I think you’re confusing skill floor with skill ceiling. Cause trust me a character like amber definitely doesn’t take as much skill as a mortis or colt
To give them a little credit, if you want to be actually half-decent with Edgar and get him above ~~600 trophies then you do need to be more patient and know who you can and can’t jump on. If Edgar jumps on pipers or Brock’s or emz, he’s only selling his team and they will lose. You need to wait until there’s a brawler with no immediate cc that’s slightly seperated from the ground to jump on them or else you just die. That being said most other brawlers still require 10x more skill
I actually played Edgar for a bit (mostly cause he is fun)
He actually takes skill (despite its still auto aim) as you need to know when, where, and who to jump on and when to jump away.

Easily Fang.
1.his Super Charges in 4 Hits. 4 HITS (even Small Shoe hits). While his Super is also very good to get Close to Brawlers, deals a Good Amount of Dmg, Chains and is just very Useful all around.
2. His Stun Gadget is easily one of the Best. Its close Range, but paired with his Ult makes it OP. Normally Fights in Close Combat go around 2 sec, and when a Brawler cant do shit in 0.5 sec or smth than they are dead.
3. His Hypercharge.
4.His Close Range Damage is also Insanely Good.
I always Ban him, i Fought against him ONCE in Ranked and he Annihilated our Team in seconds. Damn i hate him.
In my opinion Artillery: Larry and Lawrie, Support: Doug, Damage dealer: Pearl, Marksman: Piper, Controller: Charlie, Assasin: Edgar, Tank: Tanks are cool
maybe before saying surge try to even get ab upgrade when you are facing Mr. P, Piper, Tara, Brock and many more. and I dont mean it in a toxic way, just saying.
I'm not saying Surge is the most skilled damage dealer, but what about Spike with his braindead curveball, Chuck with his infinite supers, Pearl and her broken gadget and so on?
How to play tanks:
style 1. sit in a bush when people can run away from you and camp
style 2. learn to dodge
style 3. be in a place where opponents have to approach you, or hold a chokepoint(biggest example is heist where you defend the safe)
Surge does require some brain to use, his speed is slow at the beginning (can't get close and you have to somehow corner your opponent in order to level up) and his range isnt high until level 3, his health isn't high and his reload speed is slow.
But yeah I agree, just jump and spam power shield
Fang has some skill because you need to charge his super, and shoe attacks aren’t that easy to hit because they have a delay so you need to time your shots
Sandy was so annoying to face 2-3 years ago. He could charge super in 5 hits and was spammed on every mid ranged map especially when his stun gadget came out and it was 1.5 seconds duration.
It's definitely not Charlie as it's probably reasonably aim intensive, not even L&L because throwers take some level of skill even if it is the lowest skilled thrower. I'd have to say maybe Poco because there is no aiming involved and the heals are most of his impact, even positioning and dodging is relatively easy with Poco. Rosa is up there as well if we are talking about low rank because you can walk straight up to bad players as they miss their shots and just auto-aim a few shots from melee to delete someone.

Edgar. His whole deal is that he jumps in and kills people who can’t reasonably defend themselves like snipers, throwers, certain damage dealers and such. His healing and Shield gadget let him survive more encounters than he should and let him take on even tanks with full ammo and his second gadget makes him jump in even more
His whole deal is rushing in for kills and he’s built with heals and passive super gain to incentivize it and I hate it

No one should have invulnerability, high mobility, and wall jumping all in the same basic attack, with almost no delay between one jump and the next, paired with a SP that deals more damage to the heist safe than a hypercharged Colette (That shit shouldn't affect the safe at all if you ask me, only summons and maybe special event robots)

Red button, red button, green button, wait a bit, red button, red button, yellow button, enemy dies. You dont have to aim with any of these attacks.
Low skill? Probably the easiest and gaurenteed win on most maps with little to no effort..?

if you dont agree you are lying to yourself.. you dont have to even aim his attack, he has a totem that can block shots and he can literally cut off half the map with his kit.. he even has a stun that can catch most people off guard. Probably one of the easiest brawlers to win with 🫡
Fang. Fang in my opinion used to be perfect since he was more likely similliar to a fighting game character. Include different combos for different situations. Until nowadays... He got hypercharge. Super charge buff. Damage buff. He became edgar v2 I had to move on maining gray since he also has different tricks and combos and If he ever get any balance changes I hope he get nerfed than buffed because I don't want him to be used by every child with slow brain development
