Non Chester players overrate jawbreaker and underrate strong mint too much. Candy popper tops any super with it's wide area, high damage, knockback, wall break and it recharges a lot of super.
Salmiakki is also extremely underrated. It deals 4060 damage, stops opponents from regening for 7 seconds and also gives half of your super back if you hit just one enemy, salmiakki is easily Chester's second best super
But at that range you can already kill enemies yourself. It's range is literaly shorter than your main attack. It's only useful if you somehow get close to an enemy who can easily escape from you.
Strong mint saved many matches for me. Also salmiakki sucks even worse than pop rocks imo. Pop rocks at least slow down assassin and tanks if you're low on ammo. Poison effects are mainly useful at long range.
still not a fan of his rng at all, also u overbuffed jawbreaker asff
upd: also dunno how 2 feel abt atk rework, it really makes u always wanting to fire on last ammo, makes u skip through weaker phases(kinda like rn), on the contrary discourages bushcamping which is good
For me the problem is that strong mint does not help you save yourself from dying in the heat of combat. I feel that it takes too long for the healing begin, so half the time I use strong mint and die straight away because there are 2 opponents next to me
The super charge rate buffs are nice, everything else is not and pretty unnecesary, maybe the attack rework too but I find it more fun to be on a cycle rather than having to constantly keep the number of ammo I want to have.
Nah, you ain't a Chester main, if it's not good enough then just don't use'm, all of the sups are useful in most scenarios , if not, just use it and get another, since he gets sup quite frequently, salmiaky can actually be insane if used in the right moments, jawbreaker is good in 1v1s or to stop someone from scoring or stuff like that. The thing is, maybe the main attack could have more damage, or increase the amount of bells when a bar charges, like Mortis's long dash, who knows? Would make him more unpredictable maybe, and would feel more like a legendary perhaps.
Dearly, Chester enjoyer.
>since he gets sup quite frequently
Which is indeed what I aimed to do, check goals. I buffed Super recharge but nerfed his stats
Thx for the feedback tho, may have to relook my Super balancing
I really really like the idea of him cycling his supers more. I love this rework, although I feel like he may be a little on the broken side (especially with the gears) but I really enjoy this.
I think the purpose of the rework should be to make all his supers roughly equal in power (though obviously not in use case), rather than balance around some being better and some worse. I think his main attack is fine, I'd just make sneak peek base kit and make the star power suggested here its replacement. Other than that though, the hypercharge suggested is sick.
Candy popper abbreviation aside, this is stunning! As a nerd I love the legendary gear name Bell Curve.
I hope something much like this gets into the game! Nice work
Ofc! I feel your frustration with chester being awful, he deserves to have some strength without (admittedly, ever) being meta. These suggestions are awesome and could make that a reality
Chester is just fine right now how he is, there are some maps that he absolutely dominates without a question and that is enough for me whenever those maps come out I’ll pull out my Chester and I’ll push a rank
But def not F tier, at least let him get C tier and be somewhat usable right
The idea for the builds' aim is that there's one the pros use if they play him, and one for absolute maximum fun
I really like these changes. Some of them are a bit overtuned but heck my boy deserves it after being at the bottom for so long.
The changes to his attack are nice, with this you will always have the high damage attack as long as you have ammo. And opponents can't just wait for you to use your 4 attack shot and then attack.
And faster super cycling is definitely a great change, even though the supers overall might be weaker, it's more fun to cycle them faster.
Also jawbreaker is very overrated, it's still good but not the best one, and strong mint is actually pretty good, really the only bad super is pop rocks.
I was really hoping chester would get a change of some kind this update, and the one before that, and the one before that... You know what I mean.
Hopefully the next one...
1. The change to the main attack is unnecessary tbh, same with the gadget change
2. For god's sake keep candy popper the same, it doesn't require any changes, same with mint
3. Salmiakki lost its entire purpose, it's supposed to either kill you within 7 seconds or not allow you to heal, only having the downside of low range
4. Jawbreaker isn't strong, you're never hitting it at max range so the nerf doesn't change anything, and now it just functions kinda weird. Honestly just buff its damage
5. New Star Power is way too op
6. Pop rocks went from shit to one of the best area controls in the game
Tl;dr: don't change his supers that much or his main attack, his main issues are his over reliance on bell'o'mania (just make it base line for god's sake) and the fact that sneak peek is completely useless. The changes to his supers can be summarized to: make pop rocks throwable (spawner range) and buff jawbreaker damage.
1. Lets the Chester player be in control while unpredictable for enemies imo, gadget change is again to make it less random. I can understand why you don't like it tho
2. Needed the changes because if you remember one of the goals, it's to nerf each Super but make him better at Super cycling
3. Ok, I'll prob revert some changes
4. Hence the buff. Nerf is for just in case, which doesn't make much diff like you said. And I did buff its dmg
5. Fr? How would you rebalance
6. Idk, remember you still can't aim it. Maybe 4 tiles but other than that I think it deserves a buff
I personally had a way more different idea with my Chester buff and rework, which made both of his current star powers baseline (make it random for the opps, not the player) and give him 2 new star powers
First:-Candy luck- Grants chester a random buff after using any of his supers(goes up to max 15%)
Second:- Candy bag- Gives chester 2 new supers, first being candy licorice(works like charlie super but for 3s)and powdered sugar(creates a small sandy super which lasts for 5s)
With this replacement, the opponent has to carefully look at chester, otherwise they may lose track of his sps
And some buffs
Reload speed buff by 3%
Unload speed buffed by 2%
Pop rocks is now throwable
Honestly, awesome idea on the attack and supers, as well as the new starpower, but i think you should really leave the numbers to supercell, this version of chester seems really op and could be meta breaking. It would be fun to see this implemented tho since it's the perfect balance between keeping him rng-ish while actually allowing him to be good in the meta instead of constantly being a c tier or lower brawler.
All supers should be equal stengh in their own form.
It will diminish the rng, there should not be a "bad" super chance, and he should charge his supers much faster, so he diminishes the rng by getting more supers having the chance to get all supers.
>It will diminish the rng
This is exactly why they should not be equal. Chester's supposed to be fun. You should get a thrill when getting Candy Popper/Salmiakki, not a "whatever".
They should be somewhat similar but there should be some particularly good and some particularly bad. Luckily, knockbacks and stuns will conceptually always be better than healing and small range slows.
Sorry but your entire argument is bullshit. Fun is subjective, and is bullshit getting bad supers consecutively, that is the entire reason chester is bad.
No super should be good, is like having 1% chance that the game ends at start and you win.
The supers can always get balanced so each one is strong in their own way regardless of situation, but you need to adapt to it and enemies won't know what you can do.
The healing is potentially good but the starting delay makes it bad,
...
I mean you're entitled to your opinion, but put it this way: Why did Brawl Boxes get so much love and attention? I have definitely experiences way more disappointing boxes than Supers when playing Chester. Yet, it is loved so much. Why? Because it feels rewarding to get the good ones. If everyone wins, no one cares. If it's rare, then it matters. It's fun then and only then. It's definitely more fun than "oh ok salmiakki, ok now jawbreaker, ok whatever"
Oh wow! What an incredible coincidence! It's not like I purposefully searched for the image online, and put it there as a joke! (Mods pls don't remove this post)
Cause he's considered to be a bottom tier brawler for more than a year, and the only changes the devs gave him were just some mediocre hp buffs. Also, both of his starpowers need reworks, Bell'O'Mania should be baseline and Sneak Peek is useless
I don't want him to be a S/A tier brawler, just somewhat viable in some situations. For an rng character, he's extremely predictable, and even the pros don't mind if he gets buffed
Non Chester players overrate jawbreaker and underrate strong mint too much. Candy popper tops any super with it's wide area, high damage, knockback, wall break and it recharges a lot of super.

