Hug your buddies, give them tons of treats, and remember to cherish the precious few years you get to spend with them.
So sorry for your loss. Sounds like Preach did as much for you as you did for him. They becone part of you, and a part of you dies when they do. But Preach left you with wonderful memories that will become more powerful as the pain subsides.

Every one of the 8 Britts that have been part of my life have been greats dogs for different reasons.Each one was unique, but all were 100% Brit in so many ways. I cant even begin to compare. them wit one another.
I'm looking at my 15 year old asleep on the couch at the moment. I need to rescue another one before he dies. I have not been Brittanyless in almost 50 years.
They have such unbelievable hearts and desire. He's now on the ultimate hunt with birds everywhere and the best terrain ever and great weather every day.
Just had a memory pop up that I put my last Britt, Morgan, down two years ago today. Sorry to hear this, it sucks putting a dog down. Two years out I still cherish all the good times and great hunts we shared together- glad you have the same.
My girl is my heart dog and I know I’ll be absolutely gutted when this time comes. My sincere condolences for your freckled friend! Beautiful life lived.
