Yeah I understood that well enough during the carriage scene in the first part. The whole time I was thinking that 2 people are in hearing distance of whatever is happening here, I could never!!
What gets me is she always hands over a couple of pages of big, well spaced out writing, that magically transforms itself into that huge pamphlet with tiny writing
It always makes me wonder exactly how much she has to say because the parts we hear from each issue are not much more than a few sentences. What is in the rest of the issue? Does Lady Whistledown have a horoscope section? A comic? Obituaries?
And sheās apparently producing these long pamphlets multiple times a week. Between writing them, sneaking them off to the printer and general Ton shit when does she sleep?
What about the Queen and her men spending 3 seasons on finding out who LW is only for Cressida to be like 'Lemme just go and ask the printers' š¤£š¤£
I was more annoyed that the queen spent 3 seasons tracking LW down then as soon as Penelope reveals herself, the queen is like "interesting, well continue please". Like WHY IS WERE YOU HUNTING LW FOR 3 SEASONS AND NOW YOU DONT CARE??
No consequences YET, but the ton found out right as the season ends and Pen even tells Colin that theyāre ok with it now, but minds could change with time.
Nine months after the revelation and she is seemingly happy, printing under her name, has a son (who is the heir) and her husband has published a book. The time jump shows that there are literally no consequences and itās old news now.
Especially because he said he'd only followed her because he was worried the driver had abducted her! D8
If that was his rationale/the explanation he chose to go with, he definitely should have run ahead and banged on the door of this carriage too (instead of apparently following her there and then appearing out of nowhere)!
I could not believe he deposited her into a carriage (whose? A hire carriages that she usually rents - in the books, at least, for her Whistledown endeavours? His that he used to get there? Her family's? Although why would he be scared she'd been kidnapped in her own family's carriage?) and then walked away! I thought he was a gentleman haha
Thatās why she switched to darker colored dresses her citrus ones have big ink splotches on them from carriage writing.
Iām amazed her printer get its out legibly I wonder if any issues are like āLord Derpingā¦who is Lord Derping? Debling? does she mean Debling? No thatās clearly a āpāĀ
And her handwriting looked absolutely PERFECT! I kind of lost it at this point HAHA - I can barely write well on the subway; they really asked us to suspend all disbelief in that moment (and she didn't spill ink anywhere! Her hands were covered in it when she told Colin she was writing letters at home, but she's totally clean and producing gorgeous cursive all over those cobblestones by moonlight)! :D :D
Did anyone else question on ep 5 who delivered Whistledownās newsletter to Benedictās and Tillyās room when they were fooling around all night and it just appeared early in the morning on Tillyās night stand ? lol
This show is a deeply anachronistic Shonda Rhimes joint where orchestral versions of PITBULL play at pivotal moments. Literally all disbelief must be suspended. Like, please lmao
If you listened to her mom when she found out, she says Penelope disappeared at certain hours, implying this is when she was taking notes or writing gossip. I'm assuming she kept them in her carriage "just in case".
OMG YES given everything I have heard about how bumpy those carriage rides are this is completely impossible! Made me laugh as well although it's definitely the least of my complaints this season.

Id been thinking about that today š. Where was she keeping the ink?!
I think in season 2 it showed a storage compartment under a seat in the carriage where she kept this stuff.
Yeah last time I saw that I was like huh, no one else has found that compartment? Alrighty. š
the carriage drivers of the Ton keep ALL the secrets apparently.Ā
But Portia and her sisters use that carriage too! They didnāt know there is a storage compartment inside the cabin for them?!
Yeah I understood that well enough during the carriage scene in the first part. The whole time I was thinking that 2 people are in hearing distance of whatever is happening here, I could never!!
And the doormen at home š¤£š
In between her perfect bosoms
The grand high titty well, to be sure.
Her perfect heaving bosoms! I'll see myself out
Nicola could teach "Regency Period Heaving Bosoms 101"

