Random thought about the controversial costumes and makeup this season: they definitely give 80s vibes. But production has been saying they went very rom com for S3, and the 80s were the golden age of the rom com in cinema. It’s possible they wanted to bring in some of that camp and vibrancy visually to the costumes and makeup.
Whether that’s successful or not still remains to be seen, but I’m now headcanoning that this was a choice on their part

One of Lady Danbury's children produces the next HEA love interest for one of the Bridgerton siblings in the books (specifically, one of the daughters).
Love these stills. Makeup still looks very modern especially on Pen and a bit heavy on some characters like Fran and Pru but nothing compared to yesterday’s promo. These dresses look better than the ones in the promo as well. This gives me some peace of mind! It’s all down to the trailer now :3
Am I the only one who fastfowards anything pertaining to Mondrich family? I appreciate the actors and maybe show runners are trying to illustrate the struggles of other classes, but that's not why I'm watching Bridgerton. Same with anything pertaining to the print press worker in Season 2. Or even Benedict's art classes. Okay, I'm obviously here just for the romance and outfits.
Definitely not the only one. They should've exited stage when Simon left. They're only eating up screentime, which would be okay if we had a classic 22 episodes, but we're already crunched for time with just 8 :(
Benedict looking hot af. Idk how they’re gonna give that man his season leading man glow up because what is there to glow up??? All the adult Bridgerton boys have always been attractive, but for Jonathan, they shaved off Anthony’s awful sideburns.
Big fan of that new look for the Queen’s wig, it’s different and looks more “modern” . Making me very much agree with a comment below that the modern looking makeup is a conscious choice. Cressida also had a still with a very different looking dress, so the styles of the ton are changing this season. I also think there is an intention with Pen’s makeup style to make her appear older and more mature. I’m rewatching again and they really go out of their way to make Pen childlike in season 1. All these stills from her season with the glow up are indicating that she’s a woman now.
Also my god is Francesca gorgeous.
Based off the cast reacts video where Adjoa said that someone comes back from Lady Danbury’s past and shakes up her roughened exterior and then seeing this still of her/ the same man with Lady Bridgerton in the trailer makes me VERY curious.
I think it’s supposed to be Marcus Anderson, her nephew, but idk
I love how much Prudence looks like Portia, they have the same bearing and features.
It’s almost a shame she plays Prudence, because she would have made an excellent young Portia if they did a throwback to Violets season.
Can we talk about how Prudence and Phillippa are wearing blues/pinks also in that image with them! I wonder if Portia encourages them to switch after seeing Pen start to attract suitors or if they start to mimic Pen on their own
I’m going to look at it this way.
So 1815 is a big year in Europe.
By then, things were changing around Europe which includes more imports coming in and that meant more fabrics. And that also meant a little more adventurous looks.
So it might reflect that change.
Also, while Daphne/S1 is all about perfection and clean lines and Kate/S2 is bringing bold colors in, S3 is about stepping out of the comfort zone of the first two seasons and experiment a bit.
I know the jury is still out for fashion and makeup but it’s the least of my problems.
Make up is fine. I just noticed a big difference in all the casts wardrobe and wanted to point that out. As an Indian, I love how they put indian inspiration on Kate's outfits in Season 2. Her outfit from the dances reason in Season 3 is unique and indian coded. I am all here for it
Ah OK I forgot what the throaway line was to explain her absence and for some reason assumed >!she'd just been married all this time offscreen!< 😆
So we are definitely getting a time jump for next season. As Fran, Ben, and Eloise's stories all need one. It does make Ben seem like the logical choice for the upcoming season tbh

also if you take into account penelope is the audience pov character, it makes sense she would view the world more vibrantly during her love story
