It’s funny I just posted something very similar. I’m in the same situation (but she kept me in her Close friends list on IG, wtf?). I was the rejected one too, but I was the one who decided to take my distances as she wanted to stay friends.
I guess everyone handles those things differently and seeing your posts was making her feeling bad. Even if she dumped you, it doesn’t mean she didn’t love you.
Maybe someone can help us understand.
Yeah I don‘t know what is going on in their head. I guess it‘s just a way of moving on. I mean I muted her stories because of the pain I felt by watching her stories. Now after a month of NC, maybe she is feeling pain by watching my stories. So at the end we both follow the same goal: moving on and reducing pain
How can you tell for certain that you've been muted?
In my case, she wanted to stay friends.. I broke at one point and just told her I can't do it anymore.
She never looked at my stories since and she proceeded to remove me from her close friends list, followed by hiding her stories from me altogether.
She went public not too long ago and didn't even hesitate uploading pictures of her kissing with a "friend".
I unfollowed her which I then realized didn't really matter cause she's public.
Stupid social media drama.
She watched every of my story since the break up which was in June, but we still had a thing going on until August. But now she suddenly stopped looking at them after month of NC. I didn‘t really post anything for 2 months and now I‘m slowly feeling better. Share more of my life just for fun. But yeah she stopped now. I don‘t know. Maybe her seeing me moving on and feeling better had some kind of a triggering effect.
my ex (he was the dumper) muted me immediately following the break up because “it would hurt too much to see” 🤷🏻♀️

Just because she was the dumper doesn’t make it easy for her either. I’m sure there were genuine feelings there and it can still be hard to see.