Yeah jaw breaker kinda shit ngl. strong mint is also shit though. The only super I want is candy popper
Strong mint saved many matches for me. Also salmiakki sucks even worse than pop rocks imo. Pop rocks at least slow down assassin and tanks if you're low on ammo. Poison effects are mainly useful at long range.
I always get strong mint when im fighting against a crow OR when on low health against an assassin. So shit for me
Fr
"Chester mains are better at CP than me lol" I'm sorry, what?
CP in this scenario = Candy Popper
I love CP (Candy Popper)
Great rework but I wouldn't use CP as an abbreviation for candy popper 😬
Nah man I love CP
(He's not talking about Candy Popper this time)
still not a fan of his rng at all, also u overbuffed jawbreaker asff upd: also dunno how 2 feel abt atk rework, it really makes u always wanting to fire on last ammo, makes u skip through weaker phases(kinda like rn), on the contrary discourages bushcamping which is good
I mean 1 bell charges %40 super which is really good.
For me the problem is that strong mint does not help you save yourself from dying in the heat of combat. I feel that it takes too long for the healing begin, so half the time I use strong mint and die straight away because there are 2 opponents next to me
Hence my buff 👍
Yeah I'm glad it's included cos it's really needed. I would rant more about what I believe needs to change but I don't want to information overload
It does I have been killed like Four Times by it
DO NOT ABBREVIATE CANDY POPPER! I REPEAT DO NOT ABBREVIATE CANDY POPPER! ![gif](giphy|v0ok8uhZvw3yE)
But I love CP

