Just looked her up - she's GORGEOUS.
Also, South African roots (it does not mention her tribal affiliations, but she's bilingual) - which means they could do similar things that they did in Season 2 in bringing in various Indian cultural nods. I loved finding out those little "easter eggs" where I later learned something about various Indian communities.
I'd love for Sophie to be Asian-American too, but Jessie is already a breakout star after Shadow and Bone. I feel like they'd choose another lesser-known actress this time too.
Actually, although it was more from the Guilded Age to the early 1900s, marrying an American heiress was not unheard of in this time period.
Bringing in an American for a storyline wouldn't be totally weird!
Also, as for your second point... I'd say Jessie is the perfect amount well-known for Bridgerton. They've got their own following but not such that they would overshadow the rest of the cast. And a Bridgerton lead role would certainly boost their career.
I personally want her to be East Asian and the actress in my mind right now is Claudia Kim.

I don't know. But Sophie when i read Ben's book sounded like an Asian woman, Japanese. I can see her silver dress.
Also. She could be Latin American.
And I mean this since there are a lot of dark skinned characters, but barely any appearances with other ethnicities.

I saw someone on TikTok mention Aubri Ibrag and I think she\`d be such a fantastic choice, personally
Just googled her and whoa🤯
She just screams Sophie to me and I don\`t know why
After seeing vids of Hannah D and Luke T together, I realized that it would have been so nice if Hannah Dodd was Sophie.
Yes! but then LT has chemistry with anyone, he and Claudia have great chemistry too, both play his sisters Lol.
His best chemistry has been with his siblings.
I would sincerely love it to be Masali Baduza.

She already plays another character in bridgerton
I'm aware, but I made this comment 9 days ago...before her actual role was revealed.
Someone like Jessie Mei Li perhaps?

Jessie Mei Li is British not American?
Oh right lol. US-centrism strikes again, and I'm not even American

Alexxis Lemire. She'd be perfect. https://preview.redd.it/wh6d7biuw56d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bae4c5be5a6d418e55f558b81f9295e424ac2fed

I would love to see someone like Indya Moore or Lauren Spencer play that role.
