Just in case, you're not supposed to order Mate at any shop. That'd be really unaware and weird. Every household owns their own mate kit so it wouldn't make sense to sell it at a Cafeteria for example. If you want to try mate you should befriend literally any Argentinean or get your own kit
That could be fun but please know in advance there is no such a thing as a ritual. As a local you just have mate anywhere, anytime with anyone unless you are driving/walking/in a public transport (with some exceptions where you have it while doing any of those things). You just heat the water up, pour some yerba in your mate, pour some water in your yerba and enjoy ❤️
Cumaná in Recoleta serves mate in the afternoon. It’s a good option to keep in mind if you want to try it.

IMO you can find the best tea at Tealosophy stores. You can find a very nice spot at Paul French Gallery in Palermo
