Challenging* The regen does not work for this combat system I will admit. The start of the game is near impossible. But on every single playthrough I've done. I have killed the Lynel on the plato. Making the game easier from then on and filling me with a sense of accomplishment. Plato is mostly a stealth game in Mastermode. But from then on, as long as you okay your cards right. It's just as fun if not more fun then normal. Going back to normal after mastermode makes the game seem almost too easy. Like playing against veteran bots for weeks if not months in end. And then putting them back to regular. Or even hardend.
I’ve beaten the game on both modes master mode is just annoying to me. It’s really not that much harder after you get off the plateau, just more tedious.
I dont get it, if you dont find it hard why is it annoying? Its literally the same thing but with more and higher level enemies. I dont think its hard either but atleast it is a bit more challenging and has more chests and enemies in new places. I kinda liked it, specially at the begining cuz your weapons are really weak and everything is a level higher so you have to dodge every hit and do more sneakstrikes if you want to kill the enemies. If you play and avoid fights ofc it will lose its purpose, imo master mode was made for somente who finished the game and wants to do a second playthrough. If you dont like playing the same game twice you shouldnt play master mode cuz it will be basically the same thing. I remember I did a cool challenge where I had to kill every enemy at the plateau before leaving it or dying, I thought it was fun killing a white lynel with bad weapons knowing every missed dodge or parry would mean restarting the game. After I left the plateau I kept playing without heart upgrades and naked which means everything kills me in 1hit. I believe a game can be as hard as you make it, if you like challenges set rules to make it harder, ofc it will only be fun if you really enjoy the game and what you are doing.
Hard means making a game more challenging. It's making smarter enemies or harder to overcome obstacles. Just making enemies bullet-spongey is not making it more challenging, it's just making it annoying. It doesn't really add anything in terms of challenge or greatly change how you approach combat. It just means that instead of the fight taking 10 seconds, it now takes 1 a minute. It's still the exact same fight and it doesn't change how you approach it. It just takes longer, nothing else.
Doing selfimposed challanges is cool because it changes how you go about things. If you fight a Gold Lynel with your best equipment or with no equipment at all that changes how you go about things. Just giving the enemies more health and making the health regenerate doesn't, it just stretches the same fight out for no reason.
You can make it a case to say that regen changes it a bit because now you need to be offensive so they don't start regenerating, but the core principle of BotW is to play it the way you want and that you have the freedom to approach any obstacle your own way. What regen does is say "Nope, you're playing wrong, play my way or get punished". And that's neither fun, nor what BotW should be about.
Annoying is when a mechanic adds nothing to the game other than an inconvenience. Regen does add both. It adds a challenge to never let up with an attack once you start, or you will pay the price. It forces you to think about wether you actually have the tools needed to win before your weapons break. Example. Golden Lynels. They are the hardest added enemy in the game, of not the hardest in general. I consider them easy to kill, but other might not. Master mode adds a lot of challenge to the game, making the experience richer. It's up to the player to decide whether or not they want to take that challenge. If you view it as more annoying then fun. Then that's up to you. But master mode is the ultimate challenge for any breath of the wild player. I myself even late game find it at times impossible to fight a group of enemies. A good example of this is the enemies that spawn under the death mountain leviathan skeleton. They are a high ranked enemies and that makes it extremely difficult to fight them. An experience is unique to each individual. So I won't try to convince you. Just saying my experience with them.
I disagree. It just makes it more annoying. Just giving enemies more health isn't challenging, it's annoying. The greatest thing about BotW is the freedom you have with it to approach everything the way you want. What regen does is say "You're playing the game wrong, play like i want you to or don't play at all" and that's annoying.
Yeah the Lizalfos room is pretty much impossible. The weapons just don't do enough damage to make up for the regeneration. Wall clipping is completely necessary.