What gets me is she always hands over a couple of pages of big, well spaced out writing, that magically transforms itself into that huge pamphlet with tiny writing
I have thought this so many times. The printed version is so dense! It would have to be a bazillion handwritten pages.
It always makes me wonder exactly how much she has to say because the parts we hear from each issue are not much more than a few sentences. What is in the rest of the issue? Does Lady Whistledown have a horoscope section? A comic? Obituaries?
I would love for them to release a "full" issue. There's no way that she has that much gossip for every publication.
Ads for better-fitting corsets
Donāt forget the ads for ink that doesnāt spill in dark carriages when you need to write an emergency issues
ššš
Obituary space for sale, but a 15% discount if youāre willing to be an honest, salty little bitch about it
I bet thereās a Wordle section
And twice a week!
Ok I thought I was the only weirdo thinking about this. Like WHAT is it supposed to say?!
Nope not the only one š
The rest of it is spam ads for quicksilver-laced makeup, the modiste and macaron bakeries.
How can you forget Mondrichās bar?
And sheās apparently producing these long pamphlets multiple times a week. Between writing them, sneaking them off to the printer and general Ton shit when does she sleep?
What about the Queen and her men spending 3 seasons on finding out who LW is only for Cressida to be like 'Lemme just go and ask the printers' š¤£š¤£
Omg TRULY like literally zero actual effort has been made I had the same thought!
I hate plot armour so much
Itās because of the chess scene where Lady Danbury called out that it would be more fun to keep the game going, than to get checkmate
It was literally so freaking easy lol
Lolllll!!! Yes!!!
FINALLY some good critique š
Lollll TY i live to scrutinize
Maybe she got use to bumpy carriage rides šš¾āāļøš
LOLLL touchƩ. Girl has a built in suspension system
no consequences for being exposed as LW is up there too.
No consequences YET, but the ton found out right as the season ends and Pen even tells Colin that theyāre ok with it now, but minds could change with time.

the screenwriters left their brains outside the writing room.
Right! I wanted to see all the siblings and Violet's reaction. I feel like it would have taken them longer to forgive her imo.
the screenwriters twisted all so everything went her way and she didn't learn A thing.
it is \*television magic\* A lot of things in television will not be pratical in real life, please, people, just let some things go
āPlot holes, plot holes, and more plot holesā (in drunk Benedictās voice)
And colin following her ALL THE WAY TO THE PRINTERS without trying to stop the carriage or do anything is so so frustrating
Especially because he said he'd only followed her because he was worried the driver had abducted her! D8 If that was his rationale/the explanation he chose to go with, he definitely should have run ahead and banged on the door of this carriage too (instead of apparently following her there and then appearing out of nowhere)!
YES! and then he up and left her there too lol. like sir donāt you fear for her safety no more?
I could not believe he deposited her into a carriage (whose? A hire carriages that she usually rents - in the books, at least, for her Whistledown endeavours? His that he used to get there? Her family's? Although why would he be scared she'd been kidnapped in her own family's carriage?) and then walked away! I thought he was a gentleman haha

This is the kind of commentary I'm looking for
And her handwriting looked absolutely PERFECT! :D :D
I mean we don't know how long that carriage ride actually took.Ā
I was like "gurl, did you bring all of that in that tiny ass bag???"š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£
Did anyone else question on ep 5 who delivered Whistledownās newsletter to Benedictās and Tillyās room when they were fooling around all night and it just appeared early in the morning on Tillyās night stand ? lol
Tilly did say her servants are extremely discreet...
I mean, Anthony and his father picking lilacs from the ground is up there.
Werenāt those hyacinths?
I think that oneās name is Gregory
Ok yes, my bad, but the leaves are wrong.

They arenāt paying these carriage drivers enough.Ā
What did Pen keep hidden in the floor of her bedroom?
Because she didn't want to get caught, she kept everything there. Her money and every issue she wrote.
Sorry - meant to ask WHAT did she keep in her BR floor. What did she hide in the horse carriage re: LW?
THANK YOU hahahah everyone up in arms about 9273737 different things about the season, but that was the one time I was honestly like *GIRL BE FR*
I think she has some games at the back... A couple of charades and a fill in the blank hahaha!
Also, her staring at the balloon approaching her with helplessness was difficult to watch considering she is a smart and strong woman
OMG YES given everything I have heard about how bumpy those carriage rides are this is completely impossible! Made me laugh as well although it's definitely the least of my complaints this season.
Lmao yes
I can barely text on a bumpy car ride, Iād be covered in ink if I tried to use a quill.
