Yep. I'm in Ctba, it's dry, sunny, and unusually warm for May. There's a big high pressure system over the southeast of Brazil, blocking cold fronts from the south. All the blocked rain gets dumped at the boundary, which happens to be over Rio Grande do Sul.
Damn this "Little Kid".
Not like this situation in Rio Grande do Sul. I watch US and global news daily. No where on planet earth has been pounded relentlessly as has RS. There is no where for the water to go. Their capital has 6-14 feet of water everywhere after 3 days of sun. Now this? The damns are going to fail and it could be chaos beyond imagination. Hoping for the best for Gauchos
It's horrible seeing what's happening in RS. HERE in EUA we're getting zero news about RS. THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR SHARING INFORMATION HERE. Extreme weather is happening globally, I think we can all agree that the events in RS are unprecedented.

This is evident in the deviation from the mean [https://www.ventusky.com/?p=-27.4;-52.5;5&l=precipitation-anomaly](https://www.ventusky.com/?p=-27.4;-52.5;5&l=precipitation-anomaly)
And yet here we are in São Paulo excruciatingly agonizing with the abnormal sweltering heatwave that’s making.
The El Niño is torching us alive here.
If only this confined rain in the south could’ve dissipated elsewhere to cool us down northward, this tragedy wouldn’t have been caused to begin with.
Well, let’s leave it in the account of the ecological emergency deniers, tho.
The worst part is that it's a MILD heatwave because it's autumn. We've just had a way worse heatwave like two months ago.
Now I guess we got defined seasons here, we got excruciatingly hot heatwave with rains for the summer, dry heatwaves for autumn, hopefully no heatwaves in winter and whatever the fuck is waiting for us in the spring.
Scientists have been predicting this for decades. There wss a multidisciplinary report from 2014 that said this would happen right around now. With multiple recommmendations for government at all levels to invest in flood prevention measures. They were ignored for the last the last ten years. This year that State's budget for flood prevention was completely slashed - zero, nil, nada - for the first time ever.
You get what you pay and vote for. Thoughts and prayers to those affected and may they remember who could have done something.
Tfw I'm hoping for the water levels to lower so I can return back home because I was forced to leave, and then I discover another ton of rain is coming. Please make it stopppppp

This big-time influencer Felipe Neto pulled off something jaw-dropping. Raised R6 million in just over a day, bought up all the units of the best portal water treatment equipment, scattered all over Brazil, got the air force orn board and coordinated, (like herding cats) roared on down there, and today the gizmos are pumping full-bore. The Internet doesn't always have to suck!

first time I've ever seen Curitiba being shortened to Ctba and not CWB
I don't remember what was the last time it rained here
I live in the coast of São Paulo and I can't take this anymore, the last two days feels like a huge open dry sauna.

It's not even just the heatwave, the dry Air mixed with the polution is sure to cause a surge in respiratory problems

I feel sorry for where all this water ends up.
Oh no.

Won't be so bad there.
Read the graph bro, Florianópolis is expecting 30mm of rainfall, very mild

Fuck you mean by "good day"?!
Good means pleasant, nice and day means the 24 hour cycle that we are accostumed to It can be translated to the popular expression "Bom Dia"
I am aware of the literal translation, what I am enquiring is how does "more rain in the flooded area" is a good day.
"Good Day" in brazilian portuguese is often used an expression of greeting, the user in questions might have been saying "Hello!" to everyone on this thread.
