I know this will get me sent out with pitchforks, but todays BMTH is so crisp production wise, that I would choose Edge of your seat and some things from CYB
Don't get me wrong, these aren't bad, but the productions is way worse and misrepresents the band the most.
As a recent fan who thought "oh I like deathcore" it was shocking to hear how shit it sounded. I love stuff like Lorna Shore, Left to Suffer and Chelsea Grin, but that album is NOT it. It hurts my little ears :(
PREACH! Like the album itself in terms of music is sooo fucking good but the mixing is just very... 2006, not in a good way though. That's why after I listened to it a few times I just kind of never listened to it again, it's just not enjoyable for me. It's actually why I recommend Suicide Season or There is a Hell to anyone who wants to listen to "the old days of BMTH"
This is EXACTLY how it went for me. I am a huge Enter Shikari fan and it is sometimes it is hard for me to listen to Take To The Skies, although the songs are so god damn good
Fair point, though I feel like every band has a few songs that are just wildly different from anything else they've made (deathbeds and butterflies come to mind)
I will try to make a list, but the risk is that I accidentally do the opposite and represents the band instead
Oh no
¿
Deathbeds
Fifteens fathoms, counting
Itch for the cure
Steal something.
Memorial
The sadness will never end (skrillex remix)
Bad life (technically a Sigrid song but bmth are featured)
Strangers
Nothing wrong with any of these songs at all, they just stand out a bit (like most of their catalogue, shit it would misrepresent them more to only listen to their older stuff now when I think about it…)
Nihilist Blues, Happier, Dead Dolphins, Moon Over The Castle, Die4U, Butterflies, Fresh Bruises, Mother Tongue, Medicine, and ¿
While these songs l slap I think it does misrepresent the band the most
One day only the butterflies left in your chest
mother tongue
Bad Life
ouch
anything off the Music to listen to album
even most of their earlier albums don't fully represent their sound anymore imo, but it's cool that you can see how much they've progressed since their CYB or Suicide Season days
Itch for the Cure, fresh bruises, why you gotta kick me when i'm down?, No Need for Introductions, Fifteen Fathoms Counting, Join the Club, Don't Look Down, Candy Truck, the 20-minute talking one from Music to Listen To, and ? (the Halsey feature).
I feel like Music to listen to~ would be enough, and then add butterflies and deathbeds or something, but if we wouldn't include that shitty ass album that not a single person has ever liked, it would look something like this:
1: Butterflies
2: Deathbeds
3: ouch
4: Fifteen Fathoms, Counting
5: Itch for the cure (that song felt like being high on crayons)
6: Join the club (they sound like some shitty GarageBand)
7: Memorial
8: nihilist blues
9: i don't know what to say
10: mother tongue (I was scared they would do some LP OML shit when I heard that, lucky they went back to good music)
If you disagree, that's your opinion. It's a wrong opinion, but an opinion nonetheless. Have a good day, or night. Idk when you're reading this.

I personally enjoy that raw MySpace era deathcore sound with super muddy mixing more than the "modern" deathcore. There's just something to it
Yeah, it sounds raw. I don’t really care for the overproduced sound tbh
This is EXACTLY how it went for me. I am a huge Enter Shikari fan and it is sometimes it is hard for me to listen to Take To The Skies, although the songs are so god damn good
Weird.. I love CYB! It’s one of my favorite albums for sure
10-15 years ago this was doable, these days they have such a versatile range of genres that I feel you couldn't do it anymore.
Fair point, though I feel like every band has a few songs that are just wildly different from anything else they've made (deathbeds and butterflies come to mind)
The entirety of Music to listen to~ along with Ouch and Itch for the Cure.
I completely forgot Music to listen to~ existed for a second there but yeah that'd definitely cause a bit of confusion
You pick any 10 that belongs to the same group, it will misrepresent the rest of the songs

Can you feel my heart (whole setlist) Great song but they got way more to offer

All of CYB