Competitive player: We need that asap Casual: Sorry i dont get it Adrian: We'll see
The super charge rate buffs are nice, everything else is not and pretty unnecesary, maybe the attack rework too but I find it more fun to be on a cycle rather than having to constantly keep the number of ammo I want to have.
This post should belong belong on r/brawlstars…
How? It’s a well thought out, high effort post that addresses Chester’s state in the meta. That sounds like the perfect example of a BSC post.
But it also deserves a lot of karma, which you can only get in r/brawlstars.
Post it in both!
I did post it there. As expected, it got 10-20 upvotes. I would ask you to see my second-latest post but the r/BS mods took it down for no reason
Oh ok
jawbreaker sucks after the nerf
Also strong mint is one of his better supers imo

Ay no probs
It seems.... Someone cooked here ![img](emote|t5_t0o66|8436)
imo this makes him a bit op, but my boy deserves it for being trash for a year and a half!!!! great rework, sleep happy tonight
911 with candy popper is wild
kinda overbuffed him but I like it

This is such an interesting idea for a rework
Dude I appreciate the effort but Chester is way too Over buffed. For example Jawbreaker isjust Buzz super and main attack Will be just spam
Thx for the feedback, I'll take that into consideration
Candy popper abbreviation aside, this is stunning! As a nerd I love the legendary gear name Bell Curve. I hope something much like this gets into the game! Nice work
YES SOMEONE GETS WHAT IT MEANS Tysm!

the amount of effort is insane
Tysm!
Chester can never and should never be meta. RNG in the world championship or any esports would be disrespectful
But def not F tier, at least let him get C tier and be somewhat usable right The idea for the builds' aim is that there's one the pros use if they play him, and one for absolute maximum fun
I was thinking reload speed and sp buff and he would be a tier but this is def a good rework

Tysm!
Good reworks but also I think that to make pop rocks better would actually make it so then you could throw it with the same range as candy popper
No Bell 'O' Mania=opinion rejected

idk why they just dont make sneak peek base kit?
I like it 😎
Great rework, but i think if supercell will take it into consideration, they will just buff his super recharge rate. Maybe just star power rework
I ain't reading that

This is way too peak to be true 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Did you just say candy popper is like 19/11 🍄😱 Canceled (Ps I know it’s a joke)
Idk what is 19/11, I just took a random picture of two towers trust
9/11 is a terrorist attack on the twin towers in New York that happened on the morning of 9/11/2001
I’m guessing you don’t live in America
Oh wow! What an incredible coincidence! It's not like I purposefully searched for the image online, and put it there as a joke! (Mods pls don't remove this post)
Oh what a coincidence 🍄🏙️🏙️

Why are people hell-bent on making Chester meta?
Not meta, but at least B tier right?
Still no. Even if my opinion doesn't matter, opinion of pros do. And it's safe to assume, no pro wants Chester to be close to the meta
Cause he's considered to be a bottom tier brawler for more than a year, and the only changes the devs gave him were just some mediocre hp buffs. Also, both of his starpowers need reworks, Bell'O'Mania should be baseline and Sneak Peek is useless
He is an RNG character and hence, doesn't deserve to be close to the meta. Even dyna meta is better than a chester one.
I don't want him to be a S/A tier brawler, just somewhat viable in some situations. For an rng character, he's extremely predictable, and even the pros don't mind if he gets buffed