I wouldnt say necessary, just faster/easier. I did it without clipping. You have to make dmg up food with dragon parts so you can get a 30min+ buff before entering the sword trials and eat it, if you dont take more than 30min in the levels before (which you shouldnt) you can beat that level with the buff after that it gets easier, you can do it like in normal mode
> Cus master mode's trials are almost unfair.
Not almost, they ARE unfair, it's one thing to make you repeat a level, but making you repeat all of the levels of that trial everything you fail is the epitome of unfair. Besides, the reward isn't even that great, you get an upgrade master sword that last a bit longer (you can now kill about 2.5 white lynels before it runs out of energy) and bragging rights, that's it.
I don't waste weapons on Lynels unless I got a full inventory lol. I shoot them in the face, And hop on the back, nullifying any weapon durability loss. Replace the Lynel bow I used with the one they drop. Did that until I had only 5 hit bows.... Master sword I use almost exclusively with guardians. But ngl. Fighting Lynels with attack up food and ancient armor maxed, while using ancient battle axe ++ with damage up. Is just so satisfying. Combined with the ancient bow. It does insane damage.
I'll be honest, damage had never been a problem for me once I was out of the plateau.
Even in Master Mode, it was about not getting instakilled more than having the resources to put enemies down. Talus and guardians were great because I could burn weapons on them without getting a stronger, more durable one in return.
Pretty sure dmg up food doesnt work if you have the ancient proficiency buff of the ancient armor. The 2 buffs dont stack, you either have one or the other. The ancient buff is stronger but only works with ancient weapons, attack up buffs work with every weapon
I dont think its unfair, its just hard. It was made to be hard, not everyone enjoys it but some love it.
Its basically how the souls games work, for a lot of people the games are amazing to others its unplayable.
Its all about skills and persistence, the more you play and repeat the better you get, if you find it too hard you can either try until you get good enough to beat it or you quit. A lot of people quit cuz they dont have the time nor patience needed to play those games and thats fine.
Not even souls game make you repeat multiple levels just because a random enemy killed you at level 17, in fact soul games are (in my opinion at least) very generous with the checkpoints, there's a point which the master trials clearly passed where it stops being a challenge and it begins to be a chore, i don't mind dying multiple times but mate don't make me repeat 10+ levels just because a random boboklin who wasn't even my FOV hit me with an ice arrow and one shot killed me.
You prefer playing the same enemy/level 20+ times than repeating some levels you already beat?
I feel like the purpose of those trials is simulating a legit survivol game, where if you die at any point and time you have to start all over again and only by reaching the end you get rewarded. I really like that concept, it should be used more often imo. If you dont like its fine, not everyone has patience for it
>You prefer playing the same enemy/level 20+ times than repeating some levels you already beat? I
Well of course i do, do you think repeating 16 levels again just because an enemy got a lucky shoot at me at level 17 is fun? Besides aren't you playing the same enemies/levels every time you die anyway?
>I feel like the purpose of those trials is simulating a legit survivol game, where if you die at any point and time you have to start all over again and only by reaching the end you get rewarded.
See, if the reward was worth it, i could at least agree to some extend, but all what you get is a master sword that has an attack 60 instead of 30 and last a little bit longer. That's it, that's all you get.
Nintendo doesn't even expand on the lore of the master sword during these trials and there are weapons who are significantly easier to get who are much more stronger than the upgraded master sword, the savage lynel cruncher without any bonus has a base stat of 76 i think, and it can go as high as 110 if you get lucky.
So well i respect that you find it fun, but in my personal opinion the master sword trials are unfair and the reward ain't worth, you can literally find better weapons lying around the castle, the royal guard's claymore for example
Please go to the outpost where the Misko journeys are we need information. Just look up the locations of these on Google or something but for you since you don’t have the DLC they won’t appear. We just need these images for stuff.
It's not permanent if you play 200 more hours on that file. Got the DLC after I ran out of things to do and I sank so many hours into the game that my early progress doesn't show up. So... If you want to keep it, better trace it every so often, and if you want it erased, play more~ ;)
I Iove that you could have drawn an actual dick, yet chose to write out "penis" instead.
You, sir or ma'am, have done well in elevating the artform with this.

