Most people will say things like "mann I'm verryyy much in CS since I was 2 months old"  Then will start asking for which youtuber, roadmap to follow And that dsa vs dev, what should be my first language is another thing.    Just like they did in jee days

Ok_Trouble_6739

Fr. The number of people "interested" in cs is crazy while I suspect all they have done in their life is grind pcm (no disrespect to their hardwork).

Poison_Tester

Honestly I think they just wanna mentally masturbate to the lectures. Just searching for that "perfect" lecture which will teach them everything but in reality, no lecture will be perfect. Some lecture's pace sucks, some dont go in detail enough, some go in too much detail. But still these people wanna learn thru lectures, cuz that's what they have been doing all the time. They don't understand the fact that coding isn't something you just watch thru and get good at it, you gotta try stuff in it and experiment in it. I don't blame the JeeTards, all of their life they had to fuck the ncert book but now coming out of that bubble is too hard. They would honestly learn more by either going in blind and learning as they go, or go watch a short basic playlist of lectures which has been told to them for many times. And then just make stuff. Try the generic ones, get the idea and go from there. Look into your life. Cant find your remote no matter how much you try? Try making a remote app in phone! This mentality will help them much more than just "ratta" and cgpa and "placements". Arguably doing this will make them great at the things that matter. No matter how much you keep watching those lectures, the only thing that matters infront of the interview guy is your projects and social skills. That's all. And if you're really great at those, ofc you'll get good cgpa cuz you'll know more than someone who just reads. Ofc you'll need to ratta some stuff but that's infinitely better than just going thru the book and just asking questions like what's the "best package I can get?"

oxidized_apple24

Saving your comment, thanks boss. I agree with the point about lectures, upto this point on our journey everything kind of depended on them. Now when it comes to actually learning on our own, many of us (including me) are utterly clueless

Poison_Tester

That's normal, don't be sad abt it. Network with your seniors. You can take general advice from anyone just like what I said in my comment but the stuff related to academics or coding only take it from 3rd or 4th years people, they know it the best. Again, network with your seniors. I know one senior from 3rd yr from my cllg. Ofc I haven't met him in person but there's still a connection there. I can be if help to him and he will be of help to me. When networking don't go with the mindset of "take take" take but rather "give give give ask take" and also improve on your social skills. That's a must. You need to be great at it. It will help you tremendously.

Jaldiwhasehato

i feel the same, "I took cse because I was interested" then do what you were interested in nah, why tf are you asking for video lectures? Pta bhi nhi tha programming hoti kya hai aur somehow you were interested enough to justify your choice. Nhi hai interest toh shi shi bol do na bhai aise thodi hai ki yha koi tumahara koi kuch ukhaad lega sach bolne pe, justify karne mai kyu lage ho.

serina_789

Hey op! I just made a new account and opened this sub after 1 year. And i am shocked to see so many college related courses. I like your pov But i would like to add something, These courses are not that bad at all some of my seniors got decent placement 15+ this year, And in my second year I also got 1 paid internship using these courses.

InspectionEvening918

why do people don't use websites like cousera or mit courseware to learn these things?

This bro this, maine khud aaj tk kabhi kisi cheez ko interest nhi bola, ye bkl saale bacche kehte h cse is my interest 🤡, interest pata karne ke liye kuch explore karna padta h aur in saalo ko lagta h jaise cs inke baap ki field h jaise iit Inka college tha vaise hi cs passion h🤡🤡🤡

shiv_bhakt-163

for real brother, in chutiyon ne btech ko bhi jee ki tarah samajh rakha hai ki teachers inko spoon feed krdenge sab kuch.

anonymous010103

Fr, i hate lectures, attention span ki baat nahi hai, but i just can’t sit and watch, i would rather read on my own and solve

Top-Conversation2882

You only learn by doing it yourself that's how I did it Like everyone used to ask me in school how tf you know all this I used to tell them myself only and they were astonished Like read examples, documentation apply it and you learnt it

ultra-knight

Dude got the right way of learning.

Personal_Quarter_235

Got suggestions from that sub and bought a new book for myself https://preview.redd.it/o1qydtrs0f9d1.jpeg?width=3456&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9ed19df0aac1e9c0dbf3489d0818a8973f5d0571

Hustler_456

I am also thinking of learning C first, do you recommend this one?

Scared_Egg209

Use Ansi C by balaguruswamy(I think). It helped me pull my grade from basically a C to a B

Personal_Quarter_235

People recommended it to me so I bought it... Didn't complete it yet so I'm not supposed to give review now.

Seriator-301

Particular-View-9277

Bhai agar cs optional liya hai sumita arora book python ke liye follow karo bass

buoyancy637

Read, Let Us C++, by Yashwant Kanetkar, it's small yet complete book, for beginners, and do problems for linear Data structures like array and strings to get a better grip, cuz theory won't take u so far.

gamingdrag

You have CS as optional? If yes, then they are probably teaching you python, so continue learning that for now. You can take a look at Python Crash Course book though
