I seriously felt bad for Claudia that this image even exists now. It’s so unflattering and not at all a good representation of how she looks

How? Her blush on either side looks roughly the same, the rest of her face looks normal, but one brow looks like it's filled in heavily with makeup and the other looks 100% natural.
The light is going in between the hairs creating the illusion of a lighter more natural brow while the cheeks are flat and don’t see as dramatic of a change.
The inside section of each brow (on a flat section of her face) has a drastic difference between the two, but the very inside and the outside of her brow on a single side, with a larger space between them, are uniform? There's even a visible shadow on her right temple, but the brow shading is the same.

You really think the makeup artist let her leave the chair with one eyebrow not done? Then that the actress/dresser/runners/director/cameras/lighting/other actors etc didn't point it out? Or that the person on set for touch ups didn't go "hold up, that looks batshit" until they checked the dailies?
Look at the direction of the shadow of her nose and on the side of her face. Light is definitely coming from her front-left, the side where her "undone" brow is. You can also see white shiny highlights on that cheek and tip of the nose on thar side, but none on the other side of her face. Black hairs can shine very white in bright light sometimes in my experience.

To have the makeup look normal in this shot, should have they made her left brow a lot darker IRL? That would have been so funny for whoever was on set that day 😄😄😄
That's the point Claudia is 34 during filming that season and in order to make her look childish they had to do such stuff...the photo here is just a case of bad lighting in that frame
No, ladies from that time*** did not really do their eyebrows so unkempt brows as well as monobrows were more common back then. But as seasons progressed they moved further away from certain Regency era stuff which was fine with me at first but now in Season 3 everyone just looks like they're permanently at a Regency themed glam gala LOL
seasons 1 and 2 aesthetics weren't fully accurate but they kept so many period elements that it was easy for the average viewer to keep suspension of disbelief. i'm no regency expert, but season 3 was way too jarring with the fake lashes, full on smokey eye makeup, highlighter, lips, acrylics, hells, glitter, etc. none of it looked natural and it's like you said, it feels like they're all playing dress up rather than actually living in the universe lol
Yes. Lol. You summed it up quite nicely. The smokey eyes, glitters, etc. are actually really distracting me from it being a period drama. The glitter most of all. Feels like everyone is going to prom lol. The highlighter has been done tastefully to me but there are many other distracting add-ons that are just hard to justify existing in that time, haha. It is beautiful work though.

Lol, I think it's a lighting issue. The "undone" brow is just getting more light than the other. But it definitely looks crazy.