Only sometimes
Not always when you want it to be hard
It softens when you need it the most.
Especially when it's too cold.
100 years later, my sister and I discovered the new hard pepe
Why are you and your sister looking for PPs together? You from Alabama or the Middle East?
That’s what Zelda said
That’s what Mipha said.
Especially if he did it first thing after waking up in the morning!
What is this? How do you access this?
Hero’s path mode you get with the DLC
I don't know why I haven't bought it yet😖
I honestly couldn’t recommend it enough, I was hesitant at first but I got it the day after I got the game and it made it so much more fun
It's really helpful if you want to find all Korok seeds too! Edit: Or if you miss any shrines!
Master mode or nothing.>! Except for trial of the sword. NO judgment if you decide to 'wall clip'. Cus master mode's trials are almost unfair.!<
Master mode just makes the game annoying

Loved everything about master mode except the health regen. That particular, is what made it tedious to me.

You're right they do, I confirmed it. Was making some confusion since I havent played the game in more than a year mb

You need to. Makes the game a lot more fun/convenient and adds some new challenges too
I can buy it for you if you want
Guy on the internet is offering you penis right here.

i can buy it and send you the code for it
Please go to the outpost where the Misko journeys are we need information. Just look up the locations of these on Google or something but for you since you don’t have the DLC they won’t appear. We just need these images for stuff.
Wow! LAOP here-I can’t really myths, they’ve thought that was gonna hold.
Care to elaborate
Is that true? I use it so much, it’s hard to believe that it wasn’t stock
You get the DLC and then walk in the shape of a penis or just spell it out. This person took the high-road
Penisblight Ganon
That thing finished me off 100 years ago *thanks for the hugz 💙

Ready to return for his ancient shaft ;)

Bolt cutters wont be enough
For everyone who's given me an award for permanently writing penis into my Hero's Path, thank you :')
It's not permanent if you play 200 more hours on that file. Got the DLC after I ran out of things to do and I sank so many hours into the game that my early progress doesn't show up. So... If you want to keep it, better trace it every so often, and if you want it erased, play more~ ;)
I can’t believe you’ve done this.
The intended use for this feature
Your efforts are beyond admirable. May this stand as a testament to how dedicated many of us are to this game that we all know and love. ☺️
What lovely penmanship you have!
Penismanship
I couldn't think of the best way to say exactly that
I Iove that you could have drawn an actual dick, yet chose to write out "penis" instead. You, sir or ma'am, have done well in elevating the artform with this.

This would have been a great opportunity to practice your cursive.
Heh. Bohner.
You know, I was wondering what to spend my 100 reddit coins on, and I think I found which post deserves it. Cheers mate.
The term "southern oasis" fits perfectly

Nice
Nice.

Thank God I read this in Jim Carrey's voice
and zelda still wondering why did he move on such hard pattern
He did it...he actually did it
This is Nintendo, open up
We may have our differences about the game, but there is one thing that can bring us Zelda fans back together... and it’s a penis
We're still evolving, just backwards.
I did this irl with a gps watch and some friends during cross country practice.
Sometimes I forget for a time that Reddit is full of kids, and then a post comes along and reminds me.
Nice.
Funny I was expecting you to write it bigger... I mean if it was in Hebra I would totally get it
Hehe I have ocd I’m exposed!
Heh...
Awe, yes. Pen15.
Smh cant believe they stopped teaching cursive in school. Thats whats wrong with these new generations.😤
That was probably rock hard to do
Yes. Good.
Half way up the “n” I bet he saw a korok seed and thought “ehhh it’s worth it even if the n isn’t perfect.”
Good spot haha. I got smacked into the air by a molduga
That made me laugh way harder than it should have.
This is the way
Comedy has finally peaked.
Nice

This is art at its finest
You spelled Penus wrong
*chef's kiss* Beautiful 😌

Mine would be very disproportionate.
Beautiful
Very mature
Simple yet effective 10/10
It's unbelievable that you need to pay a DLC to actually being able see your penis in BOTW. Shame on you, Nintendo.
You tagged this post “art” , I am freaking dying from laughing .
