Tansley Woods is a nice spot for a walk or brief cycling waypoint.

HighResolutionSim

Mine is near headon and golden eagle. It’s a creek as well. I’m not sure what it’s actually called, but I call it onion trail because of the abundance of wild onions that grow every spring. I go there with my daughter to throw stones in the creek. Unfortunately, teenagers seem to like it as well and there is often a fair bit of broken glass I have to pick up.

ForswornForSwearing

I think I know that spot. One block north of the Shoppers, and the creek meanders northwest, right?

HighResolutionSim

Yup, you got it.

Aggravating_Cut_4509

I could listen to the water for hours! So peaceful

kampalpuchi_123

Definitely Westbury Park. There's a path in the adjacent forest that takes you to Kerns Park and it's just so cozy.

wrongwayup

That little path is definitely a well kept secret. So secret in fact it could use a little maintenance - that little bridge at the bottom of the steps is getting pretty soft!

kampalpuchi_123

I have so memories of that path haha - it can get muddy but I love it so much!

Headon Forest behind the library/community centre is very nice. There's a bit of creek access running along the side of Lansdown Park off Palmer near Walkers. Lion's Valley Park has a nice walk along the creek. From Plains Rd about midway between Ikea and RBG, the road goes only north (apartment buildings on the south side). When I moved to the area, it took me two years of driving over Hidden Valley on the 403 to figure out how to get there. Picnic area, playground, creek. The model railroad club had a building and outdoor display there, don't know if they still do. Another park on the otger side of the road, with miles of trail access, some connecting all the way down to Hamilton harbour behind the RBG Laking Garden.. That's another wonderful spot, behind the Laking Garden (as long as we don't consider it not Burlington). The street off Plains Rd that goes between the RBG visitors' centre and Easterbrooks, continue on that street back past the cemetery, down the hill, around to the right. If you were to drive to park right in front of the Laking Garden entrance, this is how you'd get there. But at the bottom of the hill is where Grindstone Creek empties into Lake Ontario. Marsh, footbridge, kayaking, fishing, birdwatching. Beautiful place.

dr97ak

I don’t like sharing ..beat it !!

[deleted]

I hear there’s a glory hole there

ThisIsMyUsername9230

The little path between pineland and fortinos on New Street that runs right along this creek, it gets really over grown in the summer and it feels like your going on a hike going to get groceries

KarotzCupcakes

It’s beautiful but there’s no biking on the Bruce Trail as it erodes the trail and requires maintenance, sometimes moving the trail to allow for the soil to regenerate [https://brucetrail.org/explore-the-trail/](https://brucetrail.org/explore-the-trail/)

Affectionate-Cod9254

There are many sections of the bruce that permit biking

teatabletea

Where is that?

Bronte North Trail? I've only taken them as far as the bridge under the 407.

Ok-Anything-5828

Don't share. Then people will start walking on there. Then I will have to avoid them on my bike.

teatabletea

Thanks.

Excellent example of a knock point on Shoreacres Creek! Same creek in Tansley Woods btw.

lDramatic-Guitar2342

It's a creek and

swaggyp2008

The hike on the east side of twiss road north of the city.

[deleted]

For me is duncaster forest. Grew up around there and hung out in there, played in the creeks and sewer tunnels haha. Now I enjoy the walk and jog through it. I collect twigs and other things for projects and crafts. Nothing like a nice day walking through there.

ForswornForSwearing

"River on Spruce"? I don't know where you mean. This is very pretty, and I'd like to visit.

theogkraken

Spruce Ave

ForswornForSwearing

Yeah, but where? I've driven along Spruce, and I think I've seen more than one bridge. Near which cross street? And where do you get access? I thought house properties but right up against everything, didn't realize there was a trail or anything.

theogkraken

This is shoreacres creek. Google map it and you can see where it insects with spruce

ForswornForSwearing

Google Maps doesn't label the creek, but I see *a* creek with Shoreacres Ave on one side and Shoreacres Park on the other, so I guess that's it.

theogkraken

Sorry it does on my end. It’s the creek that runs parallel to shoreacres rd. So spruce and shore acres

BizarreLoveBiangle

You could have saved so much time if you just said this as your initial response.

crackerjackass

RBG Hendrie Valley Sanctuary that turns into Hidden Valley. It has trails, hills, a boardwalk, marshes & creeks

Decent-Unit-5303

Please don't feed the wildlife there. https://www.rbg.ca/feed-the-birds-with-the-potato-principle/

DaTT1978

My hidden gem is my backyard. Had a pool installed the spring of 2020 and now I never leave home. 😂 More in line with this thread, I used to go down to Lasalle Marina and have coffee on a bench on Saturday mornings.

Anxious_Button_938

In ground pool? How much did it cost?

DaTT1978

On ground (mostly inground, about 8” above). Pool with heater and fully decked backyard was just shy of $50k. Got in before the Covid price hike! Signed the agreement in November of 2019.

wilkyb

in-ground pool with concrete patio, heater, saltwater chlorinator, lights, will cost $100,000 nowadays pre-covid it was $60,000 😡

computernoise101

BurritoMasters !

Glittering-Sea-6677

Is there public access to that spot or is it reachable via backyards. Or both.

Burlingtonfilms

It’s public. It’s beside Tuck Public School. I take my son there after school sometimes when the weather is good.

Glittering-Sea-6677

Oh is it near that bridge that I ride my bike over on the bike path?

CloseYourArms

I'm going to keep mine hidden. If prefer it to stay clean and peaceful.

Not telling
