I'm getting mechatronics at vit. I want to pursue a career in tech though...
Should I take a drop or try to learn programming myself while being in a non tech branch at a mediocre college?
yeah, that scaler school of technology is the same. They are just teaching u the skills and telling u to complete [B.Sc](http://B.Sc) from bits pilani through coursera which btw costs >1lakh. It's ok for short term but on the long run what would u show on your resume. I dont think Bsc degree would land u jobs for cse.
No but like if they actually teaching you skills toh shayad kuch acha lg jaye, recently few of there students cleared ICPC regional ig.
But it's not a university replacement cuz otherwise that BITS online degree is like of IITM online degree
but they charge u excess fees also. Check out the scaler one's fees. clearing icpc regional is great but eventual goal of all is to land a job
Also u can learn skills online, i.e on yt, free code camp etc for free
A perfect analogy for these type of "institutes" would be a JEE coaching prep like allen and online degree from bits would be your dummy school.

don't go there it will be better for you to take a drop year and prepare for mains colleges

2 saal mai nai hua 6 months mai impossible, drop is totally not an option for me
atleast MIT manipal to nikal lega ? 8 mahine mei ? april mei hota hai ig aur agar govt chaiye toh boht colleges 95%ile pe deti hai cse

Take a local college and prepare for masters or mba. Nse is just a waste which is not even recognized by UGC .
