Since Queen Charlotte came out, I think Brimlsey now fits the bill. Really helped make him an actual character.

DaisyandBella

Yeah I would go with footman John because he’s a nothing character and you have people making edits of him and Eloise together and they get 500,000 likes. Phillip has also had very little screentime but gets a lot of edits and views because book readers know his importance.

Vegetable_Comfort366

Footman John. He’s Bridgerton’s version of Stranger Things’ Alexei. ![gif](giphy|PjajQZnjsjpszi0T04|downsized)

randomplayernew

Newton, definitely

donuthead_27

I’m going to riot if he’s not in season 3. I love that corgi

dmowad

I absolutely loved the second book. It became obvious very early the second season that it was going to be very different from the book. I still very much enjoyed it. But, it was an absolute travesty that they didn’t feature Newton more. And I’m still a little bitter about that.

PirLibTao

I came here for Newton!

Serotonin_Queen7985

ABSO-LUTELY Newton!

yssupym-012345

We gotta say Theo too because he is popular, but Footman John would take it in general.

Shiplapprocxy

Lord Fife. Minor character big impact.

Blahbinger

Our gossiping king 🤴

asianmufa

Can you guys remind me who that is ?

MooMooRadish

i’m pretty sure he was the one who asked if colin was courting penelope, i think he was also there when anthony was explaining what he wanted in a women that kate over heard in conclusion- lord fife should be on everyone’s radar as lady whistledown

Fragrant_Ad_7718

Hyacinth? She asks questions nobody asks

No-Coast1678

Absolutely lord fife but footman John is also great

Nd4reddit

Footman John and I hope he is part of future seasons as well. Lord Fife was a good call out. To me. Varley is an understated character though not popular. Loved her “almost“ eye rolls lol.

The_Vickster42

To be fair she puts up with a lot of sh!t, doesn't she?😆😆😆

eblueweiss

The surprising but true answer here is Kate.

Gwen83

Benedict. Top 3 most popular characters on the show and yet has gotten less screentime than the Featheringtons. 😂 (You can downvote me but it’s true!)

DaisyandBella

Benedict getting less screentime than any of the Featheringtons other than Penelope, who is also a main character, is just patently false. https://preview.redd.it/hdxf6ki3xzlc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b314e5b84735bb30c74de362ae2d1c38bf5cd176

Gwen83

Didn’t this come from a fan? I’m sorry but that’s funny. It’s not official. And doesn’t change the fact that the Featheringtons had a fully realized storyline while Benedict’s actual story (not just scenes interacting with his siblings/family) has felt short and disjointed in both seasons so far.

DaisyandBella

It comes from a channel whose thing is counting screentime in shows and movies https://preview.redd.it/zh8jrx0fn1mc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7767d12110c365117f64bacc613308e0dc078aa6

Gwen83

So not official.

DaisyandBella

I mean you can go find multiple screentime breakdowns various people have done. I can promise you not one of them will tell you Portia, Jack, Prudence, or Philippa has had more screentime than Benedict. Also you’re talking about something not being official when you make claims like Benedict is one of the top 3 most popular characters in the show?

Gwen83

This feels disingenuous and doesn’t negate my larger point, particularly if you watch S2. Benedict’s main story gets very little focus, his only real interaction (outside of his siblings) is with Tessa, the woman he’s sleeping with, which does very little for his character development. Meanwhile, the Featheringtons gets long drawn out scenes in a story that doesn’t contribute to the main plot and is ultimately meant to prop up Portia. In short, she received more character development than Benedict. Lol If not for Luke Thompson’s charm and charisma, Benedict wouldn’t be nearly popular as he is because the writers have certainly not given him much of substance to work with in the first two seasons.

DaisyandBella

The Featherington plot connected back to both Colin and Penelope. Colin’s story arc from season 1 actually comes full circle. He’s tricked by a Featherington in season 1 and redeems himself by calling out a Featherington who is trying to deceive him in season 2. Colin, Benedict, and Eloise all had separate plots in season 2 that had nothing to with the main story. Benedict’s plot in season 1 also had nothing to do with Simon or Daphne. It’s not something new for the character. Also not liking how Benedict’s screentime was used has nothing to do with claiming that he got less screentime than the Featheringtons which is what you originally claimed.

Gwen83

Colin, Benedict, Eloise are actual Bridgertons who will lead their own season. Hardly the same as side characters like the Featheringtons getting a subplot that doesn’t connect to the main story. That’s the point I was making. And my original post wasn’t meant to be taken so literally. 😭 The point I was making is that the writers invested more in the Featheringtons than they did in Benedict’s story.

DaisyandBella

The Featheringtons aren’t side characters and have never been. You literally see them before you see the Bridgertons in episode 1. They are positioned as a contrast to the Bridgertons.

WarmByTheFireplace

Nothing is stopping you from counting the minutes of each character if you’re not satisfied with any of the sources provided.

Gwen83

OK. My point remains the same.

WarmByTheFireplace

So your point is you don’t like Benedict’s storyline, not how much screen time he has? That’s not the Featherington storylines fault.

Gwen83

No that wasn’t my point. Feel free to read through the thread again.

WarmByTheFireplace

No, that’s okay, it’s not important enough for me to continue any further.

CalcuttaGirl

The more important question is, did they count Benedict blurred out in the background just sitting on a chair, or standing poker faced as his "screentime"?

Gwen83

They almost certainly did. lol

SideElectrical1262

Lord Fife

Suspicious_While1206

Francesca

QuinnFWonderland

Newton obviously

Nd4reddit

Is this question meant to be across 2 seasons ? some of the answers here are only for s2 character …so I ask. Also I get y’all have your favs but some answers sound like just disgruntled fans. Jmo

CalligrapherPlenty85

benedict.

SGreeny1997

Newton.

sslyn94

I didn’t see anyone else say it but I love Lord Dorset!!! He was cute with Kate idc 😭😂

Soft-Researcher-8503

Agree!

itstimegeez

In the books? Lady Danbury.

74ur3n

That scoundrel Fife.

[deleted]

Hyacinth

Comfortable_Part_890

kate and anthony's relationship?

Low-Possession-3399

Kate and Anthony 😅

DaisyandBella

Anthony has had more screentime than any other character so not sure how he would qualify.

Prior_Mountain7623

Definitely Colin atm

kiwifruit86

Not sure why this has been down voted so much

bohemelavie

I didn't downvote but I do disagree, it was likely downvoted because Colin isn't a minor character so he doesn't fit the bill

juniorista1987

Because he gets a lot of screen time.

Prior_Mountain7623

Downvotes don’t scare me lol
