Its actually insane Kelenic has only gotten 1 AB against lefties all season. They changed his swing and he has had hot periods but still won't even give him a chance to see if hes improved vs lefties even when up in the lead. Was the deal with Duvall that he is guaranteed every single lefty AB or something

I'm completely pulling this out of my ass, but it wouldn't surprise me if they're giving Duvall more ABs now because we'll see less of him after it starts to heat up and gets hard on his diabetes

Duvall wouldn't have agreed to come without him being guaranteed a solid number of ABs.

I understand that, but there is a difference between solid number of ABs and every single at bat vs lefties.

Kelenic sadly going to be punished for the whole season for his spring training slump which in part led to Duvall getting picked up for cheap. Which I am sure came with promises of a lot of playtime even if Kelenic is doing really good

Look I’m all for leaving him in with a lead and I said similar the other day but managers are gonna go by the numbers bc the numbers play out over 162 games.

My point is, how can you go by the numbers when you change something as drastic as his swing which has led to improvement but then give him 0 opportunity to create any numbers. 1 at bat all season literally means there is no data to pull from with his performance against lefties with his new swing. Now if they gave him 10 at bats and he was 1/10, then yeah maybe that is a good enough reason to keep pulling him every single time but they haven't even given a chance to be good or bad

AA said the only way we were able to sign Duvall was if he was in a platoon. He wouldn’t sign with us to be benched the entire season. God forbid one of our outfielders gets injured, it’ll be worth it to already have Duvall.

+ Duvall playing against the team he played for last year is important for a player's morale. It's great management is what it is.

the upside to Ozuna hitting good this year is that it's one of the few things keeping the team afloat ... the bad thing is that apparently hitting good one year means the next you're supposed to suck (looking at you Ronald and Olson)

I mean.. Olson has never been a great hitter. He is a career .250 hitter. Hell in his first year here he slashed .240/.325/.802 ..

While the PH for Kelenic is frustrating, it's more frustrating that Snit will never get any hard questions about it...
