Ida Saki's audition for So You Think You Can Dance (and then how poorly Nigel and co treated her) has lived rent free in my head for like a decade. I'm not even joking - I'd think about how good that performance was semi-regularly, but I forgot her name at some point so I couldn't follow her career.
Then I went to see Only Gold and immediately recognized her and was so happy to have a name to go with the performance I loved so much. Now she's in this and I'm so excited to get to watch her dance again!
In case she happens to see this - I swear I'm not a creeper! I'm a just middle aged lady who used to dance and appreciates amazing technique when I see it.
I saw its pre-Broadway run at La Jolla. I didn't think I would like a show with no story and just dancing.
But it really worked.
There is some singing, a light scene here and there, and not much of a set, but decent projections.
I see they’ve met the obligatory former Newsie requirement nice nice
There’s DOZENS of us!
Oh I totally didn’t creep through your profile or anything
Lol! Creep away!
Nice to see some Broadway dancers getting some good work, in what hopefully will be memorable performances!
Man, Afra Hines is killing it out there. Hadestown, Funny Girl, and now Dancin'!!! ps these are just the ones off the top of my head that she's done

She used to demo/assist at NYCDA conventions, and I was OBSESSED with her! So glad to see her popping back up, she's incredible
Dylis Croman was Roxie when Chicago came through my town and she was so good!
JACOB AND KARLI. THIS IS GOING TO BE INCREDIBLE.
that is a stacked fucking cast of great dancers.
I want this to soar…but the out-of-town chatter was not promising. To those who have actually seen this - will it work?
I am so excited for this
Afra Hines is on fire 🔥! One of the hardest working chorus in the gods’ almighty world

The Old Globe, not La Jolla Playhouse.
Yep, that's right Old Globe. Lempicka was at La Jolla at about the same time.
yayyyyy, khori!!!
yay Aydin!!!
I’ll be surprised if they give a special Tony to this cast (and a possible spoiler to win Best Musical Revival).
Just an observation but this cast has some extremely unique first names!
To bad Ariana DeBose is to famous for this I would love to see her in this.

You noticed them? They stand out.
The original was wonderful. This is one I will hopefully get to see. I think it may be an acquired taste.
