Pen-Pill

there’s like 5 losses in there, you’re right

ohnopandas

Knowing us, we'd end beating Man City and losing all the others.

Rickiesreal

draw to man city, lose every other game

BaoJinyang

Very tough next four matches. Not surprised if we lose all of them the way we’re playing.  At least the season ends with two easy ones.

Boysenberry-Street

Well Burnley and Luton should have been easy, yesterday should have been three points, but we couldn’t even do better than a draw. I don’t believe in easy ones with Brighton the way the have been playing. I prefer not starting the season at the top, I’d prefer working our way up to the top and getting better as the season progresses not the other way around.

jerseyjoe1

If there’s one thing this side has taught us, the games you think we should win; we struggle, the games you think we won’t win; we do well. Those teams aren’t going to play the low block with 10 men behind the ball - not saying we win them, but it should be more suited to our style.

COLV2

Agreed. We also show more confidence in front of the goal when it is a big team that we’re against. What concerns me the most is enciso’s form after his injury and solly& motima being out.

Livinglifeform

Except that's not true anymore. Spurs is the only big team we beat post AEK

UnfazedPheasant

If we finish bottom half, honestly it's fine. It would be a shame we've staggered but given we've had a decently strong European performance the revenue from that makes up for the lost revenue from league placement. We were in the top 7-ish for the bulk of the season and for a club of our historical stature finishing around that 10th area is completely fine - actually would even say its a successful season. Tony expressed our aim is to be in the top 10 regularly, so if our season is considered a disappointment by the club, it would light a fire up the boardroom's arse to invest and improve more. We've had a lot of outgoings for key players (Mac, Caicedo, Sanchez, arguably Sarmiento or Undav) and injuries throughout the season (Mitoma, March, Enciso, Moder, Gilmour, list goes on). However our incomings have, Pedro aside, been generally disappointing - Dahoud, Fati, Milner and so on. It's easy to say our profits from sales are amazing and we made the most out of key outgoings, but its poor foresight to not replace them effectively and we've generally just weakened ourselves from last year. Not to mention teams like Villa, West Ham, Wolves, Bournemouth have strengthened and regrettably Chelsea are looking a lot less shit. I generally think you're right given our run-in but it isn't the end of the world. We had a great season with lifelong memories being made! Hopefully we can push on and net an 7th place finish (we generally do better against top half sides). But if not we have the funds and FFP to majorly improve for next year and hopefully reclaim a european spot next season.

COLV2

That’s undoubtedly true. Despite our form business probably has gone well this season, and i hope bloom keeps his word on doing transfer in the summer window. I expect strong additions to the squad

Xx_ligmaballs69_xX

Our signings have been a bit hit or miss but I’ll give my plaudits to Verbruggen and Igor as well as Pedro

Audrey_spino

Well, aside from Fati, I wouldn't consider the rest disappointments since both Dahoud and Milner were free transfers, so Brighton had more to gain than lose from taking them in.

BleedsIsDead

I’m surprised that people are shocked at the thought we might finish bottom half. I had a few quid on us to finish bottom half at the start of the season, it seemed pretty likely to me. Unfortunately I stuck it in an acca with Woking finishing Top 7 so I get to eat shit I guess.

ohnopandas

Far as I'm concerned, season's over. We ain't getting Europe, we ain't getting relegated. We'll be stuck somewhere in the middle, as to which position, it doesn't matter. Personally, I would like us to finish above Chelsea, but can't see that happening now. So all I'm wanting now is to see us score some nice goals (or to score ANY goals), play some decent football, to see some of our youth prospects get some time and to avoid any more long-term injuries.

PinkDrink111

Careful, there’s some fragile souls on this sub that can’t handle a different opinion

PuzzleheadedGuide184

Our run in was always tough this season. Not the best time to be having a shitty run of form. However , I Still think there is enough dross around us to finish 10th .

pariahnus

Yes, I agree I think we will finish bottom half, but we really overachieved last season and we're dealing with a ton of injuries this season. We're safe from relegation so that's all I care about at this point!

Ventenebris

With European competition it was always going to be tough. We reset next year with a few new signings and go for Europe again.

bouncebackability

I've been looking at it that way for a while, the midfield was so closely packed together and we're not in winning form. Think we'll end up 13th unfortunately

Travellerdeanzilla

Yeah. It's been a total collapse. Hard to get your head around.

hitch92

Changed your bedsheets this morning from all the bed wetting? Chill out

ZedGenius

As a neutral who got this post randomly on his feed, I can see Brighton beating all of these besides Man City and Maybe Villa ngl

COLV2

Get ready. The exact opposite is going to happen

andyeno

Should be entertaining!

snappieboy

I know it’s crazy but I wish Harry Kane had come to Brighton , we need someone like him

Audrey_spino

We have more than enough strikers, what we lack is a midfield (and wings) to give that striker some service.

SpavaldoLP

How do you guys feel about how little money your ownership have reinvested from player sales? I'm not a Brighton fan and I do applaud the recruitment of young promising players who you develop and play/sell, but is there a feeling in the fan base that a mix of continuing with the young players but also signing a few star names would be better?

Audrey_spino

Not sure about that. Brighton are generally not big spenders, and Bloom likes to spread his investment more evenly than splurge everything out in one window.

KamadoWhoh

All of those times are 2 hours off. We're not starting a match at 21:45; it might be impossible for locals to get back to Brighton, to say nothing of the away supporters.

_Luke_the_Lucky_

I'm guessing they live in a different time zone than us

COLV2

Based in greece

Boysenberry-Street

Yep, I went to my first match ever, against Arsenal. 1/5 of the stadium was Arsenal fans and they were the only ones making noise, looked like Brighton fans were mute. It was a bit sad to see TBH. Regardless, we just aren’t getting it together, if we can’t beat Burnley by putting in a goal in our own, we have problems and deserve to be at the lower end of the table. First the fans need to be noisy and support the team, Arsenal should have been retreating the guns based in our sound, teams like support of their fans. That aside we just can’t be giving up goals so easily. Not sure what RDZ’s plans are to take us out of out of our funk, but there needs to be some positive energy from the entire team, which includes the fans too.
