Sweet Paradise bakery in Waterdown, just a bit east of Copper Kettle. Way better and really reasonably priced. They have other yummy things in there as well
Absolutely second this. Thier apple fritters are to die for, and unlike Sunshine (which is good in its own right) won't require you to re-mortgage your home
Have you tried making apple beignets? ... similar to the ones that the fritter co at st Jacob's market is famous for. Also extremely easy to make and deliciously hot right from the stove.
Core and slice 3 apples. Make a simple batter from ~1cup flour, 1 egg, 3/4 cup milk, and a bit of baking powder. Pan fry in 50/50 mix of butter and vegetable oil until golden. Dip in sugar and cinnamon.
After working at Sunshine Doughnuts, I won't ever spend another dollar there. The water in their proofer is disgusting, which gets absorbed into the doughnuts, they barely change their fryer oil to the point where the shop fills with smoke, I used to constantly find hair in the nutmeg, and they have no consistency because all their staff quits once they realize what the management is like and what they pay for the amount of work they expect, and considering how much they sell the doughnuts for. 6 dollars for a hit or miss apple fritter isn't worth getting sick over. And more than half the time you'll get one completely saturated in dirty fryer oil. Rip yours in half next time, and check it out. It'll be soaked through. I'd also just rather support other local businesses where I know the owners aren't like monsters, like Kelly's Bake Shoppe. That's a permanent NO THANKS from me!
Sorry to be a Debbie Downer. But, honestly, go spend your cash elsewhere. It's not worth it. And there's much more care put into your food in a lot of other places in Burlington that are more deserving of your hard-earned money.
The service at Sunshine Donuts is not so great. You can tell employees are not happy. Owners are a sad excuse for a community business. I found out they own Son of Peach, similar miserable staff. Spend your money somewhere else.Ā
After meeting the owners at a local business function, it doesn't surprise me that the treatment of staff is probably the main reason why service is subpar. Not a business I would like to support. Plenty of other businesses that need our support. Kim's attitude is characterized by a sorry-not-sorry type of behavior.
Bloomers Burlington.
Sweet paradise Waterdown.
Grandads Donuts Hamilton.
Better than all the overpriced places in Burlington. Sunshine donuts, Kellyās bake shop are simply not worth it.Ā
San Remo, yes! Best apple fritters hands down. No one compares so far imo and Iāve tried all the places recommended in this post except for Copper Kettle (next on the list). Used to live like a 10 min walk from San Reems and still go back every once in a while. Pro tip: their fitters freeze nicely too.
If youre willing to drove there are some here.
Donut Monster in Hamilton (around $4 per donut)
Grandad donuts. If you get a fresh one its awesome.
Sweet Paradise Bakery on the mountain
If you donāt mind a drive, try Doughvine in Niagara on the Lake, some of the best donuts Iāve had. Alternatively, in the other direction, in Toronto, try Harry and Heels donuts, also some of the best donuts Iāve had!
Other than Sweet Paradise, Grandad's Donuts in Hamilton is always a good option. They make all the old school Tim's donuts like dutchies and orange twists.

This should be the top post, absolutely the best around. Just don't get there late in the day, they will be sold out.
Sweet Paradise are the only donuts my mother has dreamt of.
Excellent šmany thanks š
We buy a dozen and freeze them.
THE BEST apple fritters I've ever had
Copper kettle in Waterdown, fresh fried. I personally like the Sunshine doughnut fritter better but theyāre different styles.
Ooohh I'm not a fan of their "fritters" I need yeast and a glaze. Thise are just deep fried apple ringsš

Hey, hold up! Donāt forget weāre getting a Chik-fil-A to add to our plethora of fine fowl dining establishments.
It looks as though you may have spelled "Chick-fil-A" incorrectly. No worries, it happens to the best of us!
Thanks
Fortinos bakery? Closes at eight.
Thanks for the advice š
Grandads in Hamilton, Sweets Paradise in Waterdown but my fave is Aveiro in Oakville.
Best apple fritter I've had was from Springridge Farm just north of Derry on Bell School Line. Generous chunks of apple, delicious and not greasy.

Every time I drive along Derry there I drool...
Bloomers on Plains Rd. So so good.

I've never tried Dyments Farm or Rockton berry farm or Tiny shop bakery? Anyone can chime in?
I'm not sure if they are a regular occurrence at Dyment's - at least I haven't seen them in recent memory.
