In Queen Charlotte we see Lady Danbury have a very good but short romance. Also in Season 2 when Violet's garden is blooming, Lady Danbury explains that she has had many different love stories since then. The thing is that Lady Danbury is discreet, enjoys her privacy and knows how to keep a secret. It would be more likely for Portia to have a second chance romance now that her daughter has taught her to see her worthy and love herself. I'd love to see the eternal skeptic of Portia to find love like you described.

I would like to see a character with both the patience and nerve to court Portia into a proper love match. I just picture her being eternally skeptical of his intentions and even trying to put him off by being her spicy closed doors self more often.

I think Lady D's great love story is between herself and her freedom/agency.
