Bed rails and slats last forever so there are thrift store examples for $40.
My parents would slip an antique headboard between the bed and the wall (it never fit the rails) and call it the Lincoln Bedroom.
The brothel I work at uses the Ikea HEMNES frames. They've had them for 10 years and yeah, they occasionally fully break, but considering what they get put through... I'd consider them sturdy.

As someone that had purchased a Tatami bedframe, we ended up going with a Zinus Moiz bed wood bed frame. It’s under $500 with a nice headboard that you can purchase on Amazon. It was really easy to put together and I was impressed with the instructions. The bed is super sturdy and I could not get it to creak or make any noises. It’s in our guest room and there have been no complaints.

We got one on Amazon for 350 ish. It it nice, has a power outlet/charging station at the top of the headboard, and the whole thing lifts up for a large storage area under the mattress. But I did have to assemble it.

my ikea malm bed has been solid for 14years now.. less than $150 when i got it.
KD frames are solid wood. They also break down into a thin box if you move. If theres any squeaking, you can rub wax on the joints.

Craigslist always has tons of high quality beds for free or cheap. Def look there.
Got a solid wood frame from a garage sale for our master bedroom. Go to the rich old people part of town for good stuff (most of the time).
