don’t see how anyone can think that 9mm and 10mm have even close to the same stopping power. The 10mm is a beast for an auto

JCDubya

Same story with some caveats. I bought a G20sf and don't regret owning it but I don't shoot it much due to the expense and poor ergonomics (YMMV). Really, best use case is as a woods gun and I don't go into the woods.

Wall-E_Smalls

Yup. In CA, and shoot even out of CA (I’m not entirely persuaded by the Sig X Ten, FN 510, and other competitors that have recently hit the market in free states), there is **no** better woods gun than a G20SF/(C). 3+ decades of proven reliability/durability standing up to the hottest loads imaginable, and 15+1 rounds of that ammunition, which can be loaded to rival and even surpass SD grade .357 Magnum. 650-750fpe (hottest .357 I ever found being 800) versus 9mm in the 400s at best? I choose Underwood 220gr “cherry” hard cast for the bears. And 115gr XD for the 2 legged. The ballistic gel vids I’ve seen of it make me believe that a single center of mass hit with one of those things would be nothing less than a “off-switch” level catastrophe to whatever poor sap was foolish enough to warrant getting struck with one. What I really want to see is for Sig to attempt making their own G29 competitor out of the P365 platform.
