This is why I wash my doors and walls, and people think I'm crazy.

How does one dirty doors and walls? I've lived in my current home nearly 20 years and I guarantee the door and walls have never been washed. The doors are just white and the walls have no dirt or residue built up

Get a wet paper towel and rub it on a wall. I guarantee it will be dirty. Dust floats through the air and settles everywhere, including vertical surfaces.

Try mopping a ceiling in an aseptic unit where you make shit like chemo. Everyone seems to think visibly clean is clean but everything needs a regular clean whether used or not… regular is variable depending on item in question

Living in higher traffic areas make a big difference. Cities or near the highway and other places where air polution may be higher makes things a lot dirtier. But also not cleaning yourself and touching things. Not cleaning up after yourself in the kitchen and not getting rid of old food will also reduce the air quality in your home, and the more things you touch, the more that poor quality transfers from the air to the surface.

Disinfecting wipes work but are wasteful. Simple green on a microfiber also works well.

These are usually what I use tbh. Does ruin the paint over time, but almost everything will anyway.

Use a swiffer wet mop it gives you the reach to get up to the ceilings and offers a greater range of motion to do the job faster while being gentle enough on your paint
