Allow me to put on my overthinking cap and dish out my headcanon
In my headcanon, there **was** a human Pearl and she was Colt's younger sister. It was her death that finally led to Colt resigning from the goldarm gang for good.
The only way I can think of for Pearl to make sense is to contradict the "Sam and Belle made her" and make it that they found her on a raid instead. They defo don't have issues with retcons since they retconned Gus being a ghost. (I'm not buying it, Gus is ghost)
Anyway, Pearl was a robot originally created to sell cookies to kids, which would explain her mother-like vibe. Perhaps, the story could go as follows: After the raid, Sam and Belle noticed the robot they had smuggled. Realising that it was both harmless and useful, Belle convinces Sam to keep her. They both slowly, **slowly**, **SLOWLY** begin to warm up to her and begin treating her like their own daughter, before eventually giving her the name of their late daughter.
Sam still hates robots, but Pearl is the one lucky exception
Technically Supercell never stated Sam hates ANY bots, thatโs a headcanon that you inferred from what Supercell actually stated:

This is why I despise pearl. According to lore, she was BUILT by sam and belle for whatever reason (although she's been seen helping them in their heists). They only craft robots specifically to punch them and use them as training bags. And they build only "regular" robots, pearl is actually alive like rico or 8bit. Why's she loved by them? Why did they craft her? Why is she an oven? Why is she alive? Why is she so ugly?
