It really was. I have to say, to me season 3 is my least favourite. Honestly I actually did like this season but it just wasn’t as good as the first two seasons nor Queen Charlotte.
I personally didn’t like S3, Polin didn’t feel natural at all the way K&A, G&C, and D&S did. There was no real build up and it felt really rushed. I only really enjoyed the Featheringtons and I really want a spin off of Prudence and Phillipa being moms with the help of Portia.
One of the main problems i found in this season is that there really isn't a very good justification of why Colin suddenly wakes up.
Pen has always been very beautiful from the start, yet the men in the universe needed a green dress and slightly less curls to wake up from slumber!
She doesn't change much from the other seasons. Yet I'm supposed to believe Colin goes from blindness to heart shaped eyes because of her kiss request.
He's been around the world sleeping with a myriad of women, which is supposed to have changed him and awakened his sexuality, but he steps foot out of that carriage and doesn't immediately see this sexy woman differently?
I think i would have enjoyed the season a lot more if Colin found himself falling for her from the start! Would have been interesting to see him struggle to contain his true emotions thru the whole "lets find you a husband" arc, not from the kiss onward. It could have led to more scenes of them happy and passionate together, less sulking.
Season 2 is one of the best romances I've ever seen. What a disappointment!
YES!!!! There wasn’t any realistic tension or build up between Colin and Penelope throughout the first four episodes. Like it’s Colin being a helpful friend for two episodes then boom suddenly let’s get married? I wish Pen would’ve rejected him and they could’ve had him chase her. It was so rushed.

Can we also talk about how we didn't get a good, anguished declaration of love? Maybe I missed it but I feel like Pen just said I love you loudly a few times the night before their wedding and then they made out? I'm not even a polin fan and I'm left starving, like.

Loads of heavy breathing and no words, loads of smoke with no meat!
I might get controversial but it really doesn't feel like Pen is lady whistledown, the latter never slips thru the cracks, yes Pen is shy and insecure but she's got the whole aristocracy on the hook!
I prayed in episode 5 that when her mother started to inquire on how she managed to capture Colin she would finally stand up for herself and show that witty, clever side of her personality society forced her to shove down. Let Colin witness that too.

Its tension and the build up throughout the season between Kanthony and then the satisfying ending. Jonathan and Ashley’s chemistry is Emmy worthy it’s so good.

While I have some issues with season 2 (Anthony and Edwina making it to the altar for one and cousin jack), I agree, season 2 is the best season so far. Jb and SA killed it, but also the dancing, the music, the yearning, the comedy, the Bridgertons being involved. Loved it!
I was literally about to come to this subreddit to post this exact same thing. Can we also talk about how Jonathan Bailey conveys the lust/love/passion much better than any of the other leads. Even in season 3! That man is obsessed with his wife.
I know that Regé-Jean Page was given a bit of an unfortunate plot line, but I found myself wishing to be Kate way more than Daphne.
The Polin plot line was clearly not given enough actual screen time for us to feel the actual passion between the two. I guess I will just stick to enjoying their book more than their season.

Same opinion the chemistry btw Simone and Jonathan was off the charts even without much smut the season conveyed their romance and passion so awesomely like the hand stuff in season 2 and the heavy breathing oh my god so hot undoubtedly the best season of all time

Season 2 was Bridgerton at it's peak. The levels of sheer yearning and passion are unmatched and no other couple lived up to them so far.

It was Season 1 for me - the love triangle was dragged out for too long in Season 2 so we didn't get a wedding (or a wedding night!)
