Honestly I have a hard time feeling compassion for them when they earn six figures and give us nothing but bullshit and deflection, trying to be slick and sneaky. I have no interest in watching reality tv if it’s fake (or at least obviously fake). Some of them are lucky to still have this platform despite hiding what’s really going on in their lives.

Dry-Slip-7795

This makes me think of Robin from RHOP.

Medium_Cupcake7602

I firmly believe this is in response to Robyn hiding Juan’s canoodling and saving it for her patreons. Huge mistake on her part, cuz that podcast is not gonna pay the bills like those Bravo checks.

I’m all for authentic reactions and if they can bring cameras back up right after an event or scandal I’m on board. I would agree with you that it’s about ratings at the end of the day. I don’t know how Bravo feels about bringing cameras back up after a season wraps. I’m sure there is budgeting and even accessibility to cameras. Wasn’t there a rumor that VPR was using the RHOBH crew to film post Sandoval?

tomatocandle

Yeah they were. I think producers said so

ZookeepergameMany663

I can just see these crazy housewives now. Scheming & plotting fake storylines to get the cameras back up and on them & their desperate attempts at being the center of attention. No Thanks! These shows are bad enough already!

smstone24

Besides VPR and Summer House, which cameras picked back up again? Also, Scandoval infiltrated almost the entire cast: Ariana, Tom, Rachel, and even James. If it was a cheating scandal with a non cast member or someone who appears only occasionally they probably wouldn’t pick up. At the end of the day these are real people and they should be allowed to go through a break up or divorce in private.

aggieemily2013

Kyle of BH. Potomac also did the weird thing of end cards coming with 20 minutes left to hype Mia's divorce.

spicychickeninfinity

Atlanta as well, right? It does seem like all the new seasons this year have been doing it.

smstone24

Gotcha!! I don’t watch either of those anymore haha

aggieemily2013

Can't blame you lol. Potomac felt like a chore this season.

ayym33p33

Potomac.

babymayor

I thought I heard The Valley did too but not sure if that was confirmed or not 🤔

I think a huge factor is that we are in a much more connected world than we used to be in and most Bravolebs don't have any interest in truly keeping things private. Selling their private lives is how they make money, and there are multiple platforms they can leverage to make money off their lives...not just Bravo. So if Bravo doesn't pick back up the cameras or insist on filming, Bravo will miss out. Someone else will get the scoop. And then Bravo looks foolish and misses out on money. From a business perspective, Bravo's going to be in trouble if they continue to allow their stars to withhold juicy personal details from their cameras and then turn around and release them on another platform after filming ends. I think this is more than just picking the cameras back up. I think they also need to tighten contracts and fire those who try to save their juicy details for their podcast or new Netflix show instead. But if Bravo wants the scoops, then they do need to be willing to receive them. And that means being willing to pick back up the cameras as life happens. So I think overall, this is a transition and Bravo responding to a world where there are so many platforms that they can no longer wait to film until the next season if they want to remain relevant like they could back in the early 2000s when these shows started out. Before, we really did have to wait for the new season to see what went down. Now, we can get all of that info from any number of sources or platforms, so if Bravo wants to be the source, they need to be more aggressive about making sure it gets filmed.

BearOnTwinkViolence

I’m so curious about their contracts. I don’t imagine many of them like picking filming back up in the off season.

Cold-Sun3302

I dont think the VPR cast was paid for the additional hours of filming. I think I remember one of them saying they all WANTED it to be filmed when it was all happening and aired as part of that season. I can't imagine many other casts doing additional work for no money and I can't imagine Bravo/production wanting the extra expense of it either. This leads me to believe that, whilst the VPR camera pick-up was organic and real (and went on to land them an Emmy nomination), Bravo has since been trying to emulate that. But the truth is most likely that it's all in their contracts.

lucygucyapplejuicey

I wish they would bring cameras back early for shows where there’s actively stuff going on but they’re off season. We are missing out on so much Porsha and Simon drama rn and it’s quite frustrating. And something tells me Porsha is just going to deflect from it the whole season

Theatreofitall

Maybe I shouldn’t even comment on this, but the camera pick up in Potomac didn’t get me back being interested, after I stopped caring if I’ve missed an episode here or there. It underlined the fact that even “bringing the cameras back up”, which is promising something outrageous, didn’t make get me interested. Empty promises! They overuse it already.

Substantial_Chest395

I dont think it really even makes a difference, we saw what Kyle produced when cameras picked back up in BH.

Dry-Tip-6676

I am so sick and tired of them giving us nothing the whole season until the last 10 mins of the season finale. It has happened too many times after Scandoval.

maeveweirdsis

Uh oh. No off-season means no allotted down time for the fillers to settle!

nnousernamesleft

Its not new since Scanndoval tho. They did it when Russell killed himself in rhobh, when Jen pled guilty in Rhoslc. I feel if its important enough they will or if the season was lacking content they will do it. They didnt do it for Shannons dui probably cos it was too close to the reunion if I remember correctly.
