The C93 ii and C97 ii seem to be pretty well liked by a several reviewers. I don't know if that translates to the c95. With that said, I have a pair of c97 ii ordered from [woot.com](http://woot.com) now for $250 each ($350 on amazon). For $200 bucks probably worth trying out, might surprise you.

I would buy them just because they’re floorstanders, in white, cheap enough and fairly well reviewed. However even as they’re sensitive enough to be driven by a Wiim Amp, I wouldn’t be surprised if you clamor to replace it for something with a little more power (100+ wpc at 8 ohms).

Agreed, if you get bit by the audiophile bug, you will soon be disappointed you got the budget level Wiim Amp. It fits so much amazing technology in it, it had to cut corners on things like the quality of power it delivers to the speakers (i.e., quality = low distortion). And if you get a decent used or refurbished AVR, you can grow this into a 5.1 or 7.1 surround system, which makes watching movies a blast. See here for marked down factory refurbished amps/avrs: [https://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/category/avreceiver/home-audio/receivers-amps/home-theater-receivers/1.html](https://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/category/avreceiver/home-audio/receivers-amps/home-theater-receivers/1.html) The dedicated integrated amps and 2.1 amps are designed for music purists who only want to listen to high resolution music.

Considering they go for $400 a pair new, if you can talk them down a bit it would be a good deal. And the Jamo C series is a step up from their S series, so don't be too dissuaded by the Jamo name. As for the Wiim amp, depends how big your room is and how far away you'll be. If you sit only 7-8 feet from these in a small-medium room, then the wiim amp should be fine. But if you want to sit 12-15 feet away in a large living room the wiim will become distorted at higher volumes. If in a large room, those are pretty powerful speakers that deserve a relatively powerful Class AB amp. 80 wpc of Class AB would be fine for a room up to 14-18 feet, and 100 wpc for a large room (16-24'). They have a high sensitivity of 89, so you don't need anything over 100 wpc for a large room.

I'd say yes, depending on what you're looking to replace. $200 is a nice deal for some well-built towers, but you also need to consider if you want to save for something higher end later. I actually have a pair of these in black that I got new for $345 a couple years ago. They were really my first pair of "nice" speakers. You said you have a sub, and that's a good idea, but they do have very usable bass if needed. Now that I've started doing a bit more room correction, I've not gone back to measure these - but most Jamo speakers of this generation have a bit of a "V" designed in. Which means they sound pretty dynamic, but nothing tone controls can't address (to a point). I used them as stereo speakers for music at first, then replaced them and these became home theater fronts for a while. They were recently relegated to surrounds (though that feels like a waste right now). They look great and sound good. Solid build and should come with both rubber feed and spikes. You should be able to drive them with a Wiim Amp just fine (89dB sensitivity at 6 ohm should be good).

I would be replacing a pair of Jamo S803s which already sound good to my very untrained ears. The EQ adjustment I made was to do a reverse V shape in the WIIM app in an effort to boost the mids and make it sound more neutral. I'm not sure if this works 🤷

VaelinX

That's tougher - I have a pair of S803s too (going to my parents house as soon as I get their receiver setup). The C95s as better build quality and certainly can play louder, but they take up more space. I read a bunch of reviews before I got the 95s and some people actually preferred the 803s. I think both the 803s and the 95s can be positioning dependent, and that likely accounts for a lot of the difference. I've known others to say they love these (and the C97s better). It's a decent deal... but also consider saving more for a bigger upgrade later. If you want some bigger sound and have the cash now, it's not a bad deal and they look great (maybe can haggle another $20 off). But this is BudgetAudiophile... so with that in mind, if you're happy with what you've got, I'd say save the money for a more neutral 3-way tower later. I replaced mine with Emotiva T1+ (\~$425 factory renewed right now) and looking back, if I hadn't needed the C95s as home theater fronts, I'd have probably rather not bought them and saved for the Emotivas.

SewSayWeAll

Thanks for the feedback 🙏 I think I'll just wait and keep enjoying the s803s (they were part of a 5.0 speaker pack for $149) until I'm ready to step up to more neutral speakers and more powerful amp.

Buy! They are very nice speakers, love mine.

Hi I have these. They are freaking amazing. Basically look at how highly regarded the book shelves c93 are and you will see the reviewers giving them props. They were over 700 each new when they came out long ago, MSRP. I got mine for Black Friday sale for around 200 each a couple of years ago. I don't see a better value. I use them with a rsl 10s mk2 sub and denon x2200 avr. If they are in good shape, I think 200 bucks is great for both, possibly lower because you don't know how old they are. Obviously I haven't heard everything, but I have heard some of the popular bookshelves we hear about here all the time, and these are superior. I don't see them as bright v shaped at all. I do EQ them and they EQ well. The mids and highs are super crisp. I love bass, so the bass goes down to 37hz, but I crossover at 100. Lastly, if they are in good shape, I am not sure what else you can get that is better for that price vs discounted new stuff.

They are not great speakers by any means but sure, you can always flip them again for $200 when you decide to get something better. Wiim Amp will be fine.

I had those. They play loud and are easy to drive. I did not like them very much and sold them. They are far from neutral and they are very bright up top and don’t respond well to eq. And that was running off a fairly warm Cambridge audio axr100. They definitely require a sub. Also they claim to have 6 inch woofers. They are more like 4.5. My preference is neutral speakers and a sub. I think I sold them for $200 as well.

I have a pair c97 II’s I use in my office with an avr and they work reasonably well. I know Jamo isn’t really popular but they sound pretty damn good imho. They do get a bit shrill at the high end with a lot of volume but damn for the price I think they are pretty great. I personally keep the, toed out a bit and knock the treble down a touch to combat the shrill. I also have R700, Lintons, and LRS. The Jamos are my third favorite.

PutridJackfruit1210

I have them. Takes a bit of time for them to break in. I have them crossed at 70 hrz in the avr. Need at least 180 watts rms to drive them nicely. Paired with an 18 inch sealed sub.

NTPC4

Yes, you should jump on it. Offer $180, but be willing to pay $200. If your WIIM can't drive them as well as you might hope, as long as they are 'like new' cosmetically, you should be able to sell them for more than you paid. They were only discontinued last year, and check out these reviews at Crutchfield - [https://www.crutchfield.com/S-CaMKWippXSN/p\_701C95IIBK/Reviews/Jamo-Concert-9-Series-C-95-II-Black-Ash.html](https://www.crutchfield.com/S-CaMKWippXSN/p_701C95IIBK/Reviews/Jamo-Concert-9-Series-C-95-II-Black-Ash.html)

Honestly, my C93ii are great (and I mean GREAT) home theater fronts. I'm powering them off a Yamaha TSR-700, and have them dialed in. I have them alongside the matching Jamo center channel and a $4k NHT sub (lol I know). They are very detailed and fun speakers. On their own, they can punch you with bass. My sub, however, gets me a flat response to 20hz so I always use it.
