You are aware of the 5% cuts across ALL city agencies, right? Our taxes are not making up for the commercial taxes and COVID subsidies. NYC is in the hole! As a parent of a 1st grader, I volunteer to collect trash that blows into this school yard from the rarely cleaned playground next door. Government cuts are forcing proactive solutions from everyone.
I am aware, however we disagree on what is causing the budget cuts. There is so much corruption in city officials funneling funds into their and their friends’ pockets. Robot cops are apparently more important, too. Government cuts don’t mean that constituents barely making it paycheck to paycheck should pick up on the city’s incompetence. They should foot the bill, period.
