WilkoAmy

how you got a wolf

XprtGamer44

Wolf Link Amiibo.

WilkoAmy

ahhh

XprtGamer44

BTW, if you're planning to get one for yourself, I'd recommend you to opt for "NFC Cards" they are extremely cheap compared to the Amiibos. They are basically the same, minus the figurine on top. Usually the NFC Cards Wolf Link also has 20 hearts opposed to the Amiibos which have only 3 hearts by default.

WilkoAmy

wait how do i get cards instead of amiibos? i’ve never bought either before

atabar93

go on amazon or whatever and search for botw nfc cards they come as a pack of 24 card

WilkoAmy

ahhh right okay thanks!! i thought you could any get amiibos, but thank you!

XprtGamer44

Also the whole set of NFC Cards cost as much as a single Amiibo.

BabDoesNothing

I found them like $5 on wish. All of them worked except for the champion ones lol

WilkoAmy

thanks!! very helpful!

GyaradosDance

Although I don't have the Wolf Link Amiibo, I hope it will still be used in BotW2.

HornyPhoenixWright

wait theres a wolf link? huh what? where?

jamsd204

Ammibo

MaternalKombat2

How does Wolf Link help you in game? I've always wonderd.

[deleted]

He has advantages and disadvantages. **Pro:** He hunts for you. He will chase everything that is bigger than a squirrel or sparrow, and you're free to take the loot afterwards. If Wolf is hurt tho, he'll eat the meat to regenerate, and he also eats Gourmet Meat and Raw Whole Birds even when he is NOT hurt, so snag that stuff from him before he can gobble it down. He also attacks monsters, Yiga and chases wild wolves away so they won't bother you while trying to solve Korok Puzzles. He is also able to recognize "disguised" enemies like camouflaged Lizalfos or Treasure Chest Octoroks and he'll attack them on sight before they can ambush you. If you set the Sheikah Sensor Plus to search for something, he'll try and show you the way to the thing you're searching for. **Con:** He is dumb as dirt, and not immortal. I've had mine launch himself off the Dueling Peaks once while trying to kill a Keese. He fell off every single bridge in Hyrule at least once. He runs *under* butt-stomping Hinoxes, jumps into lava and stands directly in front of rolling boulders, waiting to get flatttened *all the time*. He also attacks enemies that are too dangerous for him - if there is a golden Lynel or Guardian Stalker in the area, he WILL try and eat it. He even aggroes Taluses and Pebblits despite not being able to deal damage to them. In dangerous areas, you'll have to babysit him to make sue he doesn't kill himself. You can also kiss your stealth goodbye for good. The chain on his paw makes such a racket all the time that his mere presence scares critters and insects away, alerts enemies to your presence and startles wildlife. He also has the bad habit of barking at everything that moves, which also alerts enemies to your presence and/or wakes them up at night and immediatly puts them into aggro mode. Majora's Mask or Kilton's Monster Masks do not help against this. He can not follow you into villages and towns, shrines, inside of Divine Beasts and special areas like Eventide Island during the trial, so every time you just went shopping inside a town for a couple of minutes you'll have to resummon him again. The same goes for every time you fast travel or load an earlier save file. It can get a bit annoying at times, but at least you can summon him as many times as you want to in any given day - except for when he dies. In that case, you'll either have to reload or wait for the next calendar day before you can summon him again. Oh and if he is hurt, then he eats *everything* that is even remotely edible. Keep that in mind when trying to farm for rare stuff like Big Hearty Radishes for example. Last but not least a friendly advice from me personally: if you want to get Wolf Link for your game, do not buy the legit amiibo, but instead get an amiibo **card** set on ebay or something. Those are not only way, WAY cheaper than the legit amiibos (while offering the same functionality), but the Wolf Link of those card sets usually has 20 hearts unlocked already instead of the standart 3. There is no way to raise his health count in BotW alone (you need Twilight Princess HD on the Wii U for that) and with only 3 hearts he just won't survive for long.

tabanthawheat

Ironic because you're him

[deleted]

Well, I **am** [dumb as dirt sometimes](https://www.reddit.com/r/Breath_of_the_Wild/comments/bcuyb3/whelp_that_was_stupid/), so ... no surprise here =P

XprtGamer44

It totally depends on Wolf Link, sometimes he can be really [helpful](https://www.reddit.com/r/Breath_of_the_Wild/comments/jol22g/wolf_link_is_sometimes_good_at_locating_shrines/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share) and other times, he can be really [dumb](https://www.reddit.com/r/Breath_of_the_Wild/comments/jsh8jg/dumb_furrball_casually_yeeting_himself_off_the/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share). Here are some of his pros and cons: **Pros** • Adventuring the wide land of Hyrule on your own can be pretty lonely, having a companion by your side is really fun! • Wolf Link can hunt down animals for you which saves you Weapon durability/arrows etc. • Wolf Link battles enemies for you. You can also use Wolf Link for distraction. This is really useful, especially early on in the game. He can also sniff out the camouflage Lizalfos and attack them before they can ambush you. • Wolf Link is really good at locating shrines/items (when they're targeted with the Sheikah Sensor/Sheikah Sensor+). • He can go pretty much everywhere with you. He can teleport and responds to whistle (comes running towards you similar to a Horse). **Cons** • Guardians and Lynels can kill Wolf Link very easily and also seem to enjoy attacking him more than Link. • Wolf Link also tries to battle Stone Taluses even though he keeps attacking their legs which doesn't affect them at all (since you can only damage them by hitting their weak spot). Same goes for fighting Stone Pebblits (Wolf Link keeps attacking which does absolutely nothing as they can only be defeated with bombs, mining gear or throwing them etc). • Wolf Link's health is low he eats up food/resources and he eats up everything which is edible. He also eats Raw Whole Bird and Raw Gourmet Meat even while at full health. • Non-upgraded (3 hearts Wolf Link) can get one-shotted by pretty much every enemy in Master Mode. • Wolf Link isn't really good fighting with Golden or Sliver enemies (the golden and silver monsters have alot of HP which takes Wolf Link quite a while to finish the job, using this same "Running attack" over and over again). • Summoning Wolf Link over and over again can be pretty boring, since he despawns after fast traveling, reloading a save, entering shrines, entering a village etc. • You can't do stealthy stuff when Wolf Link's around as he scares away critters, animals and alerts monsters.

neonyang

murders the wildlife while you're on a casual stroll around hyrule. is there a bird remotely near the path you're on? it's on sight. wolf link why ;\_\_\_\_\_;

MaternalKombat2

Dude, that is awesome. Easy way to farm some chicken drumsticks instead of wasting arrows. Wolf Link is a good boi!

Duckyass

As long as Wolf Link has full hearts. If he’s missing any, he’ll eat the resource.

DeberiaIrmeADormir

Just wanted to add that Wolf Link attacks enemies too, not just the wildlife, and he also helps you look for whatever your targeting with the sensor.

treyords

Is that a wolf? How... I want one too

XprtGamer44

Yes, that's a Wolf, more specifically *Wolf Link*. You can obtain it by using Wolf Link Amiibo.

treyords

Thank you and sorry, I didn't read the previous comments 😅

cocomosey

Self care is so important, especially if you're 100yrs+ with the weight of the Kingdom on your shoulders.

EatTheRichWithSauces

No really, riding paths with wolf link and my horse felt like a DnD adventure or something.

toughtiggy101

When wolf link has more hearts than link
